PART 2. ____ ____ HEALTH DANGERS

(NOTE: Items marked with this ** double asterisk mean not from Sloane)

__D: ALA
Alpha lipoic acid removes iron from the body and can lead to anemia.

__D: ALLOPATHY

http://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1913837#i
Sloane said: I left allopathic medicine a long time ago as well because in short they didn't have a clue what they were doing. They were too busy still practicing medicine rather than performing medicine. And you were not allowed to really help people. Even if you knew how to help a cancer or AIDS patient you were not allowed to. You had to stand there and watch them die. So I got fed up and left.

__D: **ANTICONVULSANTS
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11469670
_Major system toxicities and side effects of anticonvulsants.
_Abstract
_The use of anticonvulsants is expanding in the treatment of bipolar and related disorders. Although they have characteristics in common, the anticonvulsants currently used are quite diverse and vary in their spectrum of activity, quality of supporting evidence, and organ toxicities. Common side effects of anticonvulsants that can limit tolerability but are not physiologically severe include sedation and other cognitive impairments, tremor, and gastrointestinal side effects. Possibly less common, but of more physiologic significance, are effects on body weight and metabolism and dose-related hepatic and hematologic effects. Severe, but rare, toxicities include skin, bone marrow, and hepatic toxicity due to hypersensitivity. The most important aspect of successful management of severe toxicities is early detection, discontinuation of the medicine, and vigorous treatment of the toxicity. Anticonvulsants can also be associated with fetal toxicity, especially neural tube defects. In general, anticonvulsants are well tolerated and their effectiveness greatly outweighs risk or annoyance from side effects, but side effects must be kept in mind when choosing and monitoring treatment.

__D: ASPIRIN
(See also NSAIDS)
_Aspirin for Heart Attacks?
_With all of the talk about nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke, it seems like there is a lot of advertising going on claiming that aspirin can reduce your risk of heart attack. Are these claims really credible, or just more pharmaceutical sales hype?
_One of the most misleading commercials was from an aspirin manufacturer that was claiming that their product had been shown to reduce the risk of a second heart attack by 50%. Sounds really impressive until you look at how they came to their conclusion. It was revealed on news program that the company had started with around 100 test subjects. After being given the aspirin therapy for a length of time, the drug company chose only 6 participants to base their conclusion on. Out of the 6 participants, 3 had not had a second heart attack by that time. Thus the drug company came to the conclusion that their product reduced the risk of a second heart attack by 50%.
_Numerous other companies have been making similar claims. And aspirin therapy is even being recommended to take during a heart attack. This is a widely accepted concept, and is even being recommended by some doctors. Though, this practice has never been proven safe, or beneficial in any way. In fact, the practice is being questioned by other doctors because evidence is contrary to this common belief.
_Generally NSAIDs contract blood vessels and promote the formation of blood clots by inhibiting the hormone prostacyclin. Aspirin inhibits prostacyclin as well, leading to blood vessel constriction. Unlike other NSAIDs though, aspirin actually helps to prevent blood clots though by interfering with platelet clumping. Blood clots are well known for causing heart attacks and thrombic stroke. This is where the notion that aspirin would help prevent a heart attack, or reduce risk of death from a heart attack, got started. Aspirin does not dissolve existing blood clots though. If a person takes an aspirin after a heart attack from a blood clot (thrombus), the aspirin will not dissolve the blood clot to restore blood flow. Although, as with all NSAIDs, aspirin will cause the blood vessels to contract, further reducing blood flow. This is the last thing that a person having a heart attack or angina should do. It is a decreased blood flow to the heart that leads to angina, and an obstruction of blood flow that causes heart attacks in the first place.
_Medical studies dating back to 1971 have consistently shown that aspirin does not benefit people during heart attacks. This claim is nothing more than sales propaganda. And some studies had to be stopped before results could be obtained due to the increased risk gastric hemorrhage and hemorrhagic stroke.
_One aspirin study did appear at first to reduce the risk of death from heart attack. This study was conducted by two groups of doctors, one in England, and the other in the United States. The group of doctors in England took plain aspirin, and concluded no reduced risk of death from aspirin therapy. The U.S. group of doctors used aspirin buffered with magnesium. This group found a slight benefit from the therapy. The benefit was not from the aspirin though. Instead, the benefit resulted from the magnesium added to the aspirin. Magnesium is a well known for relaxing blood vessels. By relaxing the blood vessels, magnesium actually increases blood flow to the heart, opposite of aspirin's effect.
_Hemorrhage is the most dangerous side effect of aspirin therapy. If a bleed starts due to a ruptured blood vessel, the inability to clot can have devastating consequences. For example, NSAIDs kill over 16,000 people a year. Nearly all of these deaths are due to internal bleeding disorders. These bleeding disorders are primarily gastric bleeds and hemorrhagic strokes. This increased risk of bleeds is not only due to the blood thinning effects of the aspirin, but also from the blood vessel weakening effects of the drug, which increases the likelihood that a blood vessels will rupture.
_My grandfather actually lost his eyesight completely in one eye from taking aspirin. He developed a bleed in the eye from a ruptured blood vessel, which was likely weakened by the aspirin therapy. Because the aspirin had also thinned out his blood so much, the bleed could not clot as it would normally do, and he went blind in that eye.
_There is also a problem with the constant claims of aspirin reducing the risk of a second heart attack or stroke by a certain percentage, which is often done by these drug companies. Both heart attacks and strokes are unpredictable. So how can they claim that aspirin prevented a second heart attack, or stroke, when it is impossible to tell if the person would have had a second heart attack or stroke if they had not taken the aspirin? And what if all the people in the study were to have a second heart attack or stroke the day after the study is completed? The percentage would still remain the same since the heart attacks or strokes occurred outside the study timeframe. These are just a few examples of how drug studies are manipulated to make drugs appear safe or effective.

__D: CHIROPRACTIC
_I went to chiropractors for a while after getting slammed in to by a drunk driver while stopped a red light. They did get rid of my headaches, so I stopped going.
Overall though I would not go to chiropractors otherwise. My main issue with chiropractors is that they generally do not address the cause of the problem. A simple way to look at this is why are people going back to the chiropractor every few days if the problem is being fixed? They are not addressing the tight muscles and contracted tendons that are pulling the bones out of alignment in the first place and will pull them back out of alignment again shortly.
_And I rarely see chiropractors have their clients massaged or treated with heat first to loosen the muscles before adjustments. Trying to do adjustments with cold contracted muscles is like trying to go for a hard run without warming up first to loosen the muscles. Not a good idea.
_As far as the cracking goes a lot of people do not realize that all that cracking sound is are the gas bubbles forming and popping in the joints. Gases under pressure can be forced in to solution. And when that pressure is reduced the gases will come back out of solution. Consider a bottle of soda. Before the bottle is opened the gas (carbon dioxide) is under pressure, which keeps it in solution. Once the cap is opened you hear gas escaping and pressure in the bottle is reduced allowing more of the carbon dioxide to escape out of the solution. Gases such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen can enter in to solution in the joints in the same manner. When the chiropractor does a manipulation what happens with the gas is that the pressure on the synovial fluid is reduced allowing the gases to come out of solution. These gases form bubbles that then pop creating the cracking sound. So the cracking sound can be impressive and make the person feel like something major has been done, but the cracking sound actually has nothing to do with helping in any alignment.
_For alignment I personally prefer either the energy work called Quantum Touch, or simply releasing the muscles manually. For the later as an example if the hips are out of alignment the first thing to determine is if they are being pulled by the muscles in the front or the back. Then you find the muscle that is contracted. Most often this is in the back and the muscle can be felt on the inside of the hip bone near the spine. The thumb is pushed down on the inside of the hip bone on the contracted muscle for about 20-30 seconds. This causes the muscle to relax and the high hip lowers back down even with the other hip bone. Other contracted muscles are basically done the same way but feel for the "dips" in the muscles, which is where you need to push. For example, if the neck is out of alignment this is most often from over contraction of the muscles in the shoulder area. These muscles run up in to the neck.. So when they contract too hard they can yank the vertebrae out of alignment. Generally when someone's neck is out of alignment you will see that the person's shoulder on that side usually sits higher than the other shoulder from the contracted muscle. In this case the contracted muscles on the high shoulder side need to be released first, then the muscles in the neck on the side it is out.
Here are some old posts on the subject that also explain how to use the same technique to straighten out scoliosis:

__D: COLLOIDAL SILVER
(Avoid)
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1597888#i

__D: DIET ISSUES; DIABETES
I don't believe in any strict diet. The biggest drawback to strict vegetarian diets is the risk of B12 deficiency anemia if the person does not supplement with B12. Symptoms do not show up for years since the liver stores a 2-6 year supply of B12. Raw food diets run in to the same problem if a B12 source is not added. And many raw vegetables are very goitrogenic. Again, each strict diet has its drawbacks.
_I disagree with any strict diet, which includes low carb, high protein. Especially in diabetics. Diabetics are already at high risk for kidney damage from insulin. High protein diets put more load on the kidneys and increase the risk of kidney damage due to uric acid crystals that can shred the kidneys if not completely hydrolyzed.
_Foods such as green leafy vegetables are good source of magnesium, which helps to prevent insulin damage.

__D: DMSO. Here's what James said on April 29, 2020 in his private Facebook group, Science Based Natural Healing.
_Nancy K-G: "DMSO is short for a substance called Dimethyl Sulfoxide. This is a natural by-product of the lumber industry and comes from the bark of trees."
_DMSO is neither natural nor does it come from the bark of trees.
_DMSO is a synthetic solvent formed as a byproduct of the bleaching of wood pulp.
_When heated it adds an oxygen atom forming synthetic DMSO2, also known as methylsulfonylmethane (MSM).
_This is used in the supplement industry and is a good sulfur source providing 34% sulfur.
_If mixed with oxidizers such as [chlorine dioxide], oxygen, or ozone, it can produce the highly poisonous gas DMSO4.
_For an example of this, research DMSO and Ramierez.
_In this case not only did the patient die but the toxic gas nearly killed several hospital emergency room workers when they drew her blood.
_People need to be EXTREMELY careful when using DMSO for the above reasons and because DMSO can carry various substances right in to the bloodstream including soap scum on the skin.
_Therefore, the skin needs to be cleaned with soap and water first then cleaned again with alcohol before applying DMSO.
_People also need to be extremely careful about what they mix DMSO with before application.
_DMSO can carry various plant compounds through the skin that SHOULD NEVER be in the bloodstream.
_For example plant saponins as these will hemolyze (destroy) red blood cells if they enter the bloodstream.
_This can lead to anemia as well as excess uric acid levels increasing the risk of tissue damage including the kidneys as well as kidney stones.
_Bottom line is if people are going to use DMSO they need to do some serious research on it first and not just do it because someone who does not understand it or its chemistry recommends it on the internet.

__D: FASTING
When people go on starvation diets, which is along the same lines as fasting, the metabolism slows down, the body goes in to a stress mode and in the long run the body generates more body fat in preparation for future starvation periods. In other words it drastically alters the body's chemistry, and not for the better.
_The body does not store certain nutrients such as vitamin C. And autolysis means the body is breaking down its own tissues, which again creates a higher toxic load in the body. For example cancer cells destroy cells in the body, which also releases whatever is in the cells. Same for hemolytic anemia. So does this make these diseases beneficial because they lyse healthy cells? Of course not. Cellular lysis is important in the body, such as for bone remodeling, but general cell lysis is not a good thing.

__D: FORMULATING MISTAKE: TANNINS
The most common formulating mistake I see is to add high tannin sources to a formula. Tannins lock up various active compounds, such as alkaloids and glycosides in other herbs, rendering those compounds useless to the body. In short high tannin sources in herbal formulations reduce their effectiveness.

__D: GMO's
_Even certified GMO-free may not be GMO-free. The problem is that any farm can start with non-GMO seeds, but bees can carry pollen from GMO plants to non-GMO plants. This has been my biggest concern since once these genes start spreading there is no putting the genie back in the bottle.
_And this applies to more and more foods as they keep splicing genes in to more and more crops.
_The only way to change things is to kill the market for GMO foods. This is going to require that more than a few people stand up and refuse to buy GMO foods, but in so many cases it is not that obvious. Look at the Starlight corn fiasco. Much of this was in fast food products, something that people do not often associate with GMO.

__D: GOITROGENS
_Pears, peaches, strawberries, peanuts, soy, sweet potatoes, radishes, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, peaches, spinach, flax seeds, pine nuts, brussels sprouts, kale, turnips, collards, mustard greens, rutabega
__D: GOITROGENS
_Fermentation and cooking both inactivate the goitrogens in soy. For example in these posts:

__D: HISTAMINE
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1655424#i
_Re: High histamine
_I suspect histamine is a very complicated subject with many causes for abnormal regulation.
_Would you agree with 3 possible causes below? and would there be any other major ones?
_Causes
- low stomach acid and poor digestion, leading to fermentation in the gut and subsequent histamine reactions.
_Histamine is found in a wide range of foods either naturally, such as spinach and nightshades, or during natural or induced fermentation of foods through the action of bacteria on the amino acid histidine. The reason we do not all issues with dietary histamine is because diamine oxidase in the gut breaks down histamine. A lack of DAO therefore can lead to histamine issues with food.
- Undermethylation
_Yes, the donation of a methyl group by methyl donors, such as TMG and choline, inactivate histamine.
- Weak adrenals
_Epinephrine released from the adrenals is a natural antihistamine through its elevating cyclic adenosine monophosphate.
Dehydration, diuretics including caffeine and low copper levels can also lead to increased histamine levels. Excess copper though can be dangerous so supplementing with copper needs to be done carefully.
_I'm REALLY struggling with even food in general at the moment, with constant cravings and salivating for almost all foods, even things like canned fish, chicken and sauerkraut (as well all my other cravings/sensitivities - spices, nuts, dairy, sugar - including fruits). Saurkraut in particular caused strong cravings, and a significant raising of anxiety, heart rate and headaches after consumption. I do (try to) deal with weak adrenals, sluggish liver and poor digestion, and very poor gut health. The hope was that the sauerkraut would help this but seems to instead seems to cause too much of a reaction.
_Is there anything from the list below that you would recommend for someone in my position? - which is feeling of constantly feeling ramped up and cravings/salivating for almost all food. I am already attempting to support my adrenals.
_B6: Used in the formation of methyl donors, but the actual methyl donors would be better.
_diamine oxidase: I have never seen this sold as a supplement.
_Vitamin C; Quercetin: Vitamin C and quercetin are both great. Vitamin C will help support the adrenals and quercetin is a natural antihistamine.
_SAM-e; TMG: TMG is stronger and cheaper than SAMe. Choline bitartrate is also a good choice for a methyl donor, although lower doses are required.
_EFA's; Magnesium; Inositol; Calcium; Zinc; plant sterols: As far as histamine goes the plant sterols are going to be the most beneficial due to their effects on the adrenals. Nettle leaf is also good since it is nutrient rich including sterols, supports the adrenal glands and is a natural antihistamine.

__D: IODINE
- http://medcapsules.com/forum/showthread.php?tid___2459
_Someone said in a letter online that most people need a lot more iodine, but herbalist James Sloane says that's not true. The letter said: "In 1911, 900 milligrams daily (900,000 micrograms/day!) were considered usual and safe doses. In 1950 the Japanese had 100 times more iodine in their diet than Americans".
_Sloane replied:
The author left out several very important points. The typical Japanese diet will be higher in [natural] iodine due to the higher consumption of ocean animals and seaweeds. The typical Japanese diet is also high in rice, which is high in iodine binding starch [so it prevents excess iodine from doing harm]. In addition, the ingestion of [unnatural] free iodine, such as with Lugol's iodine, is not the same as organically bound iodine in foods. The point is that what is a safe dose of iodine in one form does not make the same dose safe in a different form of iodine.
_Unfortunately many people are supplementing with more dangerous forms of iodine such as Lugol's iodine. Lugol's iodine is considered a poison due to the presence of toxic [unnatural] elemental iodine. Pure potassium iodide is considered considerably safer since the iodide ion is not as toxic as elemental iodine.
_In addition, if we follow the studies back they also showed that with the addition of iodide to salt there was an increase of hyperthyroidism with corresponding symptoms including goiter [showing that excess iodide is dangerous]. See: http://jn.nutrition.org/content/135/4/675.full#ref-52
_This is how so many people get in to trouble [including me]. First they read sales websites to get their health information without researching credible sites to find out if the original claims are even true. Then they assume that more is better. Estrogen is essential to the body. Should people start taking excess amounts of estrogen? What about insulin? Steroids? Vitamin A? Many compounds work very well in small amounts in the body. Sometimes because that is all the body needs and sometimes because other synergistic factors help the compounds work properly at lower doses.
_The letter also said: "it is important to move forward carefully as we treat this pandemic level of 72% iodine deficiency in the world and a shocking 96% deficiency in Americans, affecting the minds of billions of people".
_Sloane replied:
Where is the evidence to those statistics? Sounds like more of scare tactic propaganda I have seen on some iodine promotion sites. In fact, considering how much of the world is reliant on the oceans on their primary food sources and the number of other people that live near ocean waters where they are exposed to iodine from ocean spray and iodine laden rain I would highly doubt those statistics.
_Numerous studies have linked the decreased rate of breast and prostate cancer in Japan not to the higher iodine intake but rather the higher intake of plant phytoestrogens [as in soy].
_Abraham, the letter writer, made an assumption that the iodine had something to do with [Japan's lack of obesity] rather than investigating further. What about other cultures where there is a high reliance on seafoods providing an abundance of iodine in the diet? For example in some of the island nations. Yet obesity is rampant in many of these islands despite the high iodine intake. Clearly there is something other than the iodine that is making Japan such a healthy nation. And as I pointed out earlier this factor has been shown in numerous studies to be the high intake of phytoestrogens in the diet.
_As for his comment that the Japanese must either be mutants or they are capable of thriving on toxic levels of iodine Abraham is overlooking some basic facts. Again, the starch in the typical Japanese diet binds iodine reducing its toxicity.
_In addition, the Japanese consume a lot of seaweed that also contains the halogens fluorine and bromine that are antagonistic to iodine. Again, the ingestion of food based iodine sources is vastly different than some iodine sources such as Lugol's iodine that is considered a poison by most everyone. Abraham on the other hand considers Lugol's to be extremely safe as well as another well known poison known as tincture of iodine.
_Being that Abraham set out to prove his hypothesis and failed to do the proper research to determine what was allowing the Japanese to be so healthy compared to other high iodine consumption nations, and failed to consider how the higher iodine intake was being offset, I would not put much faith in to his research.
_Excess iodine has also been shown to induce [death] of healthy thyroid cells in animal studies:
_and in healthy human thyroid cells:
_Sloane shows that most of the claims Abraham made about iodine are false or misleading.

__D: MEDS THAT DAMAGE THE LIVER
Here is a general list of some medications that are known for causing liver damage: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Nuprin, etc.), naproxen sodium (Aleve), and celecoxib (Celebrex), acetaminophen (Tylenol), minoxidil (Rogaine), and statin drugs used to lower cholesterol.

__D: NSAIDS
(See also ASPIRIN)
(See also MEDS THAT DAMAGE THE LIVER)
_Inflammation is part of the body's trying to heal.  Basically what is happening is when we injure ourselves inflammatory hormones called prostaglandins dilate the blood vessels in the area to increase blood flow and thus oxygen and nutrients to the area to promote healing.  When the blood vessels are dilated like this for a while though they become permeable so they leak fluids in to the surrounding tissues.  This is the swelling [and sometimes pain] that people experience.
_Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs work by inhibiting these prostaglandins thereby constricting the blood vessels.  This prevents the leakage of fluid [that causes swelling and pain], but also inhibits the healing process.  In addition these drugs are known for causing heart attacks, strokes, chemical induced hepatitis, kidney failure, loss of vision and tinnitus because they can reduce or cut off the blood supply to organs and other tissues.  And contrary to popular belief this does not require long term use or excessive doses.  There were 2 dozen deaths from ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Nuprin, etc.) induced hepatitis during clinical trials.  And I know 4 people that had their kidneys shut down after taking a single recommended dose of ibuprofen.  The people most at risk are those with circulatory disorders such as those with Raynaud's disease or phenomena, congestive heart failure, diabetes, etc.
_A couple of options to help with the pain and swelling without inhibiting healing are either using an arnica cream topically over the injured area, or internally licorice root and yucca root are both strong steroidal anti-inflammatories.

__**Early Death Associated With Antipsychotics
https://www.madinamerica.com/2011/11/%EF%BB%BFearly-death-associated-with-antipsychotics/
_There are a vast number of studies that document the diverse range of side effects caused by antipsychotic drugs. These adverse effects include brain damage, tardive dyskinesia, Parkinsonian symptoms, akathisia, cognitive impairment, and metabolic disorders. Mad in America documents these negative effects; see Psychrights for PDFs of many of these studies.
On the fact that continual use of antipsychotics leads to early death, see the following:
_1. Sudden unexplained death in psychiatric in-patients. Appleby, L. British Journal of Psychiatry 176 (2000):405-406.
Neuroleptics may cause sudden death by inducing cardiac arrhythmias and QT prolongation.

_3. Tardive dyskinesia associated with higher mortality in psychiatric patients. Ballesteros, J. British Journal of Psychiatry 173 (1998):325-329.
_Over a 10-year period, 39 out of 88 patients on antipsychotic drugs died. Reduced survival was associated with the administration of two or more neuroleptics at the same time, and time since withdrawal of antipsychotics (patients maintained on antipsychotics became burdened with chronic physical illness, so much so that it replaced the “psychiatric disorder as the primary focus of medical care.”) The final pathway to early death was global medical decline and death from respiratory illness.

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are notorious for causing mental disturbances including suicidal depression, especially when first starting on them. The problem is that they are often prescribed to people with normal serotonin levels and the excess serotonin leads to the disturbances. Do your original problem could be from a lack of some other neurotransmitter. Likely acetylcholine since deficiencies can lead to anxiety.

_[Signs of brain damage:] dizziness, sleepiness (somnolence), blurred vision, difficulty with concentration/attention; fatigue, weakness, irritability, anxiety, confusion; speech problems, nervousness, memory problems, visions problems; tremor,  depression in adults, irritability in children, reduced attention, decrease in thinking speed, hearing loss, [liver damage, pancreas problems]; unsteady walking, drooling and hyperactivity in children; vertigo, ataxia; [bone marrow failure or liver failure]; weakness, behavioral changes; balance problems; aggression, anger, anxiety, paranoia, euphoric mood, agitation, and changes in mental status; slurred speech, [bone thinning].

__D: SUGARS
_Every sugar has its pros and cons.
_Many sugars that are considered healthy such as raw sugar and honey are still sugar and will still raise the blood sugar. So they really are not much different than HFCS.
_And yes, sugar alcohols can cause bloating in some individuals and can cause diarrhea in large doses.
_Fructose is not as bad as sucrose, which includes raw sugar and is one of the sugars found in honey. Fructose, also known as fruit sugar, is also the sugar of agave nectar. It will raise blood sugar, just like sucrose, but it burns more evenly than sucrose preventing the severe crashes.
_I feel the safest sugar source over all is stevia. It is very sweet, the higher quality grades taste great, and the sugars in stevia are not absorbed. Green stevia is also a great source of blood sugar regulating chromium.

__D: TINCTURES
_I rarely use herbs as tinctures or teas for various reasons. Part of this reason is that the alcohol used to make tinctures can alter the chemistry of some herbs greatly. You also lose the beneficial fibers.

_Is there any D3 suppliment that you like or have worked with in the past? Thanks!
First thing to keep in mind is that there is both an active form of D3 and an inactive form of D3. Let's say someone ingests some vitamin D2, which is also inactive. _The D2 has to go to the liver where it can be converted in to inactive D3. From there the inactive D3 can go to the kidneys for conversion in to active D3. So in order to convert D2 in to active D3 requires properly a properly functioning liver and properly functioning kidneys.
D3 supplements contain inactive D3 since the active form is so much more expensive. Being that it is already in the inactive form of D3 liver function is not as critical, but kidney function still is. If a person has kidney issues they can still have inadequate levels of active D3 even with supplementation if their body is not converting the inactive form of D3 in to its active form. Therefore, it would be a good idea to also supplement with herbs that support the liver and kidneys such as schisandra berry and nettle leaf.
_As far as the dosage, in my opinion 5,000IU daily is excessive. Vitamin D stores in the liver so there is really no reason to megadose in the first place. Then there are safety concerns with such high levels of vitamin D. I recommend not exceeding 2,000IU daily. But still try to get as much of your vitamin D from either the sun or add full spectrum lamps around your house to help with vitamin D produciton.
_One final note is that vitamin D3 supplements are made from sheep lanolin, a common allergen.
