MEDCAPSULES - A

ACID REFLUX / GERD
_These can be signs of a lack of stomach acid, which leads to an overgrowth of stomach yeast. When we are younger [we] produce sufficient stomach acid to control yeast growth. As we age, though, stomach acidity naturally declines, [so] we develop more nutritional deficiencies, [such as] mineral[] ..., vitamin[] B6, B12 and folate [and silica deficiencies]. [Silica deficiency] leads to osteoporosis, wrinkles, etc.
_Overgrowth of yeast in the stomach leads to heartburn due to fermentation from the yeast.
_Excessive stomach acid is ... extremely rare. Yet antacids and acid blockers are the second largest selling drug class. [So] these drugs can actually make the condition worse by neutralizing the remaining acid, or by preventing its secretion, [which] encourages more yeast growth that can contribute to reflux.
_There are several things that can be done. In Europe digestive bitters are very popular for treating heartburn. ... Bitters work by stimulating the bitter receptors on the back of the tongue. This in turn stimulates ... the vagus nerve [which] increases the production of stomach acid, bile secretion and pancreatic enzyme secretion. Bitters also have a cleansing effect on the liver, and the bile increasing effects make it useful for dissolving cholesterol based gallstones. ... It is important to drink a lot of water throughout the day....
_Zinc can also help since it is a catalyst for the formation of hydrochloric acid for the stomach. The recommended dose is 50 mg daily with a large meal.
_B vitamins are also essential for the formation of stomach acid. It is best to get these from foods such as rice bran, oat bran, watercress, seaweeds, or nutritional yeast. Otherwise a B50 complex twice daily with meals can be used.
_Trimethylglycine (TMG) can also be used to increase stomach acid formation. TMG is a strong methyl donor. Methylation is required for the production of many substances in the body including stomach acid, neurotransmitters, hormones, etc.
_The final option is betaine HCl, derived from beet leaves. Betaine HCl is very acidic, with a pH of 1. So it needs to be taken with food already in the stomach. ... Betaine HCl is best used [only] occasionally.
_Caffeine, nicotine and mints should be avoided by people with chronic GERD as these can relax the LES causing more reflux.
_Hiatal hernias can also increase the risk of reflux by constricting the stomach.

ACNE
_The most common cause of acne are excess hormones known as androgens. The liver is responsible in part for keeping androgen levels in check. So keeping the liver "clean" and functioning properly is a great start to preventing acne. The best way to do this is with herbs known as digestive bitters. As the name implies these herbs are very bitter tasting, and they do have to contact the tongue to work. When bitter substances come in to contact with the bitter receptors on the back of the tongue, they stimulate a nerve known as the vagus nerve. This nerve in turn cleanses the liver so it can work more efficiently. It is important to drink plenty of water throughout the day when using bitters to keep from getting sick. And you do not need large amounts. A half a dropper full on the tongue 2 to 3 times daily is sufficient. It is very important to drink plenty of water throughout the day when using bitters.
_B vitamins are also important for the detoxification of hormones. Natural sources are the best such as rice bran, oat bran, seaweeds, nutritional yeast and pollen.
_Zinc is also essential for preventing acne. But again do not go overboard. The recommended dose is 50mg daily with your largest meal. Zinc can make you nauseous if there is not enough food in your stomach.
_Excess iodine can also cause acne because the iodine irritates and inflames the follicles. Dairy for example has been linked to acne because of the high level of iodine. "It has been well-established since the 1960s that iodine intake can exacerbate acne," said Arbesman. "Various studies have shown there is still a significant level of iodine in milk in several countries, including the U.S., Britain, Denmark, Norway and Italy." [Dairy also contains hormones.]

ADD/ADHD
_My first choice would be the herb periwinkle (Vinca minor) to increase brain ATP levels. Take it with something that retains moisture such as seaweeds or yucca root powder to help prevent constipation by the periwinkle since it dries the intestines.
_Next would be EPA/DHA, which is a fish oil concentrate.
_Lecithin granules are also great for proper brain function.
_A few other herbs that really help with the nervous system including the brain are juniper berry, rosemary and gotu kola.

ALLERGY
_Allergies are generally a symptom of adrenal dysfunction. Normally when we are exposed to allergens the adrenal glands secrete epinephrine (adrenaline) that counter histamine and leukotrienes associated with allergies and corticosteroids to modulate the immune response. If the adrenals are not working properly then the lack of these compounds can lead to allergic responses among other problems.
_This is the same reason children can outgrow their allergies as the adrenals mature. And also the same reason behind the medications used to treat allergies. They are either epinephrine or similar drugs and steroids. The drugs are substitutes for the insufficient levels of epinephrine and corticosteroids normally secreted by the adrenals.
_The adrenal glands are highly dependent on vitamin C and get priority of vitamin C over the entire rest of the body. Natural sources of vitamin C are generally much stronger and more stable than synthetic vitamin C sources (ascorbic acid, "Ester-C, Palm C, etc.). An exception is camu camu, which I am not that fond of due to stability issues. Food sources such as papaya, kiwi, mango, berries and peppers are great sources of vitamin C. My favorite herbal sources include acerola cherry, pine needles, amla, rose hips and nettle leaf.
_The second most important nutrient for the adrenals in the B vitamin pantothenic acid. You may have heard of people using pollen or honey to treat their allergies. This has nothing to do with desensitization as most people are told. The reason pollen works is because of its high pantothenic acid content, which supports adrenal function. Honey is bee vomitTongue produced by the digestion and regurgitation of the pollen. The honey is also high in pantothenic acid.
_Adaptogenic herbs help by supporting the adrenal glands. Again some adaptogens are a little too stimulatory for very weak adrenals. My favorite adaptogens for asthmatics are licorice root (G. uralensis), schisandra berry, jiaogulan, suma, ashwagandha and eleuthero.
_Stimulants such as caffeine and nicotine should be avoided as they will make allergies worse over time by overworking the adrenals further reducing output of epinephrine and corticosteroids.
_Keeping stress down is also very helpful since stress also taxes the adrenals.
_A couple of other supplements that can help are the bioflavonoid quercetin and the methyl donor trimethylglycine (TMG). Quercetin is a natural and safe antihistamine while TMG provides methyl groups that both lead to a reduction of histamine responses and supports proper immune regulation.

SLOANE'S AILMENTS (& REMEDIES) - B
OTHER-AILS+REMS - B http://l00k.createaforum.com/h/manr/msg106/#msg106

__BACK PAIN
_Do you know what is causing the hip bursitis and the upper back pain HV?
_The adrenal fatigue will be part of it for two reasons. One reason is that the adrenal fatigue increases inflammation in the body. It also increases the requirement of vitamin C by the adrenals, which leads to less vitamin C available for the structural proteins such as collagen and elastin. This leads to weakening of the tissues. The weakening makes them more prone to damage and also increases the risk of disc slippage from the lack of connective tissue support and because of the development of micro cracks in the vertebrae.
_But vitamin C will not correct this on on its own. Silica is also extremely important both for the production of these structural proteins and inflammation reduction.

__BALDNESS
Shampoo additive for baldness is Licorice root, rosemary and juniper berry.

__BELCHING
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1588568#i
_Either the stomach is not completely empty or it is possible that you are swallowing air. When people do this the body heat expands the air leading to same problem as the gas from fermentation.

__BELPHARITIS (EYE LID INFECTION)
_The use of cosmetics around the eye is the most common cause of belpharitis. When you apply makeup the makeup becomes contaminated with bacteria. With time the bacterial counts go up increasing the risk of infection.

__**BIOFILM INFECTIONS
https://youtube.com/watch?v=IbTdgTWTgDE&t=300s
_Common Biofilm Infections include middle ear infection, endocarditis infection of cardiac valve, atherosclerosis, periodontal disease, salivary stones, typhoid fever, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic wound infection, bacterial vaginosis, mastitis, chronic rhinosinusitis, chronic sore throat, pertussis, cystic fibrosis, chronic bacterial prostatitis, urinary tract infection. The protocol requires 3 steps. 1. Dissolve & kill the biofilm. 2. Interrupt its communications. 3. Kill the dormant persister cells. Following are the details.
1. Dissolve & kill with an oxidizer (ozone or H2O2 IV), a solvent (DMSO or essential oil), or an enzyme (serrapeptase)
2. Interrupt with bitters (berberine or gentian).
3. Kill with ozone or H2O2 IV or essential oil (oregano or thyme or pinene or clove) every few days for a few months.

__BLOATING
Can kefir cause bloating? Yes, especially if there are unfermented sugars still in the kefir.
_I know taking antibiotics for the tooth infection messed me up and I'm trying to get back to digesting food again, but right now I feel pregnant 24/7 [bloated]. Can you help me?
_See if you can find some yucca root. Yucca root is high in saponins, which are a surfactant and will reduce fermentation in the digestive system.
_Gaseous bloating is most often from fermentation of food or sugars in the stomach and intestines.

__**(MRNA COVID VAX) BLOOD CLOTTING (See also Covid-19)
_A Midwest Doctor: Take proteolytic enzymes. What about Earthing?

__BLOOD PRESSURE, HIGH
___Coleus forskohlii will take the blood pressure down pretty quick. Combining it with some ___watercress or ___nettle will help prolong the effects. If you cannot find the coleus look for ___lily of the valley or ___cactus grandiflorus (night blooming cereus), which also drop the blood pressure quickly.
- Taking some ___glycine will help calm.
__BLOOD PRESSURE, HIGH
_I have seen many cases a lot worse. Around the 300/200 range or higher [than 150/110] and the people were still walking around. Not sure how. The biggest worries with high blood pressure are with possible kidney damage, arterial damage leading to arterial plaque, and the risk of blowing out an aneurysm.
_The magnesium is a natural calcium channel blocker. I would add ashwagandha, which is a natural ACE inhibitor and beta blocker. That will cover most causes of high blood pressure.
_Another great herb is coleus forskohlii, which works like digitalis, even though it is not a cardiac glycoside. Forskohlii slows the heart, strengthens the heart contractions, and lowers the blood pressure. Take it with nettle leaf or watercress to prolong the effects.
_Sterols also lower blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels. Jiaogulan is a great source.
_And there is the amino acid taurine, which also relaxes blood vessels. This must be taken on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before meals.
__BLOOD PRESSURE ISSUES
Berberine is bad for blood pressure. ___MagMal is good
http://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1523781#i
Diabetes
http://medcapsules.com/forum/showthread.php?tid_24456

__BLOOD SUGAR ISSUES
____Juniper berries are a bitter [good to flush the liver], antifungal, adrenal and pancreatic support and they lower blood sugar, reducing insulin needs. Juniper berries are very supporting to the pancreas, but they also drop blood sugar like crazy so you should have a little something in the stomach when using them. Here I would recommend less, such as a 1/4 teaspoon three times daily. The juniper berries also help with other areas of digestion. Juniper berries contain an insulin-like compound that lowers the blood sugar. Therefore both nettle leaves and juniper berries help to starve cancer cells.
____Chamomile has been shown to help with lowering blood sugar levels in diabetics, probably due to the anti-inflammatory effects.
_Increasing ___chromium and ___vanadium (vanadyl sulfate) intake are the easiest ways to maintain proper sugar levels. I recommend 200mcg of ___chromium polynicotinate (not picolinate) 3 times a day with meals. Polynicotinate is a niacin bound chromium, so it also helps maintain proper cholesterol levels. It is also 300 times stronger than chromium picolinate. ___Vanadyl sulfate functions like a natural insulin taking sugar out of the blood stream. Insulin is dependant on insulin receptors to carry sugar out of the blood. Though nearly all diabetics are type 2 diabetics, who produce plenty, and often too much insulin because their insulin receptors are either closed or missing so the available insulin cannot remove the sugar from the blood. Since vanadyl sulfate is not dependant on these insulin receptors, it can still remove sugar from the blood of type 2 diabetics. Vanadyl sulfate also has the ability to open closed insulin receptors as it carries the sugar out of the blood. The recommended dose of vanadyl sulfate is 50mg 3 times daily with meals.
____Magnesium may also help prevent diabetic related heart disease due to magnesium's role in helping to regulate blood sugar levels, and by helping prevent damage to blood vessels due to the strong blood vessel constricting effects of insulin. Most of the serious side effects of diabetes are due to rupturing of blood vessels, or blood vessel damage, due to elevated levels of insulin in the blood. These side effects include diabetic retinopathy (loss of vision), renal (kidney) failure, gangrene, and heart disease.
_For supplemental vitamins for cancer I recommend 1,000mg of ___vitamin C with ___bioflavonoids 3 times daily with meals. ___Amla berry is the preferred source of vitamin C since the vitamin C in amla is stabilized by the polyphenols in the berries, and it is 12 times stronger than synthetic vitamin C. Most of the vitamin C on the market is synthesized from sugar, and is not very stable and therefore breaks down fairly quickly [even before you buy it].
_Sugars, including honey should also be limited since sugar suppresses immune function. This occurs because both sugar and vitamin C require insulin for transport. When sugar is consumed insulin is tied up making it unavailable for vitamin C transport. When vitamin C cannot reach the white blood cells, white blood cell activity is lowered decreasing immunity. If a sweetener is desired then I recommend the herb ___stevia, or stevia extract. The sugar molecules in stevia are too large to be absorbed and therefore they do not affect blood sugar or immunity. You only need a small amount of stevia due to the intense sweetness of the herb.
_Sugar and vitamin C require insulin for transport. Excess sugar locks up the available insulin preventing proper transport of vitamin C to white blood cells for their proper function. Reduce sugar & carbs to improve immune system & to reduce malignancy. Sugars suppress white blood cell activity and elevated blood sugar can promote malignant growth.

__BLOOD VESSEL ISSUES
___VITAMIN K2 CONTROLS REMOVAL OF CALCIUM FROM ARTERIES
http://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1709580
Regular intake of Vitamin K2 from supplements, ___natto, ___Edam and ___Gouda cheeses should prevent the development of arteriosclerotic plaques and thus be able to prevent disability and deaths from arteriosclerosis. Taking a slice of these cheeses daily is a pleasant good health habit.

__BONE PAIN, HEALING
http://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1546553#i
Licorice root and yucca root are strong steroidal anti-inflammatories applied topically for pain. Wintergreen oil and Cayenne are weaker. For chronic pain use DL-phenylalanine (DLPA). It takes about two weeks to kick in, but the pain relieving effects are long term. Start with 1000mg 3 times daily at least 30 minutes before meals, then cut back to 500mg 3 times daily after 2 weeks.
_Heat and cold can help pain too. Put hot water in a rubber container (or hot water bottle) and keep it on the painful area for ten minutes or more. Then put ice or cold water in a similar container and apply for another ten minutes or so. Then repeat the process for half an hour or so twice a day.
_Silica is the most important mineral to heal bone. Foods high in silica are bananas, oats, rice bran and other brans.
__BONES
Boron is good for bone strength and hormones.
__BONE ISSUES
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1541508#i
_Silica is absolutely essential for the formation of cartilage, bone, tendons and ligaments. Silica itself though is poorly absorbed, especially in the elderly and in those using antacids and acid blockers due to insufficient stomach acid. Therefore taking your silica containing supplements with a source of acid is a real good idea. You can use a little unbuffered ascorbic acid (vitamin C) or some cider vinegar to enhance silica absorption. Bamboo, which is 7 times higher in silica than horsetail grass, or purified diatomaceous earth, which is pure silica, are good silica sources.
_Vitamin C is also essential for the formation of cartilage proteins and connective tissue.
_Sulfur is needed for the production of cartilage proteins and connective tissues.
_Manganese is also required for cartilage formation.
_Zinc and copper are required as catalysts, but they are only needed in trace amounts.
_Seaweeds, nettle leaf, and alfalfa are all good sources for these nutrients.
_Glucosamine is good in the sulfate form. Though it is extremely slow to take effect. In general it takes at least 4 months to really start seeing results. And again keep in mind that sufficient stomach acid is required to properly absorb glucosamine. Therefore antacids, acid blockers, alkaline waters, and age can all decrease or block absorption of glucosamine.
_I do not like chondroitin. Though it is a component of cartilage it is not absorbed well enough to be of much benefit. Only about 8% of chondroitin is typically absorbed. This is why I prefer using the building blocks, such as silica, to help build cartilage. I also find that it is faster, probably in part due to higher levels of intake compared to the average dose of glucosamine and chondroitin normally taken.
_A final note, both glucosamine and chondroitin are found in gelatin. Gelatin also provides additional protein for the formation of bone and cartilage. So gelatin makes an excellent substitute for glucosamine and chondroitin, and is less expensive. But I am not talking about gelatins full of sugar, since sugar breaks bones down. I am talking about straight gelatin, which can be mixed in a little juice for flavor, added to some foods, or sweetened with stevia.

__BRAIN FOG
_This is [often] associated with ... thyroid problems. The herbs used, especially for parasites, often contain black walnut hull. This is the highest herbal source of iodine, which can help the thyroid. This in turn can help with the brain fog.
_Some good herbs for brain function include gotu kola, juniper berry, rosemary, and periwinkle.

__BRONCHITIS, PNEUMONIA
To clear up lung infections mix equal parts of chaparral, thyme, and horseradish powders. Blend them well then fill some capsules. In one of the empty capsules add 8 drops of pure eucalyptus essential oil. Recommend 1 capsule with the 8 drops of oil 3 times daily with the herb capsules. You will exhale the oils killing any fungus, bacteria, or virus in the lungs. The longest I have ever seen this take for pneumonia or bronchitis is 3 days. Only take it as needed. Remember to stay hydrated to keep the mucous in the lungs fluid so it can be expelled with the pathogens.

__BRUISING
_Red or purplish spots under skin, bruises easily, subcutaneous bleeding.
fits the description exactly: They recommended Vit 'C' which i suspected, bioflavonoids and rutin, grape seed extract, glucosamine and alkalizer. The alkalizer part worried me a bit.
_Alkalinizing or glucosamine will not do anything for this. Vitamin C with bioflavonoids, especially rutin is the most beneficial as well as silica. Grape seed extract is just another source of bioflavonoids.
_I have been taking vit C but not doing much.
_It cannot do its job without the flavonoids and silica.
_you said about acreola cherry. What do you think of grape seed extract.
_Again just an expensive source of flavonoids. Acerola will give you both the vitamin C and the flavonoids. You can also get both from food sources or other herbs such as watercress and nettle leaf.
_I eat peppers, but don't eat much fruit at the moment due to candida. I'm not that keen on kiwis but i'll eat them if i must, as i know they are high in C.
_Make sure the peppers are ripe. And stick to bell peppers, since hot peppers thin the blood. There is no such thing as a ripe green bell pepper. All bell peppers will develop some other color than green when ripe. Watercress is also rich in vitamin C and low in sugar.
_Do i need to take Rutin seperately do you think or will it be in the fruits i eat.
_It is generally in the fruits you eat, especially berries. Although it is also a breakdown product of the flavonoid quercetin. Best quercetin sources? Watercress, yellow onion skins and nettle leaf.
__BRUISING
_Another thing I want to add is she bruises easily somtimes, like it's coming from nowhere.
_Easy bruising often indicates a lack of __vitamin C and/or __silica. Although some drugs can also increase bruising such as Coumadin (Warfarin) and aspirin.

Health / TRUTH IN MEDICINE 3: SPECIAL REMEDIES
« Last post by Admin on February 07, 2021, 02:27:27 pm »
PART 3. ____ ____ REMEDIES, NUTRIENTS

(NOTE: This ** double asterisk means not from Sloane)

__REM: ANDROGRAPHIS [paniculata]
Antithrombotic (blood clot preventative)
Thrombolytic (blood clot buster)
Antiviral (inhibits viral activity)
Cancerolytic (fights, even kills, cancer cells)
etc, etc.
See http://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1567357

__REM: ANTIHISTAMINES
Many foods are naturally antihistamine including ___+yellow onions, watercress, green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, squash, strawberries, tomatoes, deep cold water fish
http://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1591027
- http://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1654731
Histamine is found in a wide range of foods either naturally, such as ___spinach and ___nightshades, or during natural or induced fermentation of foods through the action of bacteria on the amino acid histidine. The reason we do not all have issues with dietary histamine is because diamine oxidase in the gut breaks down histamine. A lack of DAO therefore can lead to histamine issues with food.
- The donation of a methyl group by methyl donors, such as ___TMG and choline, inactivate histamine.
- Epinephrine released from the adrenals is a natural antihistamine through its elevating cyclic adenosine monophosphate.
- Dehydration, diuretics including caffeine and low copper levels can also lead to increased histamine levels. Excess copper though can be dangerous so supplementing with copper needs to be done carefully.
- Vitamin C and ___quercetin are both great. Vitamin C will help support the adrenals and quercetin is a natural antihistamine.
- ___TMG is stronger and cheaper than SAMe. ___Choline bitartrate is also a good choice for a methyl donor, although lower doses are required.
- As far as histamine goes the plant sterols are going to be the most beneficial due to their effects on the adrenals. ___Nettle leaf is also good since it is nutrient rich including sterols, supports the adrenal glands and is a natural antihistamine.
___Nettle Leaf: [Cut growing nettle and let it wilt to prevent stinging.]

__REM: ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES
_chaparral, pau d' arco, amla berry, turmeric, phyllanthus, picrorrhiza, bupleurum

__REM: ANTIVIRALS, ANTIBIOTICS, ANTIFUNGALS
_chaparral, pau d' arco, amla, turmeric, myrrh, dulse, schisandra berry, poke root (small doses), licorice root (small doses), phyllanthus, picrorrhiza

__**REM: BLACK SALVE, AMAZON [[not from Sloane]]
zinc chloride (ZnCl2),
chapparal (Larrea mexicata leaf [contains active principle:
NDGA (nordihydrogauaretic acid, 17% by weight)]),
glycerine (used as a humectant, to keep the product moist),
graviola leaf extract (distilled water, Annona muricata),
oleander leaf extract (distilled water, Nerium oleander), and
sanguinaria root powder (Sanguinaria canadensis).

__REM: CALCIUM; MAGNESIUM
SOURCES on Ca & Mg
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1445897#i

__REM: CREAM OF TARTAR
Does Cream of Tatar have side effects besides loose stools? For the most part it is pretty safe. In high doses it will cause the loose stools, which can lead to electrolyte imbalances so I would not recommend doses high enough to cause diarrhea. Cream of tartar could also be an issue for people taking potassium sparing diuretics, since the cream of tartar could lead to excess potassium.

__REM: CLEANSE/DETOX, INTERNAL
_What's the best way to detox for general health?
_I prefer bitters as the primary method of cleansing. The bitters have a slightly stimulating effect on the intestines and cleanse the liver. Cleansing the liver helps to cleanse the rest of the body. If someone wants additional help the best blood cleansers are chaparral, hydrangea root, and red clover. For the lymphatic system red root (New Jersey tea), mullein leaf, octotillo, and chickweed. For the kidneys water is the most important. If there are stones I like nettle leaf or chanca piedra (Phyllanthus niruri). And again, water is important regardless of the type of cleanse.
_I don't work with clays. They are very adsorbant, but they are also high in carbonates. These can affect the stomach acid adversely and can damage the skin by removing the skin's normal acid mantle.
_Bitters and water on a regular basis is still your best bet. And remember to maintain your intestinal flora.
_Sometimes rapid detoxification will cause more garbage to get dumped in to the bloodstream from the liver and fat cells. Some of this gets eliminated through the skin where it reacts with the bacteria leading to acne. Remember to drink plenty of water to facilitate the removal of the toxins and again zinc is great for acne.
__REM: CLEANSE/DETOX
https://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1491205
_Salt baths once a week can detoxify the body. And it does not need to be magnesium sulfate or baking soda. Sea salt and other salts can also work. The least expensive salts to use are water conditioner salts. You can pick up a 50 pound bag of sea salt for water softeners for about $4.
_The amount of salt is important though. Remember osmosis from chemistry? Water will go from a higher concentration of purity to a lower concentration of purity trying to reach equilibrium. So if the water is salted heavily enough to create more salinity in the body then the saltwater will draw water from the body. Since water is a solvent it can carry the toxins dissolved in it with it as the water is drawn out of the body. If low concentrations of salt is in the water though it can absorb in to the body, which is why the magnesium oil works.
_Drinking plenty of water is really important when you are detoxifying.
__MUSCLE TESTING
I feel it works, but the tester can influence the outcome of the results in the same way concious thoughts of an answer can influence a pendulum. So I woud not trust it if the person is selling the products the testing says you need or if they are one of those one cause for all diseases types.

__REM: CORDYCEPS
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1849678#i
_Cordyceps is used to treat coughs, chronic bronchitis, respiratory disorders, kidney disorders, nighttime urination, male sexua| problems, anemia, irregular heartbeat, high cholesterol, liver disorders, dizziness, weakness, ringing in the ears, unwanted weight loss and opium addiction.
_It is also used for strengthening the immune system, improving athletic performance, reducing the effects of aging, promoting longer life and improving liver function in people with hepatitis B. Some people use cordyceps as a stimulant, a tonic and an "adaptogen," which is used to increase energy, enhance stamina and reduce fatigue.
_Further, ... cordyceps has been used in Eastern medicine for centuries to aid in the treatment of various autoimmune, pulmonary, cardiovascular and other illnesses.
_An overview of studies on cordyceps have showed the following:
- Elderly patients with asthenia had significant improvements in fatigue, dizziness and intolerance to cold, tinnitus, frequent nocturia, hyposexuality and amnesia at a dose of 3g.
- There was an improved quality of life in a study of 64 chronic heart-failure patients at a dose of 3-4g of cordyceps.
- Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease had improvements in their pulmonary symptoms, appetite and energy.
- Several studies showed significant improvements in all respiratory symptoms at a dose range of 3-4.5g of cordyceps. - Improvements were in shortness of breath, cough and expectoration and sleep.
- There was improved renal function in 30 patients with chronic renal failure. - Improvements were seen in creatinine clearance, blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine and reduction in urinary protein.
- In patients with lung cancer, cordyceps administered at 2-3g resulted in more patients completing radiation and chemotherapy compared to control group.

__REM: EGGS
_Are eggs best partly cooked, fully cooked or raw for preserving vitamin values?
_Partially cooked. Raw egg whites contain avidin that binds biotin preventing the body from using the biotin. Raw egg whites are also a trypsin inhibitor source. But cooking inactivates both the avidin and the trypsin inhibitors.
_Raw egg yolks are good for victims of strokes and seizures. The choline is part of the lecithin of the yolk. So for strict vegetarians soy lecithin or dandelion flowers make a great alternative.

__REM: ESSENTIAL OILS
- https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1586365#i
_There are oils that reduce stress. And reducing stress can benefit the adrenals. Great choices are orange oil, clary sage and lavender oils.
_Any other suggestions on methods used to reach the respiratory tract with oils? I generally use them internally and let them be exhaled out. This is the basis for my respiratory infection formula using the chaparral, thyme, horseradish root and eucalyptus oil. The thyme and horseradish root are the herbal essential oil sources.
_I would use small amounts of the eucalyptus oil and thyme essential oil in a capsule and swallow it. For the average adult I recommend 8 to 10 drops of eucalyptus oil and 6 drops of thyme oil 3 times daily. The oils will enter the bloodstream and will be exhaled out. Try to breathe through your nose to force the oils in to the sinuses to kill any mold or fungus in the sinus cavity. Going from the inside out will also allow the oils to reach deeper than you will with an inhaler.
_I have always used wintergreen straight. It is not irritating to the skin as some essential oils can be. If you do want a carrier oil then I recommend doing a 1:1 dilution. You can use olive oil since most people have this on hand, but sunflower oil is better as it penetrates better.
_The only brand I go out of my way to avoid is Aura Cacia. I personally have never liked the quality of their oils.
_I have taken up to 15 drops without harm
- https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1687092#i
_The more times you have to open the bottle the more air/oxygen you expose the oil to increasing oxidation. If you buy larger bottles pour the oil in to smaller bottles, which will still save money and will extend the shelf life as most of the oil will not be exposed until opened. And once opened keep the oil refrigerated.

__REM: FOLATE
https://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1811791
_Methylation is a key biochemical process that is essential for the proper function of almost all of your body's systems. It occurs billions of times every second; it helps repair your DNA on a daily basis; it controls which genes are turned on or turned off; it controls homocysteine (an unhealthy compound that can damage blood vessels); it helps recycle molecules needed for detoxification; and it helps maintain mood and keep inflammation in check.
_To keep methylation running smoothly you need optimal levels of B vitamins. Without enough B vitamins methylation breaks down, and the results can be catastrophic. In these cases we see more birth defects like spina bifida (as with the Chinese babies), more cases of Down's syndrome, and more miscarriage.
_A breakdown in methylation also puts you at higher risk for conditions like osteoporosis, diabetes, cervical dysplasia and cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, depression, pediatric cognitive dysfunction (mood and other behavioral disorders), dementia, and stroke. And like Mr. Roberts and Mr. McNally, you may be at higher risk for cardiovascular disease.
_To avoid all of these problems, the key is to optimize methylation. That means avoiding the things that cause your methylation to break down, testing to find out how well your methylation is working and including the things that support proper methylation.
_Factors that Affect Your Methylation Process:
_Poor diet. The word "folate" comes from "foliage." You need to eat plenty of leafy greens, beans, fruit, and whole grains to get adequate levels of vitamins B6 and B12, betaine and folate (all in the right nature made forms). Egg yolks, meat, liver and oily fish are the main dietary sources of vitamin B12 -- so long-term vegan diets can be a problem. Plus, certain compounds can raise levels of homocysteine and deplete the B vitamins. These include excess animal protein, sugar, saturated fat, coffee and alcohol. Irradiation of food depletes nutrients, so foods treated this way may be lower in B vitamins, too.
_Other conditions. These include hypothyroidism, kidney failure or having only one kidney, cancer and pregnancy.
_Get more Bs in your diet. Good food sources include sunflower seeds and wheat germ (vitamin B6), fish and eggs (vitamin B6 and B12), cheese (B12), beans and walnuts (vitamin B6 and folate), leafy dark green vegetables, asparagus, almonds, whole grains (folate) and liver (all three).
_Avoid caffeine. Excess amounts can deplete your B vitamin levels.
_Keep the bacteria in your gut healthy. Take probiotic supplements and use other measures to make sure the bacteria in your gut are healthy so you can properly absorb the vitamins you do get.
_Improve stomach acid. Use herbal digestives (bitters) or taking supplemental HCl.
_Take supplements that prevent damage from homocysteine. Antioxidants protect you from homocysteine damage. Also make sure you support methylation with supplements like magnesium and zinc.
_Also the importance of B vitamins seems to indicate even more why proper flora is important. Because from my researcch a proper gut flora pump out and synthesize tons of B vitamins.
_Yes, including B12. The flora also produce vitamin K.

__REM: GUMS
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1583801#i
_Chew on xylitol gum frequently, or sucking on zinc tablets. Zinc tablets don't taste very good but you get used to the taste. The zinc helps to kill the bacteria, freshen the breath and promotes healing of the gums. If you can find 10mg tablets these would be the best since this will allow you to suck on them several times daily without going overboard on dosage.

__REM: HEALING, DISTANCE SPIRITUAL
Practice Quantum Touch to become stronger at it, then distance healing should be easy.

__REM: HAWTHORN
_I read a post where you stated to avoid standardized extracts of herbs
_Is Hawthorn an adaptogen, and worth taking.
_I would not even consider it a real adaptogen. But as far as the plant goes the flowers are the most active. And combining the berries with the flowers and leaves potentiates the different parts.
Smaller, frequent doses work better so you don't get the sudden peaks and drops. If you can cut that dosage and half and then use it three to four times daily on an empty stomach you should get much better results.
_The herbs I recommended can be taken long term. And they are again best taken in smaller (especially the polysaccharide rich herbs), more frequent doses. At least 3 times daily and on an empty stomach at least 20 minutes before meals.
_Are there any other adaptogens, herbs, or even supplements that you would recommend to help my CNS return to a normal homeostatic state?
_Although I love schisandra and it is one of my favorite adaptogenic herbs it is not a good idea to take with autoimmune disorders due to the immune stimulating polysaccharides.
_In place of Valium, you can substitute 1g glycine to do the same thing. Glycine also helps to heal tissues and can be taken as needed or several times a day if you also want it for the tissues such as bone that is deteriorated by high cortisol. Glycine should be taken on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before meals.
_A few additional things I would recommend are:
_Nettle leaf, which supports the adrenals and thyroid and is slightly calming.
_Vitamin C sources to suppress cortisol and support the adrenals. Herbal sources include acerola cherry, rosehips, watercress and amla. Food sources include papaya, kiwis and berries like blueberries and gooseberries.
_Phytoestrogens also suppress cortisol. Flaxseed and soy are both rich sources. The drawback is that they suppress the thyroid unless cooked or fermented. Soy products though are generally cooked and/or fermented. Phytoestrogens are found in a number of other sources including pomegranates, grapes, yams, peas, seaweeds, parsley, sage, garlic, peaches, etc.
_Siberian ginseng is pretty good except it also contains immune stimulating polysaccharides. So its use needs to be limited in autoimmunity. The jiaogulan you are taking is a better choice and I recommend adding suma. Jiaogulan is a better adaptogen than Siberian ginseng due to the high level of sterols in it. The reason I recommend suma is not only because it is adaptogenic, but it is also the highest herbal source of organic germanium (OG). OG helps the cells to utilize oxygen more efficiently. This in turn elevates cellular ATP to help the cells to function properly. Recommended dose is going to depend on the form you use. I do not like standardized extracts or tinctures. Powders are my first choice followed by capsules.
_You can also use magnesium malate to increase cellular ATP. Recommended dose here is 300mg twice daily.
_Licorice root is one of the best adaptogens available. And it can also help suppress cortisol by strengthening the adrenals. But yes, it can prolong cortisol and Prednisone. I still recommend licorice root, but in small doses in conjunction with other adaptogens. And you want the Chinese variety (G. uralensis), which is more calming, not the stimulatory American variety (G. glabra).

__REM: HERBS
___Ashwagandha helps convert T4 to T3 by the thyroid and supports the adrenals.
___Licorice root has many great benefits. I prefer the Chinese variety (G. uralensis), which is more calming than the American variety (G. glabra). Licorice kills viruses and bacteria, raises interferon, is a steroidal anti-inflammatory, helps other herbs to absorb and function better, etc.
___Watercress is extremely nutritious; highest herbal source of quercetin, antihistamine; promotes weight loss; antiviral; breaks down in to rutin that strengthens the blood vessels; supports the adrenals.
___Nasturtium is very nutritious, and a great antiseptic.
___Burdock Root: The best would be to use the powder and my second choice would be a tea. If you use the powder I recommend a half to one teaspoon three times daily at least 20 minutes before meals. If you want to make a tea boil a teaspoon of the cut root in a cup and a half of water for 15 minutes with the pan covered. Then turn off the heat and allow it to cool. With the extra water it should thicken up but not gel like would happen if a teaspoon was used per cup of water. You can drink this throughout the day along with extra water. By the way there are much stronger blood cleansers. The most effective is chaparral followed by hydrangea root. I do not fool with liquid extracts very often. They tend to be less effective and have shorter shelf lives than herbal powders. Burdock root contains beneficial polysaccharides, inulin, sterols, mucilages, antibiotic polyacetylenes, beneficial acids, etc. Burdock root is actually considered one of the best blood purifiers only being behind chaparral in effectiveness.
___Fennel: a small handful of herbs that will affect breast fat such as fennel, goat's rue, fenugreek, wild yam and geranium.
_Kefir Herbs: Some herbs can be combined with kefir without an issue such as ___plantain leaf, ___dandelion leaf, ___thistle, ___coriander, ___dill, ___fennel, ___anise and ___ginger. But cardamon, caraway and turmeric are strong antibacterial herbs, and so are more likely to kill the good bacteria.
___Chamomile has been shown to help with lowering blood sugar levels in diabetics. But this is probably due to the anti-inflammatory effects of the chamomile increasing insulin sensitivity, and again not due to its effects on serotonin levels.
___Sage: Studies have shown that after taking sage for two to six hours people felt more alert, calm, and relaxed. Higher and lower dosages seem to have a positive affect on people’s feelings. Sage also helps people to recall things and events much better and quicker. Sage has a positive affect on memory and reaction times. The effects of sage can last up to four hours. Sage has been proven to have some benefits on Alzheimer’s disease, which could be considered the worst possible case of deterioration in mood and memory. People who take sage may have better cognitive function than those taking placebo. Sage can also be used as a mouth rinse to treat inflammation of the mucous membranes of the nose and throat. ___Lemon Balm Is Complementary to Spanish Sage; it stimulates the brain’s acetylcholine receptors. There are a lot of different sages. The ones you want are either the ___Spanish sage or ___dalmation sage, which is the common sage you buy for cooking. It is the leaf that is used.
___Yucca root is high in fiber and is a steroidal anti-inflammatory.
___Bamboo is 7 times higher in silica than horsetail grass, but I recommend this because it is a much safer silica source. Bamboo actually dilates the blood vessels increasing circulation.
___Dandelions. Some herbicides are very stable and can remain in the soil literally for decades. You may want to get some peroxide and spray your yard good to help oxidize some of the chemicals residue that may still be present. At least a small area where you plan to grow your dandelions.

__REM: JIAOGULAN
http://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1659145#i
_Take Jiaogulan tea as a bitter to cleanse the liver.
_The sterols in jiaogulan also support the adrenals and help control Candida.

__REM: JUNIPER BERRIES
_Juniper berries are also a bitter, antifungal, adrenal and pancreatic support and they lower blood sugar reducing insulin needs.

__REM: IMMUNE STIMULANTS
_chaparral, pau d' arco, bupleurum, astragalus, myrrh, picrorrhiza, poke root (small doses), licorice root (small doses), schisandra berry, dulse, maitake

__REM: LEMONGRASS
Benefits of Lemongrass Tea
_Lemongrass has been used in South Asian cooking since a long time. It is known to have a calming effect on the body, thereby helps in inducing sleep and curing insomnia. Lemongrass is also anti-bacterial and anti-fungal in nature, which makes it an effective remedy for a wide variety of complaints. Lemongrass tea, provides relief from nausea, severe menstrual cramps and acts as a diuretic too. Lemongrass tea health benefits are, detoxification of liver, pancreas, kidneys, bladder and the digestive tract. Lemongrass tea also helps in maintaining normal cholesterol levels in the body, toxins, excess fats and improves digestion. Lemongrass also finds a place in Ayurvedic medicine for its innumerable properties, relieving common cold and cough being the famous ones. Read more on lemongrass oil uses.
_Lemongrass tea has been an ancient remedy for curing chest congestion, colds and coughs. A concoction, called as, 'kadha' is given to the patient to help him get rid of the common cold. Also, if you add a dash of pepper to lemongrass tea, it will help you ease all menstrual problems like cramps and nausea. Interestingly, lemongrass tea benefits in acne prevention and in dealing with other skin problems too. Studies have shown drinking lemongrass tea on a regular basis, prevents the skin from developing any acne or pimples. This is true, as acne is a result of bacteria, and the anti-bacterial nature of the tea, helps the skin to look good and feel good.
_How to Make Lemongrass Tea
_Ingredients: Clumps of lemongrass; Water, 1 cup; Milk, if desired; Sugar or honey, as per taste; Strainer Method:
Peel the outer layer of the leaves and discard them. The outer layers, will give your tea a bitter taste. Boil the water and add the clumps of peeled leaves to it. Let the water boil on a slow heat for around twenty minutes. This extracts all the essence of the leaves. Add the sweetener and boil it for another 5 minutes. If you want, you can add some milk at this point. Remove from the stove, strain it in a cup and drink it hot. You can also serve iced lemongrass tea. Go along with the suggested lemongrass tea recipe, let it cool and serve it with ice. If you are making it iced lemongrass tea, refrain from adding milk.

__REM: LIVER PROTECTANTS AND REGENERATORS
_turmeric, milk thistle seed, schisandra berry, bupleurum, artichoke leaf
__REM: LIVER CLEANSE
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1474222#i
_To cleanse the liver in this case I would go with the herb bupleurum, which does not have to contact the tongue to cleanse the liver.

__REM: MINERALS
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1864479#i
_Nettle powder, Seaweeds & alfalfa are excellent mineral sources.

__REM: NETTLE LEAF
_Nettle leaf is very nutritious. It is sometimes cooked and used as a pot herb. It also makes an excellent iced tea when steeped overnight with a little lemon grass and a touch of stevia. Nettle leaf not only supports the adrenals but also the liver, kidneys, thyroid, bones, cartilage, hair, teeth, skin.... It is rich in silica, sulfur, vitamin C, B vitamins, minerals and trace minerals as well as antiviral and antihistamine quercetin. It is also a mild steroidal anti-inflammatory.

__REM: OMEGA OIL
https://chriskresser.com/the-fish-vs-fish-oil-smackdown/
_For those who are generally healthy and want to stay that way, I think reducing omega-6 consumption and eating a moderate amount of oily fish (2-3 6 oz. portions per week) is the best choice. This will get you plenty of EPA & DHA along with high quality protein, selenium and vitamin D. If wild salmon is out of your price range, mackerel and sardines are both high in EPA and DHA and certified by the MSC as safe to eat.
_For those who have a chronic, inflammatory condition such as cardiovascular disease or an autoimmune disorder, I would recommend a combination of whole fish (perhaps the same 2-3 6 oz. portions per week) along with a high quality fish oil. This ensures that you are getting the benefits of whole fish along with the added therapeutic effect of higher doses of DHA and EPA. Somewhere around 1.5g per day of DHA would be a good therapeutic dose, which would mean taking 1g/day of DHA in fish oil capsules in addition to the three 6 oz. portions of oily fish.

__REM: OMEGA3
___Chia Seeds: 2,457 mg/T (61% DV)
___Salmon (wild): 1,716 mg/3oz (42% DV)
___Flaxseeds: 1,597 mg/T (39% DV)
__REM: OMEGA-3
Some people have reported success in treating their EFA associated anxiety, from fish oil and flax oil, by taking ___taurine, which is an inhibitory amino acid like GABA. Another option is to take the ___amino acid phenylalanine, which lowers serotonin. These should allow you to take the EFA sources without the anxiety.
- Taurine on the other hand relaxes blood vessels lowering the blood pressure.
Taurine does the same thing as GABA as far as preventing anxiety. If you take ___DLPA, ___taurine, or ___GABA they should be taken on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before meals. And the EFAs are best taken with your meals.

__REM: OZONE
- https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1591550#i
A study in Germany followed a number of people receiving ozone therapy. There were over 6.5 million doses given between all the patients and just over 30 adverse reactions reported. Most of these were minor such as irritation at the injection site. No mainstream therapy has anywhere near this safety record.

__REM: PAU D'ARCO
And you need to physically boil the bark for 20 minutes covered. Steeping the bark in hot water will not extract it. I use a heaping tablespoon of the bark per quart of water. Bring the water to a rapid boil and add the bark. Cover the pot but keep it at a rapid boil for 20 minutes. Then turn off the heat and let it sit until cooled. You can sweeten the tea with stevia. Then drink the tea throughout the day.

__REM: POTASSIUM
The problem with some potassium sources is that they can cause ulcerations of the stomach. This includes prescription potassium, which is potassium chloride. I have never heard of this being an issue with potassium supplements, which are potassium gluconate. So the real poison is prescription potassium.

__REM: PSYCHIC HERBS
(Not from Sloane) 6 Herbs for Improving Your Psychic Abilities
1. Ginger makes your body into an antenna to receive spirit messages
2. Gotu Kola prepares your mind to decipher the messages you are receiving
3. Wood Betony strengthens the throat chakra and clears your channel to receive
4. Ginkgo deals specifically in your clairvoyant center, where you will see the message very clear and lucid
5. Skullcap puts your mind at rest and lets the information flow organically and the messages to be understood as they are intended
6. Elder leaf, flower, and berries are for connecting with spirits of the earth like fairies and gnomes
Respect and admiration for these plants will jump start your journey into unworldly realms. To begin working with any of the herbs in the post, you may purchase the dried herb varieties, preferably organic, and steep them as a loose tea, either individually or combined.

__REM: QUANTUM TOUCH
Even if you don’t even know how to do Quantum Touch, just taking a series of deep breaths and exhaling through your hands, and put your hands on somebody with a lot of love, you’re gonna start seeing some results. Of course, it’ll get a lot stronger if you know more, but just keep the breathing going. Put your love in your hands and exhale through your hands, and you’ll automatically start getting some healing results right now without any further instruction. But, don’t stop the breathing because that’s how you keep your energy raised.
_Feel your hands. Put those hands on a painful or ailing area of the person receiving the healing. Inhale deeply. And exhale fully and strongly into your hands, “running the energy” into the other person. Keep on feeling, breathing and healing.
_Feel your heart area. Inhale deeply into your heart. Exhale deeply from your heart, to the other person, and to their pain, ailment or predicament. Do so with steady attention (a quality Richard equates with love) and with a specific healing intention. The person receiving the healing can be standing right next to you or thousands of miles away.
_Quantum Touch is not that heavily promoted. Korean accupressure, G-Jo, works great as well. But how many people have heard of it?
_Even things we have heard of are not widely used despite effectiveness. Ozone therapy is great for cancer, AIDS, herpes, hepatitis, burns, staph infections, pressure sores, etc. It is so effective it should be widely used in every hospital in the country. But again it cannot be widely promoted in this case due more to politics.
_Deep, rapid inhalations for a six count then a long slow exhalation after the sixth inhalation is a simple pattern. Again with practice you will become stronger and will no longer need to do these patterns. If you want to prove it to yourself practice on some cheap wine or vinegar and taste these before and after. This is a simple way to demonstrate and prove the Quantum Touch to yourself.
_ I found out in my 20s that I naturally ran the energy anyway when I was massaging the shoulders of a girl with rheumatoid arthritis that was in pain. Her pain disappeared and she said it had not come back. When I left there though my jaw had suddenly felt weird so I felt it with my hand and it was swollen out for three days. I later learned about grounding to prevent this from happening again. Anyway, I had other people tell me similar things when I worked on them, or would comment on the heat from my hands when I worked on them. So it was already happening, but learning Reiki helped to learn how to channel it better and about grounding. Then I learned QT, which I found to be so much faster and stronger than Reiki that I have never bothered with Reiki since. I just wish that QT was taught more widely like Reiki. When someone actually witnesses QT it is impossible to deny. There is just no other explanation for the bones moving back in to place when the person has not moved and the bones were not physically manipulated. I like that example because unlike with pain they cannot claim it is a placebo effect.
_Richard had told me about some cases of people's cancer being removed. This is something that would be interesting to experiment with as well.
_Reiki can work, again especially with practice. But I have never been impressed with Reiki due to how slow it is .
_ People can practice on plants, animals, wine, etc. And with practice people can find ways to amplify the energy through visualization, toning, etc. I prefer visualization myself, but each person has to find what works for them the best.
_A few tips.
_If you are trying to run the energy through leather, such as a belt it will not work. It is like the energy gets all sucked up in to the leather attempting to revive the dead animal. So have people remove any leather in areas you are doing the QT.
_Normally if doing QT there is a strong heat sensation, although it has been shown that there is no actual rise in temperature. Occasionally though it will suddenly feel ice cold instead. I finally figured out that this is an energy blockage. Move your hands around the area and do the QT for 10 seconds or so then go back to your original position. This usually corrects the problem. For example, let's say you are doing the knee so you start with a hand on each side of the knee. If it suddenly goes ice cold move your hands to the front and back of the knee and do the QT. Then go back to sides of the knee and you should feel the heat now. Otherwise focusing on the original hand placement longer than normal will generally work as well and you will eventually start feeling the heat. Or again, you can try visualization, toning or even the original breathing patterns you are taught to help amplify the energy to break through the blockage.
_I can think of a couple of simple tests. One is to have them demonstrate the QT on someone you bring with you that has really bad hip misalignment so you can see it yourself. It only takes about 20 seconds for the hips to realign themselves if the person can run the energy. Get down to hip level and place your fingers on the top of their hip bones. This will allow you to see how the hips are tilted. Then with the person remaining still right where they are at have then do the QT on the hips for 15-20 seconds. Then get back to eye level and check the hips again. They should be perfectly level or at least almost back to normal. Every once in a while I see cases where the hips remain a fraction of an inch off on the first try. This is what I did for my friend's chiropractor so he could see it, but I ran the energy through her misaligned hips and spine, which both straightened right out. And I just did this the other day for someone's dog who had a lower back vertebrae out. I had him feel the vertebrae, which was clearly out, before doing the QT. After 20 seconds I had him check the vertebrae again, which was no longer bulging. I personally do not charge for QT, but any practitioner should not hesitate to give some type of demonstration first to show what is possible.
_Another option is to have them run the energy through a glass of something like cheap wine or even vinegar. Taste them before and after. The QT takes the bitterness out totally changing the flavor.
_The longer someone practices this and the more they practice the stronger they become with it. When I first started I had to do the breathing patterns to amplify the energy and if I ate first, especially anything high in sugar I could not feel the energy. Now it does not matter. I do not use the breathing patterns and I can eat anything and it does not affect my ability to do the QT. But I learned this about 16 years ago.
_LI4 relieves pain, headaches etc. (LI-4 Large Intestine Meridian (Hegu) This short video shows how to locate it for acupressure*: youtube.com/watch?v=A-slw6XORJw ). This point also stimulates the bowels. Some people claim that it is this movement of the bowels that help detoxify the body helping with the headaches. I disagree though. It does not create a sudden urge to go, but it can help relive the headache right away.
_Another good point to know is between the tendons at the wrist to help stop hiccups. I have used that one a few times.
_I do not follow muscle testing. If people suspect you may need something it can influence the results.
__REM: QT
You will really love Quantum Touch. I find it so much stronger and faster than Reiki. And the more you practice it the stronger you will become. I learned it from Richard Gordon about 15 years ago. Originally I had to do the heavier breathing in cycles and I could not run the energy if I had eaten recently. Especially if I had eaten sugar. Now I can eat whatever without interfering with the energy and I don't have to do the heavy, rapid, breathing cycles. If you ever doubt that you are running the energy there is a simple way to prove it to yourself. Take a couple of glasses of cheap wine or even vinegar, and run the energy through one of the glasses. Then have someone taste both glasses. The liquid you run the energy through will have the bitterness removed. Fun thing to demonstrate at parties to freak people out.
_I like it for moving the bones back in to proper position and I find it works great for pain. I have heard some people have developed it well enough to work on cancer. It does not up your energy.

__REM: PERIWINKLE

__REM: SCHISANDRA
_What benefits does this have other than liver cleansing and stimulation?
_Schisandra also support the liver as well as the kidneys, adrenals, and vision. The polysaccharides boost the immune system, and the bioflavonoids help strengthen blood vessels and connective tissues. Strengthens the heart and brain, lowers blood pressure, lowers cholesterol, improves digestion, and is antioxidant. It is considered a longevity (youth tonic) in Chinese medicine, and is also used to treat impotence.

- Silica benefits. The silica from ___diatomaceous earth provides numerous benefits. Most of these benefits come from its role in collagen and elastin formation. Collagen is a protein that gives tissues strength, while elastin gives tissues elasticity. This is why it helps with wrinkles and strengthening the nails. By increasing collagen it gives these tissues strength, and the elastin restores the elasticity that is lost in the skin leading to wrinkles. It also helps with varicose veins and aneurysms for the same reason. Varicose veins and aneurysms result from a loss of collagen and elastin in the veins and arteries causing these blood vessels to balloon out. Along the same line silica helps to prevent arteriosclerosis by both strengthening arteries to prevent damage, and because of silica's anti-inflammatory properties. Emphysema results from a loss of elastin in the alveoli, and so is also helped by silica supplementation. It is the absolute most important nutrient for bone strength. Silica not only aids with calcium absorption, but it is also essential for the collagen matrix that gives the bones the majority of their strength. In addition the piezoelectric effect of silica is what allows mineralization of the collagen matrix. In other words, without sufficient silica all of the calcium, magnesium, phosphorus..... will not do anything for the bones. Silica can help prevent visual problems from aging due to loss of flexibility of the lens of the eye. It is great for tendonitis and other similar problems due to the strengthening and anti-inflammatory properties of silica. Silica also links together glucosamine molecules to form chondroitin molecules for the production of cartilage. these are a few of the beneficial properties of silica.
- As for absorption, silica does not absorb as silica but rather as orthosilicic acid. This is produced by the reaction of water on silica, though the presence of acid increases this conversion. The reason for many of our aging problems such as osteoarthritis, emphysema, diverticulitis, wrinkles, etc. are from declining silica levels in our tissues. This is a direct result of declining stomach acid levels, which decreases the conversion of silica (silicon dioxide) in to its absorbable and usable form orthosilicic acid. This is another good reason to avoid antacids, acid blockers, and alkaline waters and drinks such as sodium bicarbonate (baking soda).
- The absorption of silica is very poor so I found the best way to take it is by adding it to water to begin with. I put a large spoonful in a gallon of water and let it settle out. Once it settles out you cannot taste it. The water will dissolve a tiny amount of the silica to form the orthosilicic acid. The more pure the water is to begin with the more it will dissolve. This actually solves a few problems. First of all it reduces the solvency of purified waters (distilled and reverse osmosis) so they will not be as aggressive and rob your body of nutrients. This also helps to prevent purified waters from becoming as acidic from the carbon dioxide it will absorb from the air to form carbonic acid. Purified waters are notorious for this problem. Finally, the silica will help to strengthen tissues throughout the body and reduce inflammation. By adding it to a large volume of water you will also get more in to your system as opposed to supplements. If you take a capsule of silica the vast majority will never be absorbed and will just pass through your system. When added to water and drunk throughout the day you will absorb a little each time you drink your water. So in the long run you will end up with more silica entering the bloodstream for use by the body.
__REM: SILICA
_Silicon dioxide (SiO2), commonly known as silica, is one of the most common compounds on earth. The best known forms of silica are sand, quartz, and glass.
_Silica is essential to both plants and animals for integrity of their tissues. Although, silica must first be converted in to another compound, known as orthosilicic acid (Si(OH) 4), before it can be utilized in humans.
_Orthosilicic acid is formed in nature as silica is dissolved by water. Though, silica is poorly dissolved by water generally. The presence of acid increases the conversion of silica in to orthosilicic acid. In the human body, this acid is provided by the stomach. When silica is ingested from water or plant sources, stomach acid (hydrochloric acid) aids in the conversion of the silica in to orthosilicic acid. As we age though, stomach acid levels decline, leading to declining silica levels in the tissues. Antacids and acid blockers also decrease tissue silica levels for the same reason.
_Silica is essential for the formation of the proteins collagen and elastin. Collagen gives tissues strength, while elastin gives tissues elasticity. As levels of collagen and elastin decline, various disorders may occur. These include:
_Osteoporosis: Silica is a piezoelectric material that generates electricity under pressure. When the collagen matrix is stressed, which applies pressure on the silica molecules, an electrical current is generated that electrodeposits minerals in to the collagen matrix. This allows bone to gain density. As a component of collagen and elastin, silica also aids in giving bone its flexibility, and therefore much of bone's strength and shock absorption. Without silica, the bones would be unable to mineralize, and even if the bone could mineralize it would easily fracture like a piece of chalk. Silica aids in the absorption of calcium, and displaces the heavy metal lead, which is detrimental to bone. Although calcium is better known as an important nutrient for bones, silica is actually the most important nutrient for proper bone health and strength. Decreased silica levels leads to poor bone mineral deposition in bones, and loss of flexibility and shock absorption, increasing the risk of fracture.
_Osteoarthritis (joint inflammation): Silica is essential for the formation of cartilage, and its strength. Declining levels of silica lead to softening of cartilage, and increased risk of damage or deterioration to spinal discs and joint cartilage. In addition, silica has mild natural anti-inflammatory properties, which further helps prevent cartilage degradation.
_Emphysema: Loss of elastin in the lung alveoli prevents normal expansion and contraction of the alveoli.
_Diverticulitis (inflammation of the diverticuli): Loss of elastin in the intestinal diverticuli prevents these pouches from contracting back to their normal state. The anti- inflammatory effects of silica help reduce pain of diverticulitis.
_Tendonitis (inflammation of the tendons): Loss of collagen and elastin in tendons increases the risk of damage to tendons from overstretching and tearing. Silica can help reduce inflammation of the tendons.
__Silica: Diatomaceous Earth vs Horsetail Grass
_Silica is essential to the body, especially for the production of structural proteins including collagen and elastin. Structural proteins help give strength and elasticity to the hair, nails, bones, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, blood vessel walls, etc.
_The body does not absorb and utilize silica in the form of silicon dioxide. Instead, silica reacts with water to form small amounts of orthosilicic acid (OA), which is absorbed by both plants and animals for the formation of tissues. Although OA is not “silica” (silicon dioxide) in the scientific sense it is still referred to as silica. Especially when referring to OA in plants.
_The presence of acid increases the conversion of silica in to OA. In the body the primary acid source is stomach acid. Stomach acid declines with age though. This decreases the body’s ability to produce and absorb OA leading to loss of tissue integrity and elasticity frequently associated with “aging disorders”. The use of acid blockers or antacids such as acid heartburn medications, coral, dolomite, oyster shell or alkaline waters can further inhibit the production and absorption of OA.
_Primary dietary sources in animals for OA include mineralized water and fibers. OA is formed in natural water sources as water dissolves small amounts of silica in soils and rocks forming OA. OA in water is also taken up by plants where OA helps to give plants strength by incorporating as part of their fibers. When these fibers are ingested the OA in the fibers can be extracted for use by the body.
_Horsetail grass (shavegrass) is often incorrectly referred to as the highest herbal source of “silica”, as OA. The fact is that bamboo stalk is 7 times higher in silica than horsetail grass.
_Diatomaceous earth (DE) is another excellent source of silica, and also contains much higher levels of silica than horsetail. DE is the skeletal remains of phytoplankton and consists of 80% silica compared to the average 4% silica content for horsetail grass.
_As an herbalist I really do not recommend the use of horsetail grass as a silica source for several reasons:
_Some species of horsetail are very toxic
_Even the less toxic forms of horsetail grass can cause problems with long term use including nervous system disorders, headaches, loss of appetite and premature labor. In moderately high doses, or as a concentrate, horsetail grass can cause strong contractions of the blood vessels inhibiting blood flow to tissues.
Horsetail grass contains the enzyme thiaminase and the toxic alkaloid equisitine, both of which deplete thiamin from the body. Symptoms of thiamine deficiency include depression, lack of appetite, diarrhea, loss of muscle control, arrhythmias and tachycardia. Tinctures of horsetail pose even a greater risk as fresh plants are frequently used to make tinctures. Fresh horsetail contains higher level of toxic thiaminase and alkaloids. Thiaminase in particular is suspected in the poisoning of livestock ingesting horsetail grass. Although these poisonings are more likely due to toxic alkaloids, such as palustrine in horsetail grass, since ruminants can produce thiamine in the rumen.
_Thiaminase has also been shown to be toxic to the liver.
_Even though the amount of nicotine in horsetail is small, it does not take much nicotine to cause harm. Nicotine is one of the strongest central nervous system poisons known to man. It only takes 5mg to kill an adult human. To understand how small the amount really is needed to kill an adult consider the average single ‘O’ capsule normally used for capsuling herbs holds an average of 500mg. Because nicotine is also a powerful constrictor of blood vessels much lower levels can still be especially dangerous for some individuals. People with poor circulation to begin with such as diabetics, people with heart disease/failure, people with hypothyroidism and people with Raynaud’s disease or Raynaud’s phenomena are all more prone to the dangerous blood vessel constricting effects of horsetail grass.
_Horsetail grass is contradicted with the use of diuretics to prevent abnormally low potassium levels and stimulants like caffeine to prevent over stimulation of the nervous system.
_It is not clear if nicotine is the only component in horsetail grass that constricts the blood vessels. Other alkaloids present in horsetail may also contribute to this effect.
_As an example of this effect a friend of mine was a fitness trainer in excellent shape. After drinking 2 cups of horsetail tea she went to bed. She woke up shortly afterward ice cold because the horsetail grass tea had constricted her blood vessels, decreasing her blood flow.
_If an herbal source of silica is desired the best choice is bamboo stalk, which unlike horsetail grass dilates blood vessels. This makes bamboo a much safer choice for people with high blood pressure, conditions that reduce circulation or that are on contradicted medications.
_Other safe sources of silica include nettle leaf, oat straw and seaweeds.
_A better choice though is food grade DE. DE is higher in silica than herbs and does not contain any toxic enzymes or alkaloids as in the case of horsetail grass.
_Silica is poorly absorbed, but there are ways to increase levels in the body, even when stomach acid is low. A simple method is to add a spoon full of food grade DE to a gallon of water and allow the DE to settle to the bottom. This may take a few days initially. Pour the water you intend to drink from the top of the container, but be careful not to disturb the DE on the bottom of the container. Refill the container with water and allow it to settle out again. Keep repeating this process. A spoon full of DE should last several years if it is not poured off in the water.
_There are several advantages to this method. First of all, small amounts of the silica in the DE are dissolved in to the water every time new water is added forming OA. Secondly, because silica is poorly absorbed only a fraction of the silica from silica supplements will be absorbed. In addition, people will not take silica supplements as often as they will drink water each day. Adding the silica to water results in the formation of OA of which small amounts are absorbed each time a drink of the water is taken. This leads to significantly higher levels of OA absorption from drinking the water throughout the day compared to taking an occasional silica supplement.
_Is DE Toxic?
_Anything can be toxic is sufficient quantities or if used improperly. DE is only toxic though if inhaled repeatedly over long periods of time, which can lead to silicosis. This is actually a potential problem with other silica sources as well such as clays, which are formed from the weathering of silica containing rocks. Ingested DE has not been shown to be harmful though. In fact, DE has a long history of use in silica supplements and being ingested to eliminate intestinal worms in animals and people with no adverse effects.
_The reason DE kills intestinal worms without harming the intestinal wall is simple. Intestinal worms have much thinner and delicate tissues than the human digestive system. Worms therefore are prone to the abrasive effects of DE, unlike the human gastrointestinal tract. In fact, DE is considerably less abrasive than the fibers we ingest in our diets, which are less abrasive than horsetail grass. Horsetail grass is so abrasive that it is also known as scouring rush for its use in the pioneer days to clean pots and pans.
_DE is only slightly abrasive being more like ultrafine sandpaper used for polishing. For this reason it is commonly used in toothpaste to safely clean teeth.
_Other common uses of DE are:
 • Insect control in foods we consume.
 • As an anti-caking agent in foods.
 • An addition to animal feeds to keep livestock worm free without toxicity.
 • In cosmetics as a filler, opacifier and scrub agent since DE is not toxic and it will not harm the skin.
 • As an additive to some soaps.
 • As a flow agent and filler for the manufacturing of capsules and pills since it does not harm the digestive tract.
_Myths About DE
_Myth: DE is “agatized” silica and has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs hardness scale making it hard on the tissues.
_Fact: This false claim is based on the hardness of pure silica, which has a hardness of 7. DE is not pure silica though. It is comprised of 80% silica, 10% metal oxides and 10% moisture. The actual hardness of DE is actually quite low, 1 to 1.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, which runs from 1 (the softest) for talc to 10 (the hardest) for diamond. This can be verified on this link showing the hardness for various materials on the scale:
_Another way to look at this is bentonite clay is a weathering byproduct of rocks, and like DE contains silica and smaller quantities of other minerals. Despite the content of silica, bentonite has nowhere near a hardness of 7.
_As for the claim that DE is agatized silica, again this is not true. Agate is formed from extremely hot water supersaturated with silica, and possibly some magmatically dissolved silica. This dissolved silica deposits in to crevices or vugs within rocks or replaces organic matter in items such as shells or wood creating layers of hard silica.
_Again, DE is the skeletal remains of phytoplankton that have died and settled to the bottom of ancient oceans and lakes. These phytoplankton, nor their remains, were ever subjected to extremely hot water or magma to dissolve the silica and redeposit it as a quartz such as agate.
_Food grade DE is extremely soft having a hardness of 1-1.5, as pointed out earlier, far below the hardness of pure silica that has a hardness of 7. In addition, food grade DE consists of amorphous, not crystalline, silica. Amorphous silica is not as hard and sharp like crystalline silica and does not pose the same health risks as crystalline silica.
_Clumps of DE are also sold as kitty litter. If DE was so sharp and hard as claimed, cat’s paws would be shredded from scratching in the litter box. Of course this is not the case since the claims about DE being hard and sharp to the point of damaging tissues are simply untrue.
_Myth: Consuming silica causes kidney damage.
_Fact: I have heard people claim that they got kidney pain within minutes of ingesting DE. It is hard to say why they experienced this problem, but it was not from the silica in the DE as I have seen claimed. A simple fact of anatomy and physiology can prove this. Once ingested, the silicon dioxide in the DE has to convert in the stomach in to OA in order to be absorbed. When the stomach finally empties its contents in to the in intestines the OA can be absorbed. Next the OA circulates through the blood where most of the OA is utilized in the formation of tissues. Finally traces of OA can reach the kidneys for safe excretion. No damage occurs to the kidneys since the OA is not in a solid crystalline form that can cut thinner tissues of the kidneys. The whole process for the traces of OA to be absorbed and even smaller traces to reach the kidneys takes considerably longer than the few minutes people are claiming to get pain within.

__REM: SOY; PHYTOESTROGENS
_Soy: Fact and Fiction
_The internet has been such as savior and such a curse for people seeking factual information on health. On one hand the internet has made access to information so much easier than in the past. On the other hand though it has also made it considerably easier for people to post bogus information to fit whatever their whim is at the moment, or to aid in the sales of products.
_Unfortunately, more and more the internet has been cluttered up with bogus claims about diet and medicine. For example, the various claims about canola oil such as the myth that it was used to make mustard gas during World War II. Problem with this bogus claim is that mustard gas is not derived from any plant. It is a completely synthesized chemical compound.
_I have never seen anything dealing with diet or medicine that has had more false information posted about it than soy. Often there are claims made that some study said. ... But of course these studies are never presented making one wonder if they even exist. And when studies are presented they often do not show what is claimed or the test subject was given megadoses of an isolate, which is not even close to normal use. Therefore, I have put together this article to address some of the most common myths that have been circulating on the internet about soy.
_Fiction: Soy has only recently been used as a human food source.
_Fact: Soy has been cultivated and used for human food for over 5,000 years. The earliest preserved cultivated soybeans were found in Korea and were carbon dated to 1000–900 BC.
_Fiction: Soy is not a complete protein.
_Fact: The definition of “complete protein” is containing sufficient levels of all nine essential amino acids to meet dietary needs. Soybeans contain sufficient levels of all these essential amino acids and therefore is classified as a complete protein. If someone wants to change the definition of “complete protein” to mean containing all known amino acids then most foods would not be classified as complete proteins including milk (raw or pasteurized), beef, poultry and fish. The only food source I have seen containing all the amino acids is pollen.
_Even if soy was not a complete protein it would not matter unless your diet was strictly soy. But foods, including soy, are often eaten with other protein sources providing other amino acids that may not be found in an individual source.
_It has also been claimed that soy is deficient in the sulfur bearing amino acids methionine and cystine. Again this is not true. Soybeans contain 18 amino acids including methionine and cystine.
_Fiction: Soy is high in aluminum because they wash the soybeans in aluminum vats with sulfuric acid.
_Fact: I really got a kick out of reading this one. If anyone has ever really worked with sulfuric acid, then they know how nasty this acid can be!!! The acid is very hygroscopic and likes to turn organic materials, such as skin, in to carbon by stripping hydrogen and oxygen from the material to form water, leaving behind the carbon. If the soybeans were washed in sulfuric acid you would not have soybeans, you would have carbon balls.
_Secondly the acid would eat away the aluminum of the vats creating very dangerous amounts of free hydrogen gas. Not to mention the fact that they would have to be constantly replacing the vats that are being eaten away, which would be prohibitively costly in both replacement costs and downtime.
_Occasionally highly alkaline substances are used in the processing of soy that can interact with the aluminum drawing it in to the product. But again the cost of machining and changing out the aluminum parts is not cost effective so it is not a widespread practice.
_Fiction: Soy causes cancer.
_Fact: Phytoestrogens are plant based estrogenic substances. On average phytoestrogens are about 200 to 400 times weaker than the body’s own estrogen. So they have a duel effect by both acting as very weak estrogens and by locking up estrogen receptors to block the action of stronger and more dangerous estrogens. For instance Premarin (PREgnant MARes urINe), which is 3,000 times stronger than human estrogen, and xenoestrogens, such as dioxin and PCBs, which can be as high as 30,000 times stronger than human estrogens. By locking up estrogen receptors phytoestrogens prevent these stronger estrogens from causing cancer and other hormonally induced problems.
_I find it very interesting that there are people bashing soy for its phytoestrogen content, while promoting flax seed as a health food. Flax seed actually contains 2.5 times higher of a level of phytoestrogens than soy. And unlike soy, which is generally cooked and/or fermented reducing the phytoestrogen content, flax seed is eaten raw retaining the full content of phytoestrogens.
_Phytoestrogens are also widely present in our diets. A partial list of dietary phytoestrogens include sage, parsley, yams, peas, kudzu, beans, peanuts, seaweeds, carrots, bananas, oranges, millet, corn, barley, grapes, berries, baker's yeast, beets, pomegranates, cherries, garlic, oats, olives, peppers, wheat, sunflower seeds, flax seed, rye, spinach, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, quinoa, rhubarb, tomatoes, rice, plums, potatoes, papaya, dates, eggplant, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, anise, fennel, cucumber, peanuts, and onions.
Alcohols can also contain high levels of phytoestrogens. Especially beer, wine, gin, ouzo and whiskey.
_Other sources include red clover, licorice root, and numerous other herbs. In fact phytoestrogens have been isolated from over 350 different plants.
Phytoestrogen sources have a long history of being to treat cancer. For example, red clover blossom that contains the same phytoestrogens found in soy plus two others. Cruciferous vegetables and seaweeds that contain phytoestrogens and resveratrol, another phytoestrogen, have also been used in cancer treatment.
_There are also numerous studies backing the anti-cancer effects of soy. Here are links to just some of these studies:

_"There are growing body of experimental evidence that show the inhibition of human cancer cells by genistein through the modulation of genes that are related to the control of cell cycle and apoptosis. Moreover, it has been shown that genistein inhibits the activation of NF-kappa B and Akt signaling pathways, both of which are known to maintain a homeostatic balance between cell survival and apoptosis. Genistein is commonly known as phytoestrogen, which targets estrogen- and androgen-mediated signaling pathways in the processes of carcinogenesis. Furthermore, genistein has been found to have antioxidant property, and shown to be a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis and metastasis. Taken together, both in vivo and in vitro studies have clearly shown that genistein, one of the major soy isoflavones, is a promising reagent for cancer chemoprevention and/or treatment. "
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12813174
_"CONCLUSION: In a population-based, prospective cohort study in Japan, frequent miso soup and isoflavone consumption was associated with a reduced risk of breast cancer."
_"In conclusion, we found that isoflavone intake was associated with a decreased risk of localized prostate cancer."
_It is not just the phytoestrogens that give soy anti-cancer properties. There are other compounds including antiviral protease inhibitors. Numerous forms of human cancer have been linked to various viruses. Inactivating these viruses with protease inhibitors therefore could help find cancer. Same reason protease inhibitors are being used to treat suspected human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections, which is also a cancer virus. HIV was formerly known as human T-cell lymphoma/leukemia virus type 3 (HTLV-3).
_Fiction: The phytoestrogens in soy products have lead to the premature development of girls and impeded or delayed sexual development in boys.
_Fact: There is no evidence whatsoever to back this claim. The only studies that can be found that show any of these effects from foods are of meats and dairy that are often loaded with hormones that are hundreds or even thousands of times stronger than phytoestrogens. One news story had reported on this problem in Puerto Rico. Here girls as young as 8 were developing breasts, as well as many of the boys in the area. The source? The massive levels of estrogens in the chickens they were eating.
_Estrogens are given to farm animals to fatten them up and increase milk production. When we consume these meats and dairy we ingest these hormones. These estrogens in turn cause problems such as cancers, weight gain, thyroid dysfunction, blood clots, etc. These are all well known side effects of estrogens.
_Current research is also pointing to environmental xenoestrogens, which can be 30,000 to 100,000 times stronger than human estrogens, which themselves can be hundreds of times stronger than phytoestrogens. These xenoestrogens enter the environment from chemical sprays and industrial wastes and are found in plastics and shampoos to name a few.
_Fiction: Infants receiving soy milk receive the equivalent of five birth control pills a day.
_Fact: This is one of the most ludicrous claims I have heard yet, and of course the claim is never backed by any evidence. This is because you cannot present what does not exist.
_The estrogens found in birth control pills are 100 times stronger than human estrogen. And as pointed out previously, phytoestrogens such as those found in soy are 200-400 times weaker than human estrogens. Therefore, unless they feeding babies soy formula by the tanker load there is no possible to get the equivalent of five birth control pills per day.
_Fiction: Soy causes hypothyroidism.
_Fact: Soy does contain goitrogens, as do broccoli, peanuts, and various other foods. Goitrogens though are greatly reduced or destroyed by fermentation or as little as 10 minutes of cooking. Soy products, including soy milk, are generally either cooked and/or fermented.
_The goitrogenic activity from raw, unfermented soy is actually from the phytoestrogens found in the soy. Flax seed is considerably more goitrogenic than soy due to flax seed’s high phytoestrogen content. Especially considering that flax seed is not fermented and/or cooked like soybeans to reduce the phytoestrogen content.
_The effects of these goitrogens can be easily countered though by the addition of iodine containing foods to the diet such as seaweeds.
_Fiction: One study found that children with autoimmune thyroid disease are more likely to have been fed soy-based infant formula.
_Fact: I ran several searches looking for any human studies showing a link between soy intake and Hashimoto's and there were NONE!!! Probably because soy has nothing to do with autoimmune thyroid conditions.
_Fiction: Soy stunts growth and the high consumption is why Orientals are so short. I actually heard this from a naturopathic doctor.
_Fact: Height is dependent on genetics, and soy does not stunt growth. In fact I was allergic to both mother's milk and cow's milk as an infant, and was raised on soy milk. I am 6' 2", the same height as my father.
_Fiction: Because of the estrogens in soy, consuming soy makes people gay. Another ridiculous claim I actually read from posts on the internet.
_Fact: Again this has genetic factors, and has nothing to do with soy consumption. By the way, I am not gay either.
_Fiction: Soy causes kidney stones since it is high in oxalic acid.
_Fact: Soybeans are actually low in oxalic acid. Some of the common foods that contain more oxalic acid that soybeans include spinach, beans, asparagus, parsley, onions, broccoli, beans, cabbage, cauliflower, turnips, radishes, garlic, lettuce, eggplant, greens, carrots, celery and eggplant.
_Dietary oxalic acid though actually plays very little of a role in the formation of calcium oxalate kidney stones. The reason for this is simple. Oxalic acid in plants is generally already bound blocking its absorption. And any oxalic acid binding with calcium in the diet will not absorb in to the bloodstream, so it cannot even reach the kidneys. Instead the bound oxalic acid will simply be eliminated through the feces.
_Fiction: The enzyme inhibitors are not destroyed by cooking.
_Fact: Enzyme inhibitors, which are found in various seeds, such as grains, legumes and nuts, have been shown to be readily destroyed by moisture, especially when heat is applied as in cooking. Enzyme inhibitors are also found in many “healthy foods” such as flax seed and sweet potatoes that contain trypsin inhibitors.
_Fiction: Phytic acid found in soy is an anti-nutrient.
_Fact: Phytic acid, also known as inositol hexaphosphate (IP6) is another compound found commonly in seeds.
_Phytic acid has a higher affinity for heavy metals and dangerous free iron than it does for beneficial minerals. Therefore, even pure phytic acid would be highly unlikely to “rob” the body of any beneficial minerals. I state “pure phytic acid” because in order for phytates to take minerals from the body they must first give up the minerals they are already bound to within the plant. In other words the phytates can only bind to a specific amount of minerals. Since the phytates have a high affinity for metals and minerals they will already be completely bound to minerals picked up from the soil. Since the phytates are already completely bound there is no way from them to bind any metals or minerals in the body unless they give up what they are already bound to. Therefore, there would be an exchange in the body rather than the phytates simply taking minerals from the body.
_The fact that phytic acid has such a high affinity for iron is why plant iron is harder to absorb than heme iron and why phytic acid functions so well as an antioxidant. Phytic acid is Nature’s way of preventing iron overload.
_These properties and the high affinity of phytic acid for heavy metals make phytic acid an excellent choice for the treatment of heavy metal poisoning, some infections and cancers.
_Fiction: Hemagglutinin in soy causes the blood to clot.
_Fact: Soy does contain hemagglutinin, but it is readily destroyed by cooking and/or fermentation.
_Furthermore, the fermentation of soy yields the blood thinner nattokinase.
_Fiction: The B12 analogues in soy increase the requirement for true B12 by the body.
_Fact: True B12 is not found in most if any plants. Therefore, if the claim that B12 analogues increased the need for true B12 then virtually any plant we consumed would increase our requirement for true B12. There is no evidence though that the consumption of B12 analogues increase the need for true B12.
_Furthermore, soybeans provide fiber that help feed the intestinal flora. The intestinal flora in turn produce some vitamins for the body including true B12.
_Fiction: Soy increases the body’s requirement for vitamin D.
_Fact: There is absolutely no evidence to this claim. Although, plants do not contain active vitamin D3, so as with cow’s milk some soy products are fortified with vitamin D.
_Fiction: Soy leads to weak bones by decreasing vitamin D and calcium.
_Fact: The decreasing vitamin D myth is covered above. As with the false vitamin D claim though, there is also no evidence that soy depletes calcium either. In fact, soy contains calcium and magnesium.
_More importantly soy provides silica, which is the most important nutrient required for proper bone health. Silica not only aids in calcium absorption, but it is also what allows calcium to go where it is needed and is responsible for the mineralization of bone. Silica is also a component of the collagen matrix, which gives bones the majority of their strength.
_In addition, soy contains isoflavones that have been proven to INCREASE bone density and strength and/or decrease bone loss:

_As for diet, some of the primary foods that lead to loss of bone density are red meats and dairy. This is in large part due to the high phosphorus content, which displaces calcium from bones. In addition, high protein such as in dairy products interferes with calcium absorption. This is why the highest milk consuming nations in the world also have the highest osteoporosis rates.
Furthermore, animal proteins have been shown to induce bone loss though metabolic acids:

_Fiction: Soy is damaging to the brain and the rest of the nervous system because it does not contain cholesterol.
_Fact: It is true that soy does not contain cholesterol, and it even lowers cholesterol due to the presence of cholesterol lowering sterols and lecithin.
_The lack of cholesterol in soy though does not lead to neurological damage. In fact, dietary cholesterol plays an insignificant role in blood cholesterol levels as much of it is bound by dietary sterols and lecithin. The majority of cholesterol utilized by the body is synthesized by the liver.
_Furthermore, soy is also a good source of lecithin. Lecithin contains compounds that help with building both brain tissue and acetylcholine associated with improved memory.
_Fiction: Soy does not protect from heart disease.
_Fact: Soy does more for heart disease than simply lower cholesterol. Soy can lower inflammation and blood pressure due to its sterols. Strengthen arterial walls and reduce arterial inflammation due to its silica content. Prevent oxidative damage to arterial walls by binding free iron by its phytic acid. And remove arterial plaque due to its lecithin content.
_Fiction: Soy consumption causes infertility and reduces virility.
_Fact: As with most of the anti-soy claims circulating on the internet there is absolutely no evidence to these claims. Actual studies in fact actually show just the opposite:

_Soy, phyto-oestrogens and male reproductive function: a review.
_Cederroth CR, Auger J, Zimmermann C, Eustache F, Nef S.
Department of Genetic Medicine and Development, University of Geneva Medical School, Geneva, Switzerland.
There is growing interest in the possible health threat posed by the effects of endocrine disruptors on reproduction. Soy and soy-derived products contain isoflavones that mimic the actions of oestrogens and may exert adverse effects on male fertility. The purpose of this review was to examine the evidence regarding the potential detrimental effects of soy and phyto-oestrogens on male reproductive function and fertility in humans and animals. Overall, there are some indications that phyto-oestrogens, alone or in combination with other endocrine disruptors, may alter reproductive hormones, spermatogenesis, sperm capacitation and fertility. However, these results must be interpreted with care, as a result of the paucity of human studies and as numerous reports did not reveal any adverse effects on male reproductive physiology. Further investigation is needed before a firm conclusion can be drawn. In the meantime, caution would suggest that perinatal phyto-oestrogen exposure, such as that found in infants feeding on soy-based formula, should be avoided.

_Soy protein isolates of varying isoflavone content do not adversely affect semen quality in healthy young men.
_Beaton LK, McVeigh BL, Dillingham BL, Lampe JW, Duncan AM.
Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences, University of Guelph, Guelph, Canada.
OBJECTIVE: To determine the effects of consumption of soy protein of varying isoflavone content on parameters of semen quality in healthy young men. DESIGN: Randomized crossover intervention. SETTING: University campus. PATIENT(S): Healthy adult men (age 27.5+/-5.67 years, body mass index 25.4+/-3.14 kg/m(2)). INTERVENTION(S): Milk protein isolate (MPI), low-isoflavone soy protein isolate (low-iso SPI; 1.64+/-0.19 mg isoflavones/day, expressed as aglycone equivalents), and high-isoflavone soy protein isolate (high-iso SPI; 61.7+/-7.35 mg isoflavones/day, expressed as aglycone equivalents) for 57 days each separated by 28-day washout periods. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S): Urinary isoflavones were measured from 24-hour urine samples collected on days 54-56 of each treatment period. Semen quality parameters (semen volume, sperm concentration, sperm count, sperm percent motility, total motile sperm count, sperm morphology) were measured from semen samples collected on days 1 and 57 of each treatment period. RESULT(S): Urinary isoflavones were significantly higher after consumption of high-iso SPI compared with the low-iso SPI and MPI. Semen parameters, including semen volume, sperm concentration, sperm count, sperm percent motility, total motile sperm count, and sperm morphology, were not significantly affected by consumption of either low- or high-iso SPI compared with MPI. CONCLUSION(S): Consumption of soy protein of low or high isoflavone content does not adversely affect semen quality in a sample of healthy adult men.
_Even common sense should cause anyone to question the ultra-high population of people in China where soy products are a major component of the diet if soy reduces virility and fertility?
_The only studies that can be found that suggest there may be a link were conducted on obese men that had higher than normal estrogen levels. Many people do not realize that fat cells actually produce estrogen. So the higher the level of fat cells the more estrogen that can be produced by the body. High levels of estrogen in men reduce fertility.
_Similar circulating claims state that soy is highly estrogenic and therefore soy was used to dampen the sexual desire of monks due to the estrogen. There are several flaws with this claim.
_First of all soy is not “highly estrogenic”. As mentioned earlier phytoestrogens are 200-400 times weaker than the body’s own estrogen. The most estrogenic foods on the market are beef, poultry and dairy.
_Furthermore, these phytoestrogens lock up estrogen receptors blocking the effects of excess stronger estrogens such as those generated by the body and xenoestrogens.
_In addition, estrogen does not necessarily decrease sex drive. In women estrogen actually promotes sex drive by strengthening oxytocin activity, acting as an antidepressant and by promoting attraction (pheromone perception), receptivity, sensation and vaginal lubrication. Other than the increased vaginal lubrication men can experience the same benefits of estrogen, though to a lesser extent since they produce less estrogen and higher testosterone, which is an estrogen antagonist. And yes, estrogen antagonizes testosterone, which also increases sex drive. The difference between the increased sex drive by estrogen and testosterone is that estrogen is more calming and promotes more bonding between the partners as where testosterone creates more aggression and a wanting to be alone after the orgasm. This is why people with very high testosterone levels frequently masturbate. It allows them the gratification of orgasm while allowing them to be alone since testosterone antagonizes the bonding effects of estrogen.
_The hormone that decreases the sex drive in both men and women is not estrogen, it is progesterone. This is why the herb vitex (chaste tree berry, monk’s pepper) was used by the monk’s to suppress their sex drive. Vitex increases progesterone levels reducing the sex drive. Progesterone is also used to “chemically castrate” men for the same reason.
_The sexual suppressing effects of progesterone come from its ability to cause depression, increase irritability, reduce brain opioids, reduce pheromone perception, decrease testosterone and reduce oxytocin sensitivity and thus reduce genital sensitivity.
_Fiction: Soy consumption increases hair growth in middle- aged men indicating decreased testosterone levels.
_Fact: Low testosterone does not increase hair growth. Facial and chest hair are increased by higher levels of testosterone, not lower testosterone levels. Same reason the growth of these hairs as well as arm, leg and pubic hair growth increases during puberty as testosterone levels rise.
_Scalp hair is not increased either by testosterone levels. Hair follicles in the scalp though can be damaged by an elevated level of a more radical form of testosterone known as dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This can lead to hair loss as the hair falls out from the follicular damage. This is referred to as male pattern baldness as the hair falls out along the temples and top rear of the head. Hair loss may progress later to the remainder of the top of the head. The reason hair is lost in these areas and not the sides or back is these areas have higher levels of DHT receptors and therefore are more prone to the effects of DHT.

__REM: STOMACH ACID
_Stomach acid is present to:
1. Help protect the body from pathogens that would otherwise enter through the digestive system. Many pathogenic bacteria, such as E. coli and H. pylori THRIVE in an alkaline environment. This is why E. coli lives in the alkaline environment of the intestines and H. pylori secretes ammonia to neutralize stomach acid to protect itself. Reducing stomach acid just makes it that much easier for these pathogens to set up shop in the body where they DO NOT belong.
2. To allow for the absorption of minerals as non-chelated minerals are reacted with the acid to convert them in to absorbable salts.
3. Reduction of acid reflux, which results from the lack of stomach acid. A lack of stomach acid leads to fermentation by yeast overgrowth in the stomach and by fermentation of foods not being digested properly. The resultant gas formation builds up in the stomach and is eventually rapidly released up the esophagus carrying traces of acid with it.
4. To allow for the proper digestion of proteins. The digestive enzyme pepsin cannot work without sufficient levels of hydrochloric acid (stomach acid). When proteins are not broken down properly the intact proteins can enter the bloodstream forming antigens. This in turn can lead to serious and even life threatening allergic reactions.
5. Absorption of vitamins. The B vitamins B6, B12 and folate in particular are dependent on sufficient stomach acid for absorption. Stomach acid levels decline though with age naturally. This is why deficiencies of B6, B12 and folate are so common in the elderly.
6. Conversion of silica to orthosilicic acid for use by the body. Silica is essential for the formation of collagen, elastin, and chondroitin. Without sufficient silica we develop numerous conditions including osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, heart disease, emphysema, diverticulitis, etc. Even wrinkles and cellulite can result from a loss of silica leading to a reduction of the structural proteins collagen and elastin. In order for silica to be absorbed and utilized it must first be converted in to orthosilicic acid. This occurs from a reaction between silica and water, but the process is greatly enhanced by the presence of an acid. The primary acid for this conversion is stomach acid.
_As I mentioned before stomach acid DECLINES with age. This leads to a drop in the conversion of silica in to orthosilicic acid, and therefore a loss of collagen, elastin, and chondroitin production as we age. Now go back and look at the symptoms that develop from the loss of these structural proteins. Notice how these are not seen in younger people but are common in the elderly? So why do we see this in the elderly? Because the lack of stomach acid interferes with the absorption of nutrients needed for the production of structural proteins. These nutrients include silica, zinc, copper and amino acids. As we can see if you want to speed up the production of "age-related disorders" a simple way is to do this is to neutralize your stomach acid.
_It should be noted that most of the nutrients needed to form stomach acid are acid dependant for absorption. Therefore the lack of stomach acid leads to further declines in stomach acid, leading to less absorption of stomach acid forming nutrients, leading to less stomach acid formation......... It is a vicious cycle downhill once started. Therefore I recommend avoiding antacids, acid blockers also known as proton pump inhibitors, alkaline waters, calcium carbonate (coral, oyster shell, dolomite), calcium oxide/hydroxide (lime) and magnesium oxide/hydroxide.

__REM: TEA
Tea needs to be physically boiled to extract the tea properly. Boil one tablespoon per quart of water for 20 minutes covered.

__REM: TMG
_In the kidney, TMG osmotically protects cells from urea and high electrolyte concentrations. In the liver, TMG protects against chloroform and carbon tetrachloride toxicity — as well as against methyl depletion by excess niacin catabolism [AMERICAN JOURNAL OF CLINICAL NUTRITION; Craig,SAS; 80(3):539-549 (2004)]. About half of diabetic subjects and more than half of obese subjects suffer from fatty liver, a condition that can be significantly reduced by TMG [Ibid.].
_TMG converts homocysteine to methionine in the liver, whereas folate-dependent remethylation of homocysteine takes place in all cells. TMG strongly reduces plasma homocysteine in subjects with low serum folate, and has a weaker effect when folate is high, whereas Vitamin B6 has little or no effect on plasma homocysteine levels [ARTERIOSCLEROSIS, THROMBOSIS, AND VASCULAR BIOLOGY; Holm,PI; 25(2):379-385 (2005)].
_Much of the SAMe in the liver is converted to the water-phase antioxidant glutathione. Six grams of TMG daily for three months reduced plasma homocysteine levels by 9% in 22 obese subjects [AMERICAN JOURNAL OF CLINICAL NUTRITION; Schwab,U; 76(5):961-967 (2002)]. TMG decreases plasma homocysteine more in patients with high plasma homocysteine than in healthy volunteers [ARCHIVES OF INTERNAL MEDICINE; Brouwer,IA; 160(16):2546-2547 (2000)]. Because TMG helps reduce homocysteine, it could protect against heart disease — but see the sections above on folic acid and Vitamin B12.
Recommended dosage for TMG is 500 to 1,000mg 3 times daily with meals.
_Homocysteine is a pro-inflammatory compound generated from the amino acid methionine. It is broken back down in to methionine by methylation from compounds like SAMe and TMG. Elevated levels of homocytsteine are best known for causing heart disease by inflaming the arterial lining leading to the formation of arterial plaque. High homocysteine has also been linked to the breakdown of bone tissue.

__REM: VITAMIN C; B12; COPPER; IRON
_Vitamin C: Megadosing
_It is the common belief that if a little is good, then more must be better. Although, many substances that provide beneficial effects to the body can be harmful, or even deadly, in large amounts. Even water or oxygen can be harmful or deadly in high amounts, or in the right circumstances.
_Megadosing of vitamin C was made famous by the Linus Pauling Institute, especially among cancer patients. The belief is that large amounts of vitamin C can boost the immune system, destroy pathogens, and protect the body from free radical damage safely because the excess vitamin C will be eliminated from the body. Although, the use of massive doses of vitamin C for therapy by the Linus Pauling Institute is done for very short periods of time, up to a week. Even though short term megadosing of vitamin C may cause problems in some people, the risk of adverse effects greatly increases with long term use of excessive amounts of the vitamin.
_Vitamin C does boost the immune system, and in does protect the body from some free radical damage. And it is true that excess vitamin C can be eliminated from the body. The practice of vitamin C megadosing does present some safety issues.
_A severe deficiency of vitamin C can lead to a disease known as scurvy. Symptoms of scurvy include connective tissue breakdown, causing bleeding, muscle weakness, impaired wound healing, and nervous system disorders. It is believed that megadosing of vitamin C for extended periods of time, then drastically reducing the dose or going off cold turkey may lead to a condition known as rebound scurvy. Rebound scurvy is believed to occur when the body continues to excrete large amounts of vitamin C when megadoses are no longer being supplemented. Although, very few cases of rebound scurvy have been reported, and information about the cases have not been well-documented.
_Excessive vitamin C intake is also known to displace vitamin B12 from the body. Vitamin B12 is essential for the maturation of blood cells. Deficiencies of B12 lead to a problem known as macrocytic anemia. This condition leads to the formation of abnormally large red blood cells, with impaired ability to carry oxygen. Decreased oxygen levels may cause fatigue, muscle weakness, shortness of breath, and possibly heart arrhythmias.
_Macrocytic anemia also leads to the formation of abnormally large white blood cells with altered nuclei. White blood cells are an important component of the immune system. Therefore, macrocytic anemia from B12 deficiency may impair immune function.
_B12 deficiencies may cause nerve damage leading to nerve pain and numbness, or loss of some senses. Mental disturbances may also develop including depression, dementia, paranoia, irritability, and delirium.
_Vitamin C is a water soluble compound, which can be easily flushed from the body. Although, vitamin C is a relatively unstable compound, and a portion of excess ingested vitamin C breaks down into oxalic acid in the body.
_Oxalic acid is beneficial to the body as well as detrimental. As vitamin C breaks down in to oxalic acid, the oxalic acid actually serves as an antioxidant to the vitamin C helping to prevent oxidative destruction of the vitamin C. On the other hand, oxalic acid can bind with minerals forming insoluble oxalates. Of particular importance is calcium oxalate, which can form kidney stones. Studies have shown that oxalic stones, which make up 80% of kidney stones, only formed in people with kidney diseases, but not in healthy individuals at doses of 200mg daily. At 1,500mg daily intake there was only a tiny rise in the incidence of oxalic stone formation. It is believed that the insignificant rise is due to the fact that vitamin C is poorly absorbed by the body. Therefore, the higher levels of vitamin C are not being absorbed, and therefore are not converted in to oxalic acid.
_Oxalic acid also binds with the electrolytes sodium and potassium, and the mineral magnesium. Among other functions of sodium and potassium is the regulation of heart rate. Magnesium serves a multitude of important functions including maintaining normal blood pressure, proper muscle function; including the heart, preventing muscle cramping, and insulin production.
_Oxalic acid is an irritant to the urinary tract. Irritation of the urinary tract from oxalic acid can lead to urinary tract infections in sensitive individuals.
_There is also concern that vitamin C may cause uric acid stones to form from excess excretion of uric acid. Acidification of the urine with vitamin C increases the ratio of uric acid to the more soluble sodium urate. For this reason, treatment of uric acid stones includes alkalinizing the urine with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) or calcium citrate to increase sodium urate formation.
_Excessive levels of vitamin C are contradicted in people suffering from kidney stones, gout, cirrhosis, kidney diseases, and certain other disorders.
_Safety studies at doses of 200 to 1,500mg daily are conflicting. Safety studies of extremely high doses, up to 20,000 have not been done. Therefore I recommend not exceeding 2,000mg daily for healthy individuals. Normally, I recommend 500mg 3 times daily for most individuals. Slightly higher levels are recommended for smokers, individuals under a lot of stress, stimulant users; including caffeine (coffee, tea, guarana, kola nut, etc.), and those taking medications known to deplete vitamin C, such as Prednisone.
_A major concern of taking excessive doses of vitamin C is the fact that large amounts of vitamin C can block copper absorption. Copper serves various functions in the body including production of the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune stimulating enzyme copper superoxide dismutase. Copper is essential for the formation of collagen and elastin, which give strength and elasticity to the tissues. Copper also plays a role in the formation of neurotransmitters for proper nerve function. As a factor in the production of melanin, copper helps to prevent graying of the hair. In addition, copper helps to maintain proper levels of blood lipids (fats), including cholesterol.
_Decreased copper levels can lead to decreased collagen and elastin synthesis. This in turn leads to bone loss, blood vessel weakness, poor wound healing, gum disorders, tendon and ligament weakness, cartilage disorders, bruising, and wrinkles. Disorders such as emphysema and diverticulitis also involve loss of elastin in tissues.
_The risk of heart disease increases with copper deficiencies. This is most likely due to weaker arterial walls, combined with increased inflammation, increased oxidative damage, and elevated cholesterol levels.
_Vitamin C is often touted as an immune stimulant, although excessive levels may have the opposite effect. The enzyme copper superoxide dismutase (cu-SOD) produces hydrogen peroxide in response to infections. Hydrogen peroxide serves various functions, including activation of the immune system's white blood cells. White blood cells fight infections, and cancer cells within the body. Therefore, declining levels of cu-SOD can have an adverse effect on the immune system.
_Inflammation has been shown to be a major contributor to the formation of cancers. Another primary function of cu-SOD is to reduce inflammation. Copper therefore may play a crucial role in other inflammatory diseases as well, such as colitis, and arthritis.
_As an antioxidant, cu-SOD helps protect cells from free radical damage. The body requires free radicals, such as hydrogen peroxide. Excessive levels of free radicals have been implicated in various diseases though, including cancer.
_Hemoglobin requires copper for its production. Therefore, copper deficiencies can lead to anemia.
_Copper is essential for the formation of thyroid hormones. Copper deficiencies lead to hypothyroidism, although excessive levels suppress thyroid function. This is especially true if zinc deficiencies are present since zinc promotes thyroid function. Note that excessive levels of zinc can over stimulate the thyroid.
_As a cofactor in neurotransmitter production, copper deficiencies can lead to depression. High copper levels though have also been linked to depression, as well as schizophrenia, ADHD symptoms, and other neurological disorders.
_The brain and spinal cord contain some of the highest levels of copper in the body. Copper is not only essential for the formation of neurotransmitters, but also for myelin, which insulates nerves so they do not "short circuit".
_Interestingly, the brain contains about 10 times the level of vitamin C as found in the blood. Vitamin C actually has to be oxidized to cross the blood-brain barrier. Oxidation converts the vitamin C in to dehydroascorbic acid, which allows it to be transported in to the brain through sugar receptors. There the dehydroascorbic acid is converted back in to ascorbic acid, commonly known as vitamin C. Here the vitamin C helps prevent damage to the myelin from free radicals, and aids in the conversion of dopamine to norepinephrine.
_Copper is essential for the proper regulation of histamine throughout the body. High levels of histamine can lead to allergic responses, including asthma. In the brain, histamine plays roles in mood, behavior, libido, addictions, and sleep and wake cycles.
_Despite all the benefits of copper, excess levels of copper can be dangerous. Copper supplementation is not recommended in most cases, although it should be combined with zinc if supplementing zinc. The common ratio of zinc to copper in supplements is 50mg zinc to 2mg copper. Women with excessive levels of estrogen would probably benefit more by taking zinc, but not copper. Estrogen increases copper levels, and zinc antagonizes copper helping to reduce the risk of copper toxicity.
_Copper, which is displaced by excess vitamin C, is essential for the formation of hemoglobin, which carries oxygen to the tissues, and removes carbon dioxide. Iron is also essential for the formation of hemoglobin, and iron absorption is increased by vitamin C. This all brings up an interesting problem. If iron levels are increased by improved absorption from vitamin C, but hemoglobin cannot be formed due to lack of copper, what happens to all the iron being absorbed?
_As with copper, and vitamin C, iron is essential for the body and serves various purposes. Although, as with copper and vitamin C, excess levels of iron can be dangerous. And since the body has no efficient way of ridding itself of excess iron, iron levels may easily build up to toxic levels.
_As iron accumulates in the body it is primarily stored in organs and glands, where it can lead to organ failure and glandular damage. The heart, liver, and pancreas are at the greatest risk of damage and failure from iron overload.
_Side effects of iron overload include heart disorders, diabetes, cirrhosis of the liver, adrenal insufficiency, hypothyroidism, parathyroid damage resulting in low blood calcium, pituitary gland dysfunction, atrophy of the testes and ovaries, nervous system damage and disorders, arthritic disorders, graying or bronzing of the skin, and decreased energy levels. Numerous microbes, and protozoa, thrive with high iron levels. These include Candida, Listeria, Chlamydia, Salmonella, Plasmodium, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Cryptococcus, Campylobacter, Pseudomonas, Helicobacter pylori Escherichia coli, and numerous others.
_Iron overload is also known to increase the risk of various cancers including liver cancer, Kaposi's sarcoma, breast cancer, melanoma, and colon cancer. The increased risk of cancer is probably due to the increased activity of cancer pathogens. For example, human papilloma virus has been linked to several cancers including breast cancer. Human herpes virus type 8 has been linked to the viral form of Kaposi's sarcoma. Liver cancer has been linked to hepatitis viruses, and aflatoxins from the fungus Aspergillus niger.
_Arthritis may occur from iron overload due to two factors. Oxidative destruction can lead to join damage. In addition, certain forms of arthritis are triggered from pathogens. For example, rheumatoid arthritis has been linked to an infection with a form of Chlamydia bacteria.
_Heart disease, due to iron overload, is generally believed to result from oxidative damage to the arterial lining, and to the heart muscle itself. There may be a secondary factor though. Scientists have found a link between Chlamydia bacteria and arterial sclerosis, which may lead to arrhythmias, angina, and heart attack.
_Excess of levels of iron have also been found in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. As with the excessive aluminum levels found in the brains of Alzheimer's patients, that excessive iron levels have not been proven to be a cause of Alzheimer's. Although, it is hypothesized that the excessive level of iron may be causing oxidative damage to the brain, leading to Alzheimer's disease.
_Natural Vitamin C
_I really prefer natural products whenever possible. Nature knows how to maintain a balance that we don’t see with synthetics. For example, the blood thinning coumarins and alfalfa are balanced by the blood clotting vitamin K. The coffee bean, which contains the stimulant caffeine, is coated with a fleshy coating before processing that contains a sedative. The upper portion of the ephedra plant is a stimulant, while the roots are a sedative. Green tea contains a small amount of the stimulant caffeine, and the sedative amino acid theanine.
_Vitamin C is another example. Natural vitamin C sources have several advantages over synthetic sources. For example, natural sources of vitamin C also contain synergistic bioflavonoids that must be added to synthetic C. Natural sources of vitamin C also contain compounds that help prevent deterioration of the vitamin C, which again is not true of synthetic vitamin C.
_My favorite source of vitamin C is actually amla berry, also known as Indian gooseberry. The vitamin C in amla berry is actually 12 times stronger than synthetic vitamin C. Polyphenols in amla protect the vitamin C from oxidation, making it extremely stable. Additional advantages of amla include antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory effects. Amla protect the DNA from heavy metal damage, and significantly raises intracellular levels super oxide dismutase (SOD). SOD is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune stimulatory enzyme.
_My second choice for a natural vitamin C source is camu camu. Camu camu is native to South America. It is considered the highest plant source of vitamin C in the world. Camu camu does have one disadvantage though. Camu camu does not have the stability of amla, or acerola cherry.
_My third choice is acerola cherry. This plant is thought to have originated from the Yucatan. Studies have shown widely varying rates of vitamin C, from lower than amla to higher than camu camu. As with amla berry, the vitamin C in acerola cherry is stabilized by polyphenols.
_Other advantages of natural vitamin C sources are the fact that they are also sources of other vitamins. They also provide amino acids, minerals, and other nutrients that synthetic vitamin C does not offer.
__REM: VITAMIN C; B5
James Sloane, a former med tech, found in medical studies that vitamin C and B5 are important for adrenal gland function, but synthetic ascorbic acid vitamin C is short-lived, while natural vitamin C in foods, is stable (if it's not heated). Vitamin C is also important for all blood vessels, but the body prioritizes the adrenals [to handle stress and help the immune system]. Stress depletes C and B5, but a few hundred mg per day of vitamin C, half hour before meals (to prevent absorption being blocked by protein and fat digestion), is enough to restore it and about 100 mg of B5 per day (with meals) is enough. This will allow extra C to go to blood vessels to maintain them. [Rice bran is better for all the B vitamins.] Here are excerpts from some medical studies.
_Vitamin C prevents oxidative damage
- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8885335
The observations substantiate the previous in vitro findings that ascorbate specifically prevents oxidative degradation of microsomal membranes. The results indicate that vitamin C may exert a powerful protection against degenerative diseases associated with oxidative damage and play a critical role in wellness and health maintenance.
_Vitamin C is an important cofactor for both adrenal cortex and adrenal medulla
- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15666839
The data derived from these animal models and various cell culture studies confirm a crucial role for vitamin C for both the adrenal cortex as well as the adrenal medulla further underlining the interdependence of the two endocrine systems united in one gland.
_The role of functional foods in the psychobiology of health and disease
- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19079896
Presently there are a number of ingredients, which include vitamin C, milk proteins, a number of herbal extracts (ginkgo biloba, ginseng, kava, valerian and lemon balm), and n-3 fatty acids, that have demonstrated potential stress reactivity-lowering and mood-enhancing effects, although further work is required to substantiate the efficacy in human subjects. Dietary supplements that can alleviate excessive stress responses may play an increasingly important role for the maintenance of health in a stressful environment.
_Vitamin C in the treatment and/or prevention of obesity
- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25866299
Obesity has emerged as one of the major health threats worldwide. Moreover, an excessive body fat accumulation, which defines this disease, could lead to several associated clinical manifestations such as cardiovascular events, type 2 diabetes, inflammation, and some types of cancer. The appearance of these co-morbidities has been often related to an unbalanced oxidative stress. Therefore, antioxidant-based treatments could be considered as interesting approaches to possibly counteract obesity fat accumulation complications. In this context, it has been observed that vitamin C intake (ascorbic acid) is negatively associated with the occurrence of several conditions such as hypertension, gallbladder disease, stroke, cancers, and atherosclerosis, and also with the onset of obesity in humans and animals. Among the possible beneficial effects of ascorbic acid on obesity-related mechanisms, it has been suggested that this vitamin may: (a) modulate adipocyte lipolysis; (b) regulate the glucocorticoid release from adrenal glands; (c) inhibit glucose metabolism and leptin secretion on isolated adipocytes; (d) lead to an improvement in hyperglycemia and decrease glycosylation in obese-diabetic models; and (e) reduce the inflammatory response. Possibly, all these features could be related with the outstanding antioxidant characteristics of this vitamin. Thus, the present article reviews the up-to-date evidence regarding in vitro and in vivo effects of vitamin C in obesity and its co-morbidities.

Neurodegenerative diseases typically involve high levels of oxidative stress and thus ascorbate has been posited to have potential therapeutic roles against ischemic stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease.
_Human adrenal glands secrete vitamin C in response to adrenocorticotrophic hormone
- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17616774
CONCLUSIONS: Adrenocorticotrophic hormone stimulation increases adrenal vein but not peripheral vein vitamin C concentrations. These data are the first in humans showing that hormone-regulated vitamin secretion occurs and that adrenal vitamin C paracrine secretion is part of the stress response. Tight control of peripheral vitamin C concentration is permissive of higher local concentrations that may have paracrine functions.

Summary
L-Ascorbic acid (AsA) has diverse physiological activities and is widely used as a nutritional supplement. However, it is disadvantageous that AsA is easily degraded under various oxidative conditions. To solve this problem, we developed a stable derivative of AsA, L-ascorbic acid 2-g1ucoside (AA-2G), which was synthesized by regioselective transglycosylation with cyclodextrin glucanotransferase from Bacillus stearothermophillus. AA-2G was very stable in neutral solution and resistant to heat, light and oxidation. This vitamin derivative was verified to release AsA by hydrolysis with α-glucosidase and to exhibit its physiological activities in vivo. Moreover, it was confirmed that AA-2G was little affected by coexisting materials such as metallic ions, proteins and vitamins and was highly stable in various food products. We also investigated the metabolic fate of AA-2G following ingestion. As a result, ingested AA-2G was clarified to behave as AsA in the body after the hydrolysis by intestinal brush border a-glucosidase. In
addition, various toxicological tests showed that AA-2G was a highly safe material. From these findings, AA-2G is considered to be available effectively as a stable vitamin C supplement in the field of foods.

__REM: VITAMIN K2
https://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1709580
_Regular intake of Vitamin K2 from supplements, natto, Edam and Gouda cheeses should prevent the development of arteriosclerotic plaques and thus be able to prevent disability and deaths from arteriosclerosis. Taking a slice of these cheeses daily is a pleasant good health habit.
_Other possible valuable uses for Vitamin K2 include decreasing the incidence of hepatoma following viral hepatitis, resolution of abnormal calcification(heel spurs, breast and kidney deposits), improving blood sugar control in diabetics and prevention of diabetes and possible protection against Alzheimer’s Disease.
_It makes sense that vitamin K could help prevent calcified plaque in the arteries, but I disagree with their assumption that this is due to the calcium not being deposited in the bone. The calcium would simply be excreted in the urine. The vitamin K protects the arteries by strengthening them, which reduces the risk of arterial injury. It is arterial injury that leads to the plaque formation.
_Seems as though kimchi, sauerkraut, kombucha and such would be advise
_Dark green leafy vegetables are a good source of vitamin K as well. And don't forget kefir.

- One thing I do recall about emergency water purification is adding ground up ___horseradish root to the water and letting it sit overnight. The researchers started with raw sewage and added the ground horseradish root to the sewage. The oil in the root killed all the pathogens and the horseradish root also precipitated out all the solids leaving behind purified, drinkable water on top of the precipitated solids.

PART 2. ____ ____ HEALTH DANGERS

(NOTE: Items marked with this ** double asterisk mean not from Sloane)

__D: ALA
Alpha lipoic acid removes iron from the body and can lead to anemia.

__D: ALLOPATHY

Sloane said: I left allopathic medicine a long time ago as well because in short they didn't have a clue what they were doing. They were too busy still practicing medicine rather than performing medicine. And you were not allowed to really help people. Even if you knew how to help a cancer or AIDS patient you were not allowed to. You had to stand there and watch them die. So I got fed up and left.

__D: **ANTICONVULSANTS
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11469670
_Major system toxicities and side effects of anticonvulsants.
_Abstract
_The use of anticonvulsants is expanding in the treatment of bipolar and related disorders. Although they have characteristics in common, the anticonvulsants currently used are quite diverse and vary in their spectrum of activity, quality of supporting evidence, and organ toxicities. Common side effects of anticonvulsants that can limit tolerability but are not physiologically severe include sedation and other cognitive impairments, tremor, and gastrointestinal side effects. Possibly less common, but of more physiologic significance, are effects on body weight and metabolism and dose-related hepatic and hematologic effects. Severe, but rare, toxicities include skin, bone marrow, and hepatic toxicity due to hypersensitivity. The most important aspect of successful management of severe toxicities is early detection, discontinuation of the medicine, and vigorous treatment of the toxicity. Anticonvulsants can also be associated with fetal toxicity, especially neural tube defects. In general, anticonvulsants are well tolerated and their effectiveness greatly outweighs risk or annoyance from side effects, but side effects must be kept in mind when choosing and monitoring treatment.

__D: ASPIRIN
(See also NSAIDS)
_Aspirin for Heart Attacks?
_With all of the talk about nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke, it seems like there is a lot of advertising going on claiming that aspirin can reduce your risk of heart attack. Are these claims really credible, or just more pharmaceutical sales hype?
_One of the most misleading commercials was from an aspirin manufacturer that was claiming that their product had been shown to reduce the risk of a second heart attack by 50%. Sounds really impressive until you look at how they came to their conclusion. It was revealed on news program that the company had started with around 100 test subjects. After being given the aspirin therapy for a length of time, the drug company chose only 6 participants to base their conclusion on. Out of the 6 participants, 3 had not had a second heart attack by that time. Thus the drug company came to the conclusion that their product reduced the risk of a second heart attack by 50%.
_Numerous other companies have been making similar claims. And aspirin therapy is even being recommended to take during a heart attack. This is a widely accepted concept, and is even being recommended by some doctors. Though, this practice has never been proven safe, or beneficial in any way. In fact, the practice is being questioned by other doctors because evidence is contrary to this common belief.
_Generally NSAIDs contract blood vessels and promote the formation of blood clots by inhibiting the hormone prostacyclin. Aspirin inhibits prostacyclin as well, leading to blood vessel constriction. Unlike other NSAIDs though, aspirin actually helps to prevent blood clots though by interfering with platelet clumping. Blood clots are well known for causing heart attacks and thrombic stroke. This is where the notion that aspirin would help prevent a heart attack, or reduce risk of death from a heart attack, got started. Aspirin does not dissolve existing blood clots though. If a person takes an aspirin after a heart attack from a blood clot (thrombus), the aspirin will not dissolve the blood clot to restore blood flow. Although, as with all NSAIDs, aspirin will cause the blood vessels to contract, further reducing blood flow. This is the last thing that a person having a heart attack or angina should do. It is a decreased blood flow to the heart that leads to angina, and an obstruction of blood flow that causes heart attacks in the first place.
_Medical studies dating back to 1971 have consistently shown that aspirin does not benefit people during heart attacks. This claim is nothing more than sales propaganda. And some studies had to be stopped before results could be obtained due to the increased risk gastric hemorrhage and hemorrhagic stroke.
_One aspirin study did appear at first to reduce the risk of death from heart attack. This study was conducted by two groups of doctors, one in England, and the other in the United States. The group of doctors in England took plain aspirin, and concluded no reduced risk of death from aspirin therapy. The U.S. group of doctors used aspirin buffered with magnesium. This group found a slight benefit from the therapy. The benefit was not from the aspirin though. Instead, the benefit resulted from the magnesium added to the aspirin. Magnesium is a well known for relaxing blood vessels. By relaxing the blood vessels, magnesium actually increases blood flow to the heart, opposite of aspirin's effect.
_Hemorrhage is the most dangerous side effect of aspirin therapy. If a bleed starts due to a ruptured blood vessel, the inability to clot can have devastating consequences. For example, NSAIDs kill over 16,000 people a year. Nearly all of these deaths are due to internal bleeding disorders. These bleeding disorders are primarily gastric bleeds and hemorrhagic strokes. This increased risk of bleeds is not only due to the blood thinning effects of the aspirin, but also from the blood vessel weakening effects of the drug, which increases the likelihood that a blood vessels will rupture.
_My grandfather actually lost his eyesight completely in one eye from taking aspirin. He developed a bleed in the eye from a ruptured blood vessel, which was likely weakened by the aspirin therapy. Because the aspirin had also thinned out his blood so much, the bleed could not clot as it would normally do, and he went blind in that eye.
_There is also a problem with the constant claims of aspirin reducing the risk of a second heart attack or stroke by a certain percentage, which is often done by these drug companies. Both heart attacks and strokes are unpredictable. So how can they claim that aspirin prevented a second heart attack, or stroke, when it is impossible to tell if the person would have had a second heart attack or stroke if they had not taken the aspirin? And what if all the people in the study were to have a second heart attack or stroke the day after the study is completed? The percentage would still remain the same since the heart attacks or strokes occurred outside the study timeframe. These are just a few examples of how drug studies are manipulated to make drugs appear safe or effective.

__D: CHIROPRACTIC
_I went to chiropractors for a while after getting slammed in to by a drunk driver while stopped a red light. They did get rid of my headaches, so I stopped going.
Overall though I would not go to chiropractors otherwise. My main issue with chiropractors is that they generally do not address the cause of the problem. A simple way to look at this is why are people going back to the chiropractor every few days if the problem is being fixed? They are not addressing the tight muscles and contracted tendons that are pulling the bones out of alignment in the first place and will pull them back out of alignment again shortly.
_And I rarely see chiropractors have their clients massaged or treated with heat first to loosen the muscles before adjustments. Trying to do adjustments with cold contracted muscles is like trying to go for a hard run without warming up first to loosen the muscles. Not a good idea.
_As far as the cracking goes a lot of people do not realize that all that cracking sound is are the gas bubbles forming and popping in the joints. Gases under pressure can be forced in to solution. And when that pressure is reduced the gases will come back out of solution. Consider a bottle of soda. Before the bottle is opened the gas (carbon dioxide) is under pressure, which keeps it in solution. Once the cap is opened you hear gas escaping and pressure in the bottle is reduced allowing more of the carbon dioxide to escape out of the solution. Gases such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen can enter in to solution in the joints in the same manner. When the chiropractor does a manipulation what happens with the gas is that the pressure on the synovial fluid is reduced allowing the gases to come out of solution. These gases form bubbles that then pop creating the cracking sound. So the cracking sound can be impressive and make the person feel like something major has been done, but the cracking sound actually has nothing to do with helping in any alignment.
_For alignment I personally prefer either the energy work called Quantum Touch, or simply releasing the muscles manually. For the later as an example if the hips are out of alignment the first thing to determine is if they are being pulled by the muscles in the front or the back. Then you find the muscle that is contracted. Most often this is in the back and the muscle can be felt on the inside of the hip bone near the spine. The thumb is pushed down on the inside of the hip bone on the contracted muscle for about 20-30 seconds. This causes the muscle to relax and the high hip lowers back down even with the other hip bone. Other contracted muscles are basically done the same way but feel for the "dips" in the muscles, which is where you need to push. For example, if the neck is out of alignment this is most often from over contraction of the muscles in the shoulder area. These muscles run up in to the neck.. So when they contract too hard they can yank the vertebrae out of alignment. Generally when someone's neck is out of alignment you will see that the person's shoulder on that side usually sits higher than the other shoulder from the contracted muscle. In this case the contracted muscles on the high shoulder side need to be released first, then the muscles in the neck on the side it is out.
Here are some old posts on the subject that also explain how to use the same technique to straighten out scoliosis:

__D: COLLOIDAL SILVER
(Avoid)
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1597888#i

__D: DIET ISSUES; DIABETES
I don't believe in any strict diet. The biggest drawback to strict vegetarian diets is the risk of B12 deficiency anemia if the person does not supplement with B12. Symptoms do not show up for years since the liver stores a 2-6 year supply of B12. Raw food diets run in to the same problem if a B12 source is not added. And many raw vegetables are very goitrogenic. Again, each strict diet has its drawbacks.
_I disagree with any strict diet, which includes low carb, high protein. Especially in diabetics. Diabetics are already at high risk for kidney damage from insulin. High protein diets put more load on the kidneys and increase the risk of kidney damage due to uric acid crystals that can shred the kidneys if not completely hydrolyzed.
_Foods such as green leafy vegetables are good source of magnesium, which helps to prevent insulin damage.

__D: DMSO. Here's what James said on April 29, 2020 in his private Facebook group, Science Based Natural Healing.
_Nancy K-G: "DMSO is short for a substance called Dimethyl Sulfoxide. This is a natural by-product of the lumber industry and comes from the bark of trees."
_DMSO is neither natural nor does it come from the bark of trees.
_DMSO is a synthetic solvent formed as a byproduct of the bleaching of wood pulp.
_When heated it adds an oxygen atom forming synthetic DMSO2, also known as methylsulfonylmethane (MSM).
_This is used in the supplement industry and is a good sulfur source providing 34% sulfur.
_If mixed with oxidizers such as [chlorine dioxide], oxygen, or ozone, it can produce the highly poisonous gas DMSO4.
_For an example of this, research DMSO and Ramierez.
_In this case not only did the patient die but the toxic gas nearly killed several hospital emergency room workers when they drew her blood.
_People need to be EXTREMELY careful when using DMSO for the above reasons and because DMSO can carry various substances right in to the bloodstream including soap scum on the skin.
_Therefore, the skin needs to be cleaned with soap and water first then cleaned again with alcohol before applying DMSO.
_People also need to be extremely careful about what they mix DMSO with before application.
_DMSO can carry various plant compounds through the skin that SHOULD NEVER be in the bloodstream.
_For example plant saponins as these will hemolyze (destroy) red blood cells if they enter the bloodstream.
_This can lead to anemia as well as excess uric acid levels increasing the risk of tissue damage including the kidneys as well as kidney stones.
_Bottom line is if people are going to use DMSO they need to do some serious research on it first and not just do it because someone who does not understand it or its chemistry recommends it on the internet.

__D: FASTING
When people go on starvation diets, which is along the same lines as fasting, the metabolism slows down, the body goes in to a stress mode and in the long run the body generates more body fat in preparation for future starvation periods. In other words it drastically alters the body's chemistry, and not for the better.
_The body does not store certain nutrients such as vitamin C. And autolysis means the body is breaking down its own tissues, which again creates a higher toxic load in the body. For example cancer cells destroy cells in the body, which also releases whatever is in the cells. Same for hemolytic anemia. So does this make these diseases beneficial because they lyse healthy cells? Of course not. Cellular lysis is important in the body, such as for bone remodeling, but general cell lysis is not a good thing.

__D: FORMULATING MISTAKE: TANNINS
The most common formulating mistake I see is to add high tannin sources to a formula. Tannins lock up various active compounds, such as alkaloids and glycosides in other herbs, rendering those compounds useless to the body. In short high tannin sources in herbal formulations reduce their effectiveness.

__D: GMO's
_Even certified GMO-free may not be GMO-free. The problem is that any farm can start with non-GMO seeds, but bees can carry pollen from GMO plants to non-GMO plants. This has been my biggest concern since once these genes start spreading there is no putting the genie back in the bottle.
_And this applies to more and more foods as they keep splicing genes in to more and more crops.
_The only way to change things is to kill the market for GMO foods. This is going to require that more than a few people stand up and refuse to buy GMO foods, but in so many cases it is not that obvious. Look at the Starlight corn fiasco. Much of this was in fast food products, something that people do not often associate with GMO.

__D: GOITROGENS
_Pears, peaches, strawberries, peanuts, soy, sweet potatoes, radishes, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, peaches, spinach, flax seeds, pine nuts, brussels sprouts, kale, turnips, collards, mustard greens, rutabega

__D: HISTAMINE
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1655424#i
_Re: High histamine
_I suspect histamine is a very complicated subject with many causes for abnormal regulation.
_Would you agree with 3 possible causes below? and would there be any other major ones?
_Causes
- low stomach acid and poor digestion, leading to fermentation in the gut and subsequent histamine reactions.
_Histamine is found in a wide range of foods either naturally, such as spinach and nightshades, or during natural or induced fermentation of foods through the action of bacteria on the amino acid histidine. The reason we do not all issues with dietary histamine is because diamine oxidase in the gut breaks down histamine. A lack of DAO therefore can lead to histamine issues with food.
- Undermethylation
_Yes, the donation of a methyl group by methyl donors, such as TMG and choline, inactivate histamine.
- Weak adrenals
_Epinephrine released from the adrenals is a natural antihistamine through its elevating cyclic adenosine monophosphate.
Dehydration, diuretics including caffeine and low copper levels can also lead to increased histamine levels. Excess copper though can be dangerous so supplementing with copper needs to be done carefully.
_I'm REALLY struggling with even food in general at the moment, with constant cravings and salivating for almost all foods, even things like canned fish, chicken and sauerkraut (as well all my other cravings/sensitivities - spices, nuts, dairy, sugar - including fruits). Saurkraut in particular caused strong cravings, and a significant raising of anxiety, heart rate and headaches after consumption. I do (try to) deal with weak adrenals, sluggish liver and poor digestion, and very poor gut health. The hope was that the sauerkraut would help this but seems to instead seems to cause too much of a reaction.
_Is there anything from the list below that you would recommend for someone in my position? - which is feeling of constantly feeling ramped up and cravings/salivating for almost all food. I am already attempting to support my adrenals.
_B6: Used in the formation of methyl donors, but the actual methyl donors would be better.
_diamine oxidase: I have never seen this sold as a supplement.
_Vitamin C; Quercetin: Vitamin C and quercetin are both great. Vitamin C will help support the adrenals and quercetin is a natural antihistamine.
_SAM-e; TMG: TMG is stronger and cheaper than SAMe. Choline bitartrate is also a good choice for a methyl donor, although lower doses are required.
_EFA's; Magnesium; Inositol; Calcium; Zinc; plant sterols: As far as histamine goes the plant sterols are going to be the most beneficial due to their effects on the adrenals. Nettle leaf is also good since it is nutrient rich including sterols, supports the adrenal glands and is a natural antihistamine.

__D: IODINE
- http://medcapsules.com/forum/showthread.php?tid___2459
_Someone said in a letter online that most people need a lot more iodine, but herbalist James Sloane says that's not true. The letter said: "In 1911, 900 milligrams daily (900,000 micrograms/day!) were considered usual and safe doses. In 1950 the Japanese had 100 times more iodine in their diet than Americans".
_Sloane replied:
The author left out several very important points. The typical Japanese diet will be higher in [natural] iodine due to the higher consumption of ocean animals and seaweeds. The typical Japanese diet is also high in rice, which is high in iodine binding starch [so it prevents excess iodine from doing harm]. In addition, the ingestion of [unnatural] free iodine, such as with Lugol's iodine, is not the same as organically bound iodine in foods. The point is that what is a safe dose of iodine in one form does not make the same dose safe in a different form of iodine.
_Unfortunately many people are supplementing with more dangerous forms of iodine such as Lugol's iodine. Lugol's iodine is considered a poison due to the presence of toxic [unnatural] elemental iodine. Pure potassium iodide is considered considerably safer since the iodide ion is not as toxic as elemental iodine.
_In addition, if we follow the studies back they also showed that with the addition of iodide to salt there was an increase of hyperthyroidism with corresponding symptoms including goiter [showing that excess iodide is dangerous]. See: http://jn.nutrition.org/content/135/4/675.full#ref-52
_This is how so many people get in to trouble [including me]. First they read sales websites to get their health information without researching credible sites to find out if the original claims are even true. Then they assume that more is better. Estrogen is essential to the body. Should people start taking excess amounts of estrogen? What about insulin? Steroids? Vitamin A? Many compounds work very well in small amounts in the body. Sometimes because that is all the body needs and sometimes because other synergistic factors help the compounds work properly at lower doses.
_The letter also said: "it is important to move forward carefully as we treat this pandemic level of 72% iodine deficiency in the world and a shocking 96% deficiency in Americans, affecting the minds of billions of people".
_Sloane replied:
Where is the evidence to those statistics? Sounds like more of scare tactic propaganda I have seen on some iodine promotion sites. In fact, considering how much of the world is reliant on the oceans on their primary food sources and the number of other people that live near ocean waters where they are exposed to iodine from ocean spray and iodine laden rain I would highly doubt those statistics.
_Numerous studies have linked the decreased rate of breast and prostate cancer in Japan not to the higher iodine intake but rather the higher intake of plant phytoestrogens [as in soy].
_Abraham, the letter writer, made an assumption that the iodine had something to do with [Japan's lack of obesity] rather than investigating further. What about other cultures where there is a high reliance on seafoods providing an abundance of iodine in the diet? For example in some of the island nations. Yet obesity is rampant in many of these islands despite the high iodine intake. Clearly there is something other than the iodine that is making Japan such a healthy nation. And as I pointed out earlier this factor has been shown in numerous studies to be the high intake of phytoestrogens in the diet.
_As for his comment that the Japanese must either be mutants or they are capable of thriving on toxic levels of iodine Abraham is overlooking some basic facts. Again, the starch in the typical Japanese diet binds iodine reducing its toxicity.
_In addition, the Japanese consume a lot of seaweed that also contains the halogens fluorine and bromine that are antagonistic to iodine. Again, the ingestion of food based iodine sources is vastly different than some iodine sources such as Lugol's iodine that is considered a poison by most everyone. Abraham on the other hand considers Lugol's to be extremely safe as well as another well known poison known as tincture of iodine.
_Being that Abraham set out to prove his hypothesis and failed to do the proper research to determine what was allowing the Japanese to be so healthy compared to other high iodine consumption nations, and failed to consider how the higher iodine intake was being offset, I would not put much faith in to his research.
_Excess iodine has also been shown to induce [death] of healthy thyroid cells in animal studies:
_and in healthy human thyroid cells:
_Sloane shows that most of the claims Abraham made about iodine are false or misleading.

__D: MEDS THAT DAMAGE THE LIVER
Here is a general list of some medications that are known for causing liver damage: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Nuprin, etc.), naproxen sodium (Aleve), and celecoxib (Celebrex), acetaminophen (Tylenol), minoxidil (Rogaine), and statin drugs used to lower cholesterol.

__D: NSAIDS
(See also ASPIRIN)
(See also MEDS THAT DAMAGE THE LIVER)
_Inflammation is part of the body's trying to heal.  Basically what is happening is when we injure ourselves inflammatory hormones called prostaglandins dilate the blood vessels in the area to increase blood flow and thus oxygen and nutrients to the area to promote healing.  When the blood vessels are dilated like this for a while though they become permeable so they leak fluids in to the surrounding tissues.  This is the swelling [and sometimes pain] that people experience.
_Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs work by inhibiting these prostaglandins thereby constricting the blood vessels.  This prevents the leakage of fluid [that causes swelling and pain], but also inhibits the healing process.  In addition these drugs are known for causing heart attacks, strokes, chemical induced hepatitis, kidney failure, loss of vision and tinnitus because they can reduce or cut off the blood supply to organs and other tissues.  And contrary to popular belief this does not require long term use or excessive doses.  There were 2 dozen deaths from ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Nuprin, etc.) induced hepatitis during clinical trials.  And I know 4 people that had their kidneys shut down after taking a single recommended dose of ibuprofen.  The people most at risk are those with circulatory disorders such as those with Raynaud's disease or phenomena, congestive heart failure, diabetes, etc.
_A couple of options to help with the pain and swelling without inhibiting healing are either using an arnica cream topically over the injured area, or internally licorice root and yucca root are both strong steroidal anti-inflammatories.

_There are a vast number of studies that document the diverse range of side effects caused by antipsychotic drugs. These adverse effects include brain damage, tardive dyskinesia, Parkinsonian symptoms, akathisia, cognitive impairment, and metabolic disorders. Mad in America documents these negative effects; see Psychrights for PDFs of many of these studies.
On the fact that continual use of antipsychotics leads to early death, see the following:

_Over a 10-year period, 39 out of 88 patients on antipsychotic drugs died. Reduced survival was associated with the administration of two or more neuroleptics at the same time, and time since withdrawal of antipsychotics (patients maintained on antipsychotics became burdened with chronic physical illness, so much so that it replaced the “psychiatric disorder as the primary focus of medical care.”) The final pathway to early death was global medical decline and death from respiratory illness.

__SSRI
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are notorious for causing mental disturbances including suicidal depression, especially when first starting on them. The problem is that they are often prescribed to people with normal serotonin levels and the excess serotonin leads to the disturbances. Do your original problem could be from a lack of some other neurotransmitter. Likely acetylcholine since deficiencies can lead to anxiety.

_[Signs of brain damage:] dizziness, sleepiness (somnolence), blurred vision, difficulty with concentration/attention; fatigue, weakness, irritability, anxiety, confusion; speech problems, nervousness, memory problems, visions problems; tremor,  depression in adults, irritability in children, reduced attention, decrease in thinking speed, hearing loss, [liver damage, pancreas problems]; unsteady walking, drooling and hyperactivity in children; vertigo, ataxia; [bone marrow failure or liver failure]; weakness, behavioral changes; balance problems; aggression, anger, anxiety, paranoia, euphoric mood, agitation, and changes in mental status; slurred speech, [bone thinning].

__D: SUGARS
_Every sugar has its pros and cons.
_Many sugars that are considered healthy such as raw sugar and honey are still sugar and will still raise the blood sugar. So they really are not much different than HFCS.
_And yes, sugar alcohols can cause bloating in some individuals and can cause diarrhea in large doses.
_Fructose is not as bad as sucrose, which includes raw sugar and is one of the sugars found in honey. Fructose, also known as fruit sugar, is also the sugar of agave nectar. It will raise blood sugar, just like sucrose, but it burns more evenly than sucrose preventing the severe crashes.
_I feel the safest sugar source over all is stevia. It is very sweet, the higher quality grades taste great, and the sugars in stevia are not absorbed. Green stevia is also a great source of blood sugar regulating chromium.

__D: TINCTURES
_I rarely use herbs as tinctures or teas for various reasons. Part of this reason is that the alcohol used to make tinctures can alter the chemistry of some herbs greatly. You also lose the beneficial fibers.

__D: VITAMIN D
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1844302#i
_Is there any D3 suppliment that you like or have worked with in the past? Thanks!
First thing to keep in mind is that there is both an active form of D3 and an inactive form of D3. Let's say someone ingests some vitamin D2, which is also inactive. _The D2 has to go to the liver where it can be converted in to inactive D3. From there the inactive D3 can go to the kidneys for conversion in to active D3. So in order to convert D2 in to active D3 requires properly a properly functioning liver and properly functioning kidneys.
D3 supplements contain inactive D3 since the active form is so much more expensive. Being that it is already in the inactive form of D3 liver function is not as critical, but kidney function still is. If a person has kidney issues they can still have inadequate levels of active D3 even with supplementation if their body is not converting the inactive form of D3 in to its active form. Therefore, it would be a good idea to also supplement with herbs that support the liver and kidneys such as schisandra berry and nettle leaf.
_As far as the dosage, in my opinion 5,000IU daily is excessive. Vitamin D stores in the liver so there is really no reason to megadose in the first place. Then there are safety concerns with such high levels of vitamin D. I recommend not exceeding 2,000IU daily. But still try to get as much of your vitamin D from either the sun or add full spectrum lamps around your house to help with vitamin D produciton.
_One final note is that vitamin D3 supplements are made from sheep lanolin, a common allergen.

SLOANE'S AILMENTS (& REMEDIES) - A

__ACID REFLUX
>Digestive Bitters, >Zinc 50mg/one-meal/da, B vitamins from >RiceBran, >TMG, >BetaineHCl
http://medcapsules.com/forum/showthread.php?tid>2632
_Acid reflux is usually due to a lack of stomach acid, which leads to an overgrowth of stomach yeast. When we are younger our acids produce sufficient stomach acid to control yeast growth. As we age though, stomach acidity naturally declines. This helps explain why as we age we develop more nutritional deficiencies, and get more frequent heartburn [since acids are needed to digest nutrients].
... Overgrowth of yeast in the stomach leads to heartburn due to fermentation from the yeast. This fermentation leads to the production of carbon dioxide gas, which creates the bloating. The gas also produces pressure on the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) muscle at the upper end of the stomach. Like other muscles this muscle can get tired. When the LES tires out from fighting the pressure the LES relaxes allowing the gas to escape up the esophagus. As the gas goes up the esophagus traces of stomach acid are carried with it causing the heartburn.
... when taking antibiotics, women can develop vaginal yeast infections. The reason for this is that the >flora that inhabit the vaginal cavity produce lactic acid to maintain slightly acidic tissues, which yeast cannot grow in. Since the antibiotics kill these bacteria, they also lead to a shift in the pH of the tissues to the alkaline side leading to an overgrowth of yeast. If the stomach becomes too alkaline the yeast can come up from the intestines in to the stomach increasing fermentation and [acid] reflux.
- There are several things that can be done. In Europe digestive >bitters are very popular for treating heartburn. These are bitter tasting herbs, usually sold in liquid form since they must come in to contact with the tongue to work. Bitters work by stimulating the bitter receptors on the back of the tongue. This in turn stimulates a nerve, known as the vagus nerve. This in turn increases the production of stomach acid, bile secretion and pancreatic enzyme secretion. Bitters also have a cleansing effect on the liver, and the bile increasing effects make it useful for dissolving cholesterol based gallstones. Since bitters do cleanse the liver it is important to drink a lot of water throughout the day when using them.
- >Zinc can also help since it is a catalyst for the formation of hydrochloric acid for the stomach. The recommended dose is 50mg daily with a large meal.
- B vitamins are also essential for the formation of stomach acid. It is best to get these from foods such as >rice bran, >oat bran, >watercress, >seaweeds, or >nutritional yeast. Otherwise a >B50 complex twice daily with meals can be used.
- >Trimethylglycine (TMG) can also be used to increase stomach acid formation. TMG is a strong methyl donor. Methylation is required for the production of many substances in the body including stomach acid, neurotransmitters, hormones, etc.
- The final option is >betaine HCl, derived from beet leaves. Betaine HCl is very acidic, with a pH of 1. So it needs to be taken with food already in the stomach. Although, I do not believe in substituting for the body's own job long term since it can become dependent on the substitution. So Betaine HCl is best used occasionally.
- Caffeine, nicotine and mints should be avoided by people with chronic GERD as these can relax the LES causing more reflux.
- Hiatal hernias can also increase the risk of reflux by constricting the stomach
- The whole liver flush thing using olive oil, lemon juice and magnesium is a fraud. Those soft, green squishy balls are not really gallstones but rather saponified oil ("soap stones") and cholesterol-sterol complexes formed between the ingredients in the "flush" and the bile in the intestines. If real gallstones are present these [so-called] "flushes" can force a real gallstone in to the bile ducts. If the stone gets lodged in the ducts this can lead to pancreatitis and can require emergency surgery.
- The stomach has to reach a certain acidic pH to release its contents. So reducing acidity would also slow gastric emptying.

__ACNE, OR CYST
- https://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1948277
_[Use thyme tincture.] See http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/03/120327215951.htm
_"Researchers from Leeds Metropolitan University tested the effect of thyme, marigold and myrrh tinctures on Propionibacterium acnes -- the bacterium that causes acne by infecting skin pores and forming spots, which range from white heads through to puss-filled cysts. The group found that while all the preparations were able to kill the bacterium after five minutes exposure, thyme was the most effective of the three. What's more, they discovered that thyme tincture had a greater antibacterial effect than standard concentrations of benzoyl peroxide -- the active ingredient in most anti-acne creams or washes."
_You can make a tincture from the leaf.  It is pretty simple to do.  Put some of the herb in to a glass jar.  Cover the herbs with enough alcohol to cover them by about an inch.  You can either use an alcohol like vodka or, since this will be external use only, you can also get by with rubbing alcohol.  Put some wax paper over the mouth of the jar if you have metal lid so the alcohol does not contact the metal.  Put the lid on and seal it well.  Shake the jar several times a day for about 2 weeks.  Then strain the liquid from the leaves.  That's it.
_To use moisten a cotton ball and gently scrub the problem areas a few times a day.  The thyme extract will kill the bacteria that causes the acne.
_Powders can be used to make tinctures as well.  The only differences are that you should only cover the powder with about a half of alcohol and shake the jar more often per day to keep the powder from settling and compacting.
_Thyme essential oil [can also be used, instead of tincture]. ... Try mixing the thyme oil in ... coconut oil, which is a surfactant in itself and will help strip the skin sebum.

__ADRENAL FATIGUE, ADRENAL ISSUES, LOW ADRENALS, LOW BLOOD PRESSURE
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1527351#i
_The best way to build up the adrenals is with natural vitamin C, pantothenic acid, and adaptogenic herbs.
_For vitamin C I like papaya, watercress, berries, and kiwis for food sources. Herbal sources include amla, acerola cherry, rosehips, and nettle leaf.
_For pantothenic acid the best source is bee pollen. Nutritional yeast, rice bran, oat bran, nettle leaf and seaweeds are also good choices.
_Some of the best adaptogenic herbs include schisandra berry, Chinese licorice root, astragalus, Siberian ginseng, jiaogulan, and ashwagandha. Nettle leaf and amla berry are also excellent for the adrenals.
_Eighteen Overlooked Symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue
http://curezone.com/forums/am.asp?i=1816874
__ADRENAL ISSUES
_Adrenal dysfunction does increase the need for >vitamin C by the adrenals. Since the adrenals get priority of vitamin C over the entire rest of the body this means a lack of vitamin C going to other tissues. Blood vessels are one of the tissues that suffer from the lack of vitamin C leading to a loss of structural proteins, which in turn leads to the varicosing (The loss of collagen causes them to varicose). Foods and herbs high in natural vitamin C can help with the varicose veins. >Papaya, kiwis, berries, acerola, rosehips and amla are all good choices.
_If you are peeing the water out then you absorbed it since the water cannot reach the kidneys without being absorbed.
_Still sounds like an adrenal issue that is affecting your aldosterone levels. That would explain why sodium is causing the water retention while the increased potassium would cause more dehydration.
_Have you tried other >adaptogens to support your adrenals? For example, >licorice root and >schisandra berry? Both of these also support the kidneys.
_The dry eyes and mouth - Hyperthyroidism can cause these.
_Skin is getting softer ... and ... hair is ... beginning to grow back....
_The hair loss would have been from the thyroid as well. But adrenal dysfunction can adversely affect the thyroid.
__ADRENAL ISSUES
- https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1510154#i
_All adaptogens technically reduce cortisol levels. The reason for this is that cortisol is primarily released during times of mental stress, including pain. Adaptogens strengthen the adrenals, which reduces stress responses and reduces inflammation. Therefore the adaptogens help to reduce the over release of cortisol from the adrenals. ... The nutrition your adrenals need [are] Vitamin C and pantothenic acid in particular.
_Nettle leaf is milder, but excellent for so many things in the body. It is also a good vitamin C and B vitamins [energy] source.
>ADAPTOGENS
- https://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1839654
_Ashwagandha is known as an adaptogen, a class of herbs that help lower cortisol levels, enhance immune function, and reduce anxiety, insomnia and depression. “Adaptogens are herbs that help the body and mind adapt to physical, emotional and environmental stressors.... Adaptogens work on many body systems at once, including the immune system and nervous system. ... In some cases, they can be energizing (but not necessarily stimulating), and in other cases, they can be calming (but not necessarily sedating)."
_... Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea) ... exerts an anti-fatigue effect that increases mental performance, particularly the ability to concentrate, and decreases cortisol response to stress in patients with fatigue syndrome.6 Rhodiola also helped reduce mental fatigue in students during the stressful period of exam week.7
_... Schisandra affords a stress-protective effect against a broad spectrum of harmful factors, and increases endurance and accuracy of movement, mental performance and working capacity.10 Other adaptogens include Asian ginseng, ... eleuthero, ... amla, ... passion flower ... and lycium....
_... Chinese licorice root is calming, while American licorice root is stimulating, i.e. energizing.
_... I have never used rhodiola. When it first came out many years ago it was several thousand dollars a kilo from the raw material suppliers. ... There are so many great adaptogenic herbs that I knew worked fantastic, such as jiaogulan and schisandra berry, that I saw no reason to pay the excessive price for the rhodiola [but the price is lower now].
_... All adaptogens technically reduce cortisol levels. The reason for this is that cortisol is primarily released during times of mental stress, including pain. Adaptogens strengthen the adrenals, which reduces stress responses and reduces inflammation. Therefore the adaptogens help to reduce the over release of cortisol from the adrenals.
__ADRENAL ISSUES
- https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1771218#i
_Natural sources often have more stability. This includes pantothenic acid, which is why I like pollen for adrenal support. Pollen is the highest herbal source of pantothenic acid. As far as pantethine I do not know of any natural sources.
_ https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1659525#i
_Some of the best herbal B vitamin sources are pollen, seaweeds, gotu kola, watercress, nutritional yeast, rice bran, oat bran and nettle leaf.
__LOW ADRENALS, LOW BLOOD PRESSURE
Because taurine can lower blood pressure I would go with glycine instead, which is also inhibitory and treats anxiety. Glycine is also a great healing agent. Recommended dose is 500-1000mg 3 times daily at least 30 minutes before meals.
_Hydrocortisone leads to bone deterioration and since it atrophies the adrenals it can contribute to even more inflammation if you try to go off of it. NSAID pain relievers can contribute to joint deterioration leading to increased pain in the long run. Weak adrenals though can increase inflammation, which is what arthritis is. Arthritis literally means inflammation of the joints. Weak adrenals also adversely affect the immune system contributing to autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. Schisandra berry and jiaogulan would be good choices for adrenal dysfunction.

__AIDS, HIV, D: HIV TESTING FRAUD
AIDS, PCR https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1852035#i
The fraud of HIV testing https://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1545495
HIV is a leukemia virus https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1488842#i

HIV is very easy to eliminate
http://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1488465#i1
HIV is a leukemia virus. Both pau d' arco and andrographis have long histories of effectively dealing with leukemia viruses. I have personally seen several AIDS patients turn around in days by using pau d' arco alone.
_The reason I add chaparral is traditional use of pau d' arco is to add yerba mate', which is a sulfur source. The sulfur increases the antiviral effects of the pau d' arco. But yerba mate' itself is not a very effective antiseptic. Chaparral on the other hand not only supplies the sulfur, but it is also a very strong anti-viral, antibacterial, antifungal, immune stimulant, and is the strongest natural antioxidant I have found. Chaparral also helps to prevent cellular division of cancer cells, which is important since cancers are also a hallmark of AIDS. Therefore I find chaparral to be a better choice to combine with pau d' arco than yerba mate'.
_The full range antimicrobial and immune stimulatory effects of these herbs is also important for a very simple reason. AIDS is not a disease, it is a syndrome (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). Syndromes are not diseases, they are groups of symptoms. This means that there is more than one cause of AIDS. In fact HIV cannot cause AIDS under the original definition. The definition was changed to fit the virus after Robert Gallo, who had already been busted for scientific fraud, had lied to the world again by claiming that HIV was the cause of AIDS. As the top scientist for the CDC Gallo was about to embarrass the US government AGAIN, so they had to find some way to cover up Gallo's newest lie. Therefore the definition of AIDS was expanded to include the drop in CD4 counts, the ONLY thing HIV can do. So why did Gallo lie? Because he held the patent rights on the HIV antibody test. As long as he could convince the world of his lie he was making a fortune. And the world was looking for an answer at the time so people readily accepted the HIV/AIDS hypothesis, and the government was not going to admit to covering up Gallo's lie allowing hundreds of thousands to die based on his lie. So the cover up stuck.
_For the above reasons AIDS must be addressed with full range antimicrobials and immune stimulants to address the microbes that can cause AIDS and to counter the AIDS-inducing effects of the drug AZT and its analogues.

__ALCOHOLISM
>Kudzu root or >glutamine curbs the desire for alcohol.
>Ashwagandha or >gotu kola or the amino acid >glycine taken on an empty stomach helps calmness & sleep.
_Alcohol depletes B vitamins; restore them with >rice bran, >nutritional yeast or >gotu kola. Gotu kola increases blood flow to the brain for better memory & has some antiseptic properties.
_All are best taken on an empty stomach (except rice bran and nutritional yeast).
_Often adrenal fatigue leads to the abuse of alcohol, marijuana, and hard drugs because of the urge to "fix" recurrent hypoglycemia. Take >amla berry caps & >rice bran instead.
_For fatty liver, take >bitters and >lecithin granules 3Tablespoons/da. For liver support take >(turmeric and/or) >milk thistle seed 4halfteaspoons/da, at least 2 months, then cut back to once or twice a day.
_Alcoholics, vegetarians, and the elderly often need >sublingual B12 supplementation.
_Zinc depletion is frequently seen in alcoholism. The best dietary sources of >zinc are lean meats, liver, eggs, seafood (especially oysters), >Pumpkin seeds, whole grain breads and cereals.
_Their triglycerides are generally elevated. >Fish oil can help as well as >chromium polynicotinate in most cases.
>Gotu kola increases blood flow to the brain for better memory, is a good source of B vitamins, has some antiseptic properties and stimulates collagen and elastin formation.
>Glycine also helps with the healing and formation of tissues.
__ALCOHOLISM
https://www.curezone.com/forums/am.asp?i=1865759
_The easiest thing to do is to cleanse the liver with bitters and support it with B vitamins so the liver can do a better job of metabolizing the alcohol.
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1704797#i
_Yes, kudzu root as well as glutamine will curb the desire for alcohol.
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1705361#i
_But if we put aside the alcohol question, are there any herbs out there that can boost confident and maybe also calm you down a bit. My mum would really need that as she uses alcohol for that purpose.
_For calming I would use either the herbs ashwagandha or the amino acid glycine. Some people also find gotu kola to be calming. Reducing the anxiety should help with boosting confidence. All of these are best taken on an empty stomach.
By the way alcohol's calming effect is from boosting GABA activity in the brain. GABA is available as a supplement but it is not readily absorbed. Glycine has the same neurotransmitter inhibitor effects as GABA, but is more readily absorbed.
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1705717#i
_GABA (esp. glycine) actually acts as an antidepressant if a person's GABA levels are low.
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1705716#i
_Low GABA levels have been linked to depression and GABA supplementation has been used to treat depression. Occasional or short term use of alcohol actually has more of a euphoric effect. Alcohol induced depression is seen more in long term use such as alcoholism. Because alcohol depletes B vitamins my guess is that the long term alcohol use is reducing methylation needed to form our neurotransmitters. B vitamins are needed for the formation of the methyl donor SAMe and the B vitamin choline is a stronger methyl donor as well as a component of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. A deficiency of neurotransmitters, including acetylcholine, can cause depression.
_Zinc depletion is frequently seen in the following conditions: alcoholism, macular degeneration, diabetes, malignant melanoma, liver and kidney diseases, malabsorption syndromes such as celiac sprue, and inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease. Combine copper with zinc, around 2.5mg copper with 50mg zinc.
_I mentioned 4 things to counter alcohol: Ashwagandha, gotu kola, GABA and glycine. These are generally safe and some provide additional benefits such as ashwagandha also supports the conversion of T4 to T3 by the thyroid and supports the adrenals. Gotu kola increases blood flow to the brain for better memory, is a good source of B vitamins, has some antiseptic properties and stimulates collagen and elastin formation. Glycine also helps with the healing and formation of tissues. All are best taken on an empty stomach.

__ALLERGY
- https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1591593#i
_Histamine actually serves a number of purposes in the body. But it can also cause problems in excess such as allergic reactions. Nettle and many other substances are natural antihistamines, but not to the point of countering every last bit of histamine. So these natural antihistamines merely help control over expression of histamine.
_The sterols in nettle are anti-inflammatory, immune supporting and dilate[] blood vessels improving circulation and regulating blood pressure.
_if your adrenals are healthy the epinephrine released from the adrenals will control histamine levels [and related allergies].
_People often have underlying allergies that they are not aware of since they cannot be tested for everything. And allergies can come and go so an allergy can develop after testing for allergens. Building the adrenals is not going to hurt anything, it can only help.
_Allergies stem from poorly functioning adrenals, which leads to less epinephrine (adrenaline) and corticosteroids to counter the reactions from the exposure to allergens.  This is why we are all exposed to the same allergens, but we do not all have allergies.
_The role Candida plays is that in its fungal form the Candida can lead to leaky gut.  This allows partially dissolved proteins in solutes to enter in to the bloodstream where they can trigger off allergic reactions.  And unfortunately this can lead to even further weakening of the adrenals.
_[To prevent swelling,] look in to quercetin as an alternative to Benadryl (diphenhydramine).  Quercetin is a natural antihistamine (and anti-inflammatory) bioflavonoid derived commercially from yellow onion skins.  As it breaks down it forms another bioflavonoid called rutin, which strengthens the blood vessels, which can help with swelling during reactions.  Look for straight quercetin, not QBC (quercetin, bromelain and vitamin C).  I recommend 400-500mg as needed preferably on an empty stomach.
_Steroids can cover up the symptoms, but they will also make your allergies worse by atrophying the adrenals.
_Quercetin counters histamine and leukotrienes.
_Dairy is another common allergen, and allergic responses [to it] could increase inflammation in the intestines increasing the risk of "leaky gut associated" allergies.
_(Quercetin is the best way to end the dependance on nasal sprays too.) https://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1703516#i And only use a small amount of the nasal sprays as needed if rebound congestion occurs and the quercetin does not clear it up [right away].
_TMG: The methyl donor trimethylglycine (TMG), derived from beet leaves, helps to reduce histamine by increasing the level of antihistamine epinephrine. And even though TMG helps to increase stomach acidity TMG itself is alkalizing.
_If someone is sensitive to nightshades, salicylates etc there is already some problem with the system since these sensitivities are not normal.

_>Pantethine helps you clear toxins, boost your adrenal gland function, elevate your mood, clear your head, and is a vital nutrient for the health and well-being of your brain and cardiovascular system.
_BDNF can prevent and reverse Alzheimer’s disease. Pantethine is an ideal nutrient to support BDNF formation2. It supports the adrenal glands as well as overall energy production.
_Perhaps the most interesting new findings on lecithin concern its connection with the functioning of the brain and nervous system.
_The main source of energy for the brain comes from a combination of oxygen and glucose (sugar). For brain cells to function normally they must receive a constant supply of these nutrients. As areas of the brain become more active blood flow into and out of these areas increase.
_In addition to oxygen and glucose, the brain uses chemical compounds known as phospholipids. These phosopholipids make up the covering of nerve cells that assist in the transfer of information from cell to cell. Without phospholipids brain cell activity may become abnormal and cause problems in the nervous system.
_Certain diseases like Alzheimer's disease and brain tumors can affect blood flow to the brain and change the way the brain metabolizes phopholipids. In addition to diseases, changes in the brain occur with normal healthy aging.
_Besides being an important factor in controlling cholesterol levels and aiding coronary health, lecithin is involved in a myriad of body functions. Every cell of your body contains lecithin. Lecithin is responsible for maintaining the surface tension of the cell membrane. It therefore controls what goes in and out of each cell, allowing nutrients in, or wastes out. Without enough lecithin, the cell wall hardens, thus not allowing enough nutrients in or wastes out. This means premature aging of cells. The surface tension of the cell maintained by lecithin is also responsible for transmitting nerve impulses and messages through or from the cell.
_Individual isolates are not as effective as products containing all the synergistic compounds. Lecithin contains 4 synergistic phospholipids, not just PC. So I would take lecithin over PC anytime.
_Can amyloid plaque be cleared? Studies indicate that it can be. And there are many other things that can be done to enhance brain function. Lecithin granules are great. Periwinkle raises brain circulation and ATP formation. Gotu kola and gingko biloba increase brain circulation to a lesser extent.
_Vitamin D and curcumin are both very good. I have some saved abstracts on curcumin and beta amyloid:
_I would not worry about the aluminum for several reasons:
1. Aluminum has never been linked to Alzheimer's. It was an assumption based on presence. Now it is believed that calcification may be responsible as one of the hypotheses.
2. Aluminum is so prevalent in the Earth's crust that you are going to be ingesting this same aluminum oxide in about any plant you ingest.
3. Silica has a high affinity for aluminum and helps bind and remove it from the body.

The most important supplements for preventing aneurysm are actually silica and vitamin C with bioflavonoids, especially rutin.  Silica is best taken by adding to water as I have discussed previously.  As for vitamin C I prefer natural sources as much as possible.  Great sources include watercress, papaya, kiwis, berries, amla,  acerola cherry and nettle leaf.  Watercress and nettle leaf are also great sources for the silica, sulfur and for providing the traces of zinc and copper needed as catalysts.

__ANXIETY
_Anxiety is most often caused from lactate buildup. Although it can also be caused from high epinephrine, low acetylcholine. I recommend ashwagandha and nettle leaf, which both also support the adrenals and thyroid, mixing the herbs in a ratio of 2 parts of ashwagandha to one part of nettle leaf, 1/2 teaspoon 3 times daily at least 20 minutes before meals. An iodine source would also be a good idea. The highest herbal source is black walnut hull, 1 capsule 3 times daily before meals.

_Q. Unlike OSA [Obstructive Sleep Apnea] where the airway is obstructed (typically by the tongue relaxing too much/losing its tone), in CSA [Central Sleep Apnea] the brain just fails to send a signal to inhale again.
_A. I recommend supplementing with lecithin granules (1 tablespoon 3 times daily with meals) and 1,000 mg trimethylglycine (TMG) 3 times daily before or with meals. The idea is to increase neurotransmitters, especially acetylchloline that plays a major role in breathing. Sleep apneas have been linked to lower levels of acetylcholine and/or dopamine. The lecithin provides choline for the production of acetylcholine, which is what I recommend to focus on primarily first. If you do not see improvement in the first month then I recommend adding phenylalanine (1,000mg 3 times daily at least an hour before meals) and the herb bupleurum to increase dopamine.

_LOW ENERGY
https://www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1548148
_Adrenals or Adrenals & Thyroid
_Fixing your adrenals may bring up your energy level. I've previously found info from Sloane on how to fix the adrenals. He said they mainly need Vitamin C and Pantothenic acid. He recommends Amla Berry powder for Vitamin C and Rice bran etc for Pantothenic acid, which is Vitamin B5. If you want to take B5 alone for a while, about 100mg/day with meal should be enough. I've been getting Amla Berry capsules instead of powder. I get the Solaray brand from http://Vitacost.com . I also use cheap Vitacost Vitamin C tablets, because an old study found that its stable in tablet form. But Vitamin C is destroyed easily from heating, high pressure, oxygen, or light. The Amla Vitamin C is 12 times as effective as plain Vitamin C, because it has bioflavinoids etc in it. That's also why Rice bran is more effective than B5 alone. Vitamin C should be taken half an hour before meals, because it's transported in the blood by insulin and if there's glucose, some of the insulin will be used to transport the glucose, and there may not be enough to carry the Vitamin C, so the rest would go to waste.
_Blood vessels need Vitamin C too, but it goes to the adrenals first and whatever is left over goes to the blood vessels. Magnesium malate or citrate softens plaque in the blood vessels and Lecithin granules remove the plaque. The Magnesium also prevents muscle cramps and lowers blood pressure by dilating blood vessels. Other forms of Magnesium Sloane says are useless or harmful, except what's in food & maybe well water.
_Here's a quote from Sloane and a reader in the next post here.
_ADRENALS FOR SOUND SLEEP

_Try glycine [powder, 1/4 teaspoon half hour before meals; it tastes sweet]. You may also want to give nettle leaf a try before bed. Nettle leaf supports the adrenals, is a good source of chromium and magnesium for blood sugar control, and has a fair amount of protein again to help stabilize blood sugar. Chlorella would also be a good choice as it is about 60% protein for blood sugar control and also helps with metal detoxification.
_[Reader:] I got Shishsandra berry. You had suggested putting a bit in my mouth for 5-10 seconds a few times a week, but how should I take or use it?
_Swallow it after stimulating the taste receptors on the tongue to help support the adrenals. If you tolerate the schisandra then you would benefit by taking it 3 times daily, again to boost the adrenals. Schisandra [preferably powder] is one of the best adaptogens available.
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1771794#i
_Other than the vitamin C and pantothenic acid sources, the adaptogenic herb ashwagandha would help with calming to reduce cortisol and it helps with T4 to T3 conversion in the thyroid. A seaweed like bladderwrack three times daily will also help support the adrenals and the thyroid.
_So, if you have hypothyroid, ashwaganda and bladderwrack should help. I just ordered ashwagandha yesterday from http://starwest-botanicals.com . I think I have mild hypothyroid because I always have cold hands and my body temperature 15 or 20 years ago averaged about 97.6 instead of 98.6.

_X: I also have low-p-iron value 18 and the accepted range is 45-182. What is the best way to raise my iron level, and cure my anemia? I have been eating a vegan diet but the iron from all the greens I eat must not be enough. Do I need to eat some red meat? I may have to moderate my vegan diet and eat some animal products.... suggestions?
_JS: Iron tablets with vitamin C would be your best choice to get your numbers up quicker.  There are plant based iron sources, but plant based iron is not as easily absorbed as heme iron. The drawback is that the iron pills can cause constipation.  Taking it with some slippery elm or marshmallow root should help with this. [Or flax seed, or other fiber?]
_Some red meat though would also be a good idea for B12 if you are not supplementing B12 since this can become a deficiency in strict  vegetarians.  And B12 is needed for red blood cell formation.
_X: I have just recently become anemic (in the past two months). I hope that's not long enough to do any damage, if I get it corrected quickly.
_JS: No, you should be fine.  Tell you an interesting story.  I was doing hematocrit on people once and this one lady came in and I drew her blood up in the capillary tube the blood was literally light pink.  I told her right then that she was anemic without even running the hematocrit.  And she definitely was.  I cannot recall what the exact reading was but it was so low that I could not believe she was still walking around.  So the body can be quite resilient.
_X: Do you know of any supplements that could lead to anemia or low iron? I take tons of supplements and worry I might have overdone it or some of the supplements interacted with each other.
_JS: There are a number of things that can contribute to anemia such as drinking coffee or tea, grains, alpha lipoic acid, inositol hexaphosphate (IP6), calcium, any herbs high in oxalates such as rhubarb root or cat's claw and herbs high in tannins such as green tea, oak bark, uva ursi, etc.

__ARRYTHMIA

_Q. 85 year old woman with an arrythmic heart and retainS water, takes one full strength aspirin a day and one furosemide 40 mg. daily.
_A. First of all it is very likely that the arrhythmia is from the furosemide (Lasix). I have actually seen this a number of times. Doctors will give patients furosemide, which depletes potassium, without giving them a potassium source. After a week or so their potassium levels drop so low that they develop heart arrhythmias from the low potassium. If she is not on potassium already then I recommend getting on >potassium supplements.
_>Magnesium malate is also a great choice for heart arrhythmias. Magnesium malate helps to increase blood flow to the heart and increases ATP for the heart muscle.
_>Coleus forskohlii is also helpful since it helps to strengthen the heart contractions to pump more blood through the kidneys where the excess water can be removed.
_Q. Do you think it's a good idea to get off aspirin?
_A. Yes. Aspirin is not healthy, it is actually quite dangerous.
_Q. What could she take instead?
_A. Fish oil will thin the blood safer. So will >dan shen or >nattokinase. I like >Carlson's fish oil. They have a plain and flavored oils, and none of them have any fishy taste or smell that indicate rancidity.
_Q. How about furosemide?
_A. Ironically, furosemide actually depletes potassium, which is a natural diuretic. But what will be best in her case will depend on the cause of the water retention. If it is from sodium retention or potassium depletion then >potassium should work. If from something like congestive heart failure then herbs such as >coleus forskohlii or >cactus grandiflorus would be better choices. Coleus I prefer in powder form and taken with nettle leaf to prolong the effects. For example, a 2:1 ratio of coleus to nettle leaf with a recommended dose of 1/2 teaspoon 3 times daily before meals. If this is not strong enough to reduce the water retention then the mix can be taken 4 times daily. Cactus grandiflorus you will only find in a tincture, and it is hard to find. Directions will be on the bottle. Different tinctures can have different strengths so you pretty much have to follow their instructions. But taking the tincture under the tongue will facilitate the absorption.

__ARTERIOSCLEROSIS, See also SILICA DEFICIENCY
There are two kinds of cholesterol: HDL & LDL. There is actually a lot more to it including calcification and oxidation of cholesterol. But if we really want to discuss the depositing of cholesterol then we need to discuss inflammation. It is actually the inflammation that leads to the accumulation of any cholesterol on blood vessel walls. This is why hypothyroidism is such a significant risk factor for arteriosclerosis. Hypothyroidism leads to elevated levels of inflammatory homocysteine, one of the leading causes of heart disease. Interestingly, statin drugs used to lower cholesterol reduce levels of nutrients needed to lower homocysteine levels.
_ Any place in your body that you injure will flood with cholesterol, as cholesterol is a healing agent for the body. The reason lowering cholesterol does not reduce the risk of heart disease is because cholesterol levels are irrelevant. About 50% of people that have a heart attack have normal to low cholesterol levels. Cholesterol does not flood an area nor deposit unless the area has been injured and inflamed. In the case of the arteries the cholesterol builds up when the source of inflammation is not removed such as chronically high homocysteine. Furthermore, abnormally low cholesterol levels increase the risk for heart attack and stroke even further, primarily by reducing circulation.
_Methylation reduces homocysteine. TMG is your best choice. Otherwise dimethylglycine, small amounts of choline bitartrate or the vitamins B6, B12 and folate.

_Turmeric Tea for Weight Loss and Arthritis
Arthritis is one of the most common medical conditions that exist. It is described as having swollen and painful joints. The usual symptoms of this disease are muscle aches and pains, fatigue, loss of flexibility, stiffness of joints, and inability to use certain limbs.
_The most common forms of arthritis are gout, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and infectious arthritis. This condition can affect children as well, not just adults.
_Incorporating turmeric tea into your daily diet can help ease, soothe, and get rid of arthritis. Check below for the numerous ways it can help you deal with this disease.
_Helps with Inflammation
_Inflammation is one of the primary symptoms of arthritis. This will then cause pain, swelling, and stiffness. Fortunately, the curcumin in turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory agent. It inhibits the action of pro-inflammatory enzymes. It helps control inflammation in arthritis and prevents it from spreading. Also, it protects joints and synovial fluid from inflammation.
_In osteoarthritis, the degradation of bone tissues is observed. Curcumin protects certain bone cells from inflammation. It protects bones and joints from erosion in arthritis and also prevents the thickening of synovial fluid, which lubricates joints.
_Curcumin also slows down the progression of osteoarthritis by preventing the loss of bone tissue. It also reduces the activity of the bone cells that absorb bone tissue. Also, it maintains the function of cells that lay down bone tissue.
_Prevents the Progression of Arthritis
_No matter what type of arthritis you have, drinking turmeric tea regularly will eventually help halt its progress. There are certain cells in the body that are immune to cell death. They go by the name of fibroblasts. They are on the lining of joints, and they ensure smooth movements and flexibility.
_However, due to inflammation, these cells start to grow and resist cell death. This contributes to inflammation and the destruction of joints.
_Fortunately, the curcumin in turmeric targets these cells specifically. Curcumin prevents them from producing inflammatory agents. Eventually, curcumin is able to destroy these so-called indestructible fibroblasts, thus preventing the advancement of arthritis.
_So, thes Pain Brought On by Arthritis
_The daily intake of turmeric tea can help in reducing the tenderness and swelling of joints. Curcumin also inhibits the activity of certain enzymes that bring about inflammation and pain associated with arthritis.
_There are many studies that show  turmeric, specifically its compound curcumin, work as better painkillers and are more effective than certain drugs in treating arthritis. And unlike prescription drugs, they do not have any side effects.

__D: ASPIRIN MYTH, NSAIDS
See HEALTH DANGERS at http://l00k.createaforum.com/h/health-2-truth-in-medicine/

__ASTHMA
_Asthma is a form of allergy, actually an inflammatory allergy. And allergies are a symptom of adrenal gland dysfunction. When the adrenal glands are working properly they put out sufficient levels of immune modulating corticosteroids, and antihistamine epinephrine to counter allergic responses. Therefore, if the adrenal glands fail to put out sufficient levels of these compounds, we can develop allergic responses.
_When asthmatics go to the doctor, the doctor will give the patient steroids and epinephrine, which substitute for what the adrenals are failing to put out in sufficient quantities. This brings us to the topic of the immune system. The immune system is not a single thing. It consists of many factors including the bone marrow, thymus, spleen, white blood cells, cytokines, enzymes like SOD, the adrenal glands, etc. Therefore, parts of the immune system can be suppressed, while other areas are working fine. Allergies are a good example. Most parts of the immune system is working fine. The adrenal glands though are not putting out sufficient levels of antihistamine and anti-leukotriene epinephrine and immune modulating corticosteroids.
_This also helps explain why children can outgrow allergies, as I did. Children can outgrow many allergies, including asthma, generally around the age of 5 because in some cases it takes a little longer for the adrenals to fully mature.
_The adrenal glands use more vitamin C than any other part of the body. Therefore, this would be the first thing to focus on. Although I do not care for synthetic vitamin C. Natural C is generally stronger, more stable and provides more benefits than synthetic vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Excellent herbal sources of vitamin C are acerola cherry, amla, rosehips, watercress and nettle leaf. Food sources include kiwis, papaya and berries.
_The second most important nutrient for the adrenal glands is pantothenic acid. The highest plant source of pantothenic acid is found in bee pollen. When starting with bee pollen start out with small doses because of the risk of allergic reaction. The same applies to any time you change pollen sources since you can be allergic to one pollen source and not another.
_Herbs that support the adrenal glands include schisandra berry, astragalus, nettle leaf, Siberian ginseng, suma, ashwagandha, jiaogulan (Gynostemma), and licorice root. Herbs are best taken several times daily rather than once a day. Most herbs should also be taken on an empty stomach at least 1/2 hour before meals since fats and proteins can block absorption. Although herbal powders can be mixed in a little unsweetened applesauce since this does not interfere with absorption.
_I like making adrenal supportive candies by mixing astragalus, schisandra, pollen, amla and a little licorice root. Then I mix in vegetable glycerin until it forms a paste. I take a pinch and roll it in to a ball about the size of a pea. The candies taste like Sweet and Sour Tarts.
_Remember to avoid all stimulants since these depress immune function by weakening adrenal gland function. Stimulants include caffeine, ephedrine, and nicotine, and herbs including ephedra, guarana, black tea, country mallow and bitter orange.
_This can confuse some people because an old time remedy to stop an asthma attack is a strong cup of coffee. It is true that coffee, more specifically the alkaloids in coffee, will stop an asthma attack. These alkaloids; caffeine, theophylline and theobromine block the breakdown of a chemical messenger for the body known as cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). Production of cAMP counters the leukotrienes and histamine that can trigger asthma attacks. A problem though is that cAMP is very short lived in the body as it is quickly broken down by a liver enzyme known as cyclic adenosine monophosphate phosphodiesterase (cAMPPDE). Caffeine, theophylline and theobromine are cAMPPDE inhibitors and therefore extend the life and actions of cAMP. This is the same reason that theophylline has been used in hospital settings to control asthma. The problem is that the consistent use of stimulants deplete adrenal function and therefore levels of epinephrine and corticosteroids. In short, caffeine and related compounds can help if used occasionally when necessary, but continual use can increase the risk of asthma attacks.
_Along the same line, the reason epinephrine and ephedrine stop allergic reactions such as asthma is because they elevate levels of cAMP. This counters histamine and inflammatory leukotrienes, which are about 1,000 times more stimulatory to the formation of asthma attacks that histamine.
_There are herbs that can replace epinephrine and ephedrine without the stimulant effects. My favorites are zizyphus seed (suan zao ren), coleus forskohlii and nettle leaf. Zizyphus seed and coleus forskohlii both elevate cAMP levels without raising the pulse or blood pressure. Nettle leaf is a natural antihistamine by blocking cAMP breakdown and it helps support adrenal gland function.
_Keep stress levels down to a minimum since stress overworks the adrenals. When it comes to stress the adrenals are designed for short term use. The adrenals are not designed for long term stimulation as occurs with the use of stimulants and chronic stress. There are various methods that can be used to control stress. For example, meditation, exercise, pets or a relaxing bath. The best choice will depend on the individual.
_Steroids, such as Prednisone and steroidal inhalers, are best avoided or their use extremely limited. These drugs will help to control symptoms by reducing the inflammatory component of asthma, although they can aggravate the underlying cause. This is commonly seen as inhaler dependence. As the steroids atrophy the adrenal glands the adrenal glands produce decreased levels of steroids. When this occurs the body becomes more dependent on external sources of steroids. Therefore, as the steroidal medications atrophy the adrenal glands more of the steroidal medications are required to replace what the adrenals are failing to produce in sufficient levels.
_Magnesium deficiencies are common in asthmatics, and magnesium is very useful in the treatment of asthma. Magnesium relaxes the smooth muscle of the lungs by displacing calcium, thereby helping to prevent the spasming of the lung muscles. Because magnesium works by displacing calcium, it is important that the magnesium be taken in the absence of calcium. It also helps to take the magnesium on an empty stomach at least 1/2 hour before meals. If you take a calcium-magnesium supplement it should be taken at a different time of day. Recommended dose of magnesium is 300mg twice daily on an empty stomach. Pre-acidified forms of magnesium, such as magnesium citrate or malate, are better absorbed and more effective.
_A simple formula can be made to stop asthma attacks. Mix 1 ounce of coleus forskohlii tincture, ½ ounce of yerba mate’ tincture and a ¼ ounce of lobelia tincture. Mix well and put one ounce of the mixture back in to one of the tincture bottles. At the very first sign of an asthma attack I recommend squirting a dropper full or two of the tincture under the tongue and hold under the tongue. Forskohlii raises cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels like ephedra or epinephrine also do, but while lowering the pulse and blood pressure unlike ephedra and epinephrine. So it is much safer than ephedra, ephedrine, or epinephrine. Yerba mate’ blocks the breakdown of cAMP. Lobelia acts as a smooth muscle relaxant to prevent lung spasming.

__AUTOIMMUNITY; See also ADRENAL ISSUES, or VIRUSES
_Doctors are under the false assumption that autoimmune disorders result from an overactive immune system. In reality it is a suppression of the immune system through the adrenals leading to the over production of low affinity (nonspecific) antibodies. This is why immune suppressants such as stress and stimulants make autoimmune conditions worse.
_Actually Crohn's and ulcerative colitis, which is closely related, are autoimmune. Autoimmune conditions result in part from an impaired immune system through the adrenals. And in the case of Crohn's and UC the trigger is mycobacterium avium complex (MAC).
_My recommendation is to focus on killing the MAC with antibiotic herbs, using anti-inflammatory herbs, particularly >licorice root and >yucca root, and to build up the adrenal glands.
_For the antibacterials I recommend focusing on >chaparral and >pau d' arco.
_For the adrenals I posted a detailed response on this previously:
- https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1596471#i
_Here is a copy of my autoimmune write up I generally e-mail out:
_Autoimmune disorders are a symptom of adrenal dysfunction. The adrenal glands produce, among other things, steroids that modulate the immune response and reduce inflammation in the body. Though doctors tell us that autoimmune disorders are caused from an overactive immune system, this is obviously untrue. The easiest piece of evidence to prove this is the fact that things that suppress the immune system make autoimmune disorders worse. Ever notice how stress makes autoimmune symptoms worse? So does caffeine, ephedrine, nicotine, and steroids. Yes, steroids make the underlying condition worse. Steroids do reduce the symptoms of autoimmune disorders, such as inflammation in RA and weakness in MS. The reason they reduce the symptoms is because the steroids are anti-inflammatory and they suppress immune function to the point an immune response cannot be mounted. Though, this is a real stupid way to treat an autoimmune disorder since wiping out the immune system leaves a person open to many other illnesses, such as cancer. The steroid Prednisone also creates other adverse effects, such as osteoporosis. And what happens when you try to come off of the steroids? You will have a severe rebound reaction with increased autoimmune symptoms. Why? Because steroids DO NOT cure autoimmune disorders. And steroids, like stimulants, and stress atrophy the adrenal glands reducing the output of the body’s own anti-inflammatories and immune modulators. Although both are steroids, the real difference lies in the concentration. The body generates steroids in small amounts as needed. The long term substitute of high dose, stronger steroids, leads to a shut down of the production of corticosteroids by the adrenal glands, and a dependence on external sources of steroids as seen by the exacerbation of symptoms with Prednisone withdrawal.
_Immune modulation by the adrenals allows the body to produce normal high affinity antibodies. High affinity antibodies are specific to their target, allowing them to tag only foreign antigens for destruction by white blood cells. But this is where we run in to another common medical myth. We are taught in conventional medicine that “all” antibodies are specific to their target. This is obviously untrue since the body does not go out of its way to destroy its own tissues. To understand this process we can look at the production of monoclonal antibodies for disease research. To manufacture monoclonals they start with a serum sample, in which an antigen target is added. Various antibodies, both specific and nonspecific, attach to these antigen targets. The antigen target is then removed and placed in a solution of weak sodium sulfate, which removes the nonspecific “low affinity” antibodies. These are the same types of antibodies involved in autoimmunity, and that make HIV and hepatitis virus antigen tests inaccurate. The target is then added to a slightly stronger solution to remove the slightly more specific antibodies. This is repeated several times until only the high affinity antibodies, which are specific to their target, are left. These specific antibodies are then used to manufacture monoclonal antibodies. So as we can see antibodies to the same target can differ in their specificity to their intended antigen. Another example to this would be the connective tissue disorders in women with silicone breast implants. The manufacturers claim that the silicone is inert in the body. Although this claim has been proven to be false. Anti-silicone antibodies have been found in response to both liquid silicone, and solid silicone. Solid silicone is used in the manufacture of silicone drainage tubes and the encapsulation bags for implants. Anyway low affinity antibodies developed in response to the silicone mistake collagen in human connective tissue for the intended target silicone because of the shared similar structure of silica in silicone and connective tissue.
_Treatment of autoimmune disorders should start with building up the adrenal glands to properly regulate the immune response. Vitamin C is the most important nutrient for proper adrenal health, though I do not like synthetic vitamin C (ascorbic acid), sold in powders, crystals, capsules, tablets, and liquids. Synthetic C is very unstable, especially if in liquid form, or if exposed to heat or light. Synthetic C is also less active than natural vitamin C. >Amla berries are the highest source of stable vitamin C. My next choice would be >acerola cherry followed by >rosehips. The next most important nutrient for the adrenal glands is the vitamin B5 >pantothenic acid. The highest herbal source for this vitamin is >bee pollen. Be careful though if you are allergy prone. Herbs that support adrenal function include >schisandra berries (my favorite), >ashwagandha, >nettle leaf, >Siberian ginseng (cijuwa, eleuthero), >seaweeds, >suma, >licorice root (also a natural steroid so use in small doses), >Arctic root, and >astragalus.
_Remember to avoid all stimulants, and try to keep your stress levels down as much as possible. And steroids cannot be cut off cold turkey. They must be gradually reduced. Licorice root actually increases the effects of Prednisone and reduces its excretion. Therefore, when using licorice root Prednisone dosage may need to be reduced. Discuss reducing your Prednisone dosage with your doctor if using licorice root while taking Prednisone.
_Autoimmune disorder - Suspected or known triggers
- Juvenile diabetes: Coxsackie virus, rubella, Cytomegalovirus; Also linked to vaccines utilizing live viruses including DPT, MMR, rotavirus, and hepatitis vaccines
- Multiple sclerosis: Human herpes virus type 6 (HHV6)
- Rheumatoid arthritis and reactive arthritis (Reiter’s Syndrome): Chlamydia bacteria, Epstein-Barr virus; (EBV), gonorrheal bacteria, salmonella, Mycobacterium, enterobacteria, shigella bacteria, campylobacter bacteria
- Crohn’s disease: Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) bacterium
- Ulcerative colitis: Mycobacterium
- Lupus: EBV
- Sjorgren’s syndrome: Hepatitis viruses, Coxsackie virus, and EBV
- Hashimoto’s thyroidosis: EBV, hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human T-cell leukemia virus type 1
- Myasthenia gravis: HCV, and possibly other viruses
- Therefore, antimicrobials are recommended in the treatment of autoimmune disorders as well. Excellent antimicrobials that kill viruses, bacteria, and fungi include andrographis, chaparral, pau d’ arco, and amla.
_Q. "What herbs/supplements do you recommend one to take in order to improve/stimulate immune function?"
_A. The immune system is many things. It includes a number of different white blood cells, antibodies, peroxides, enzymes, interleukins, interferons, tumor necrosis factor, the adrenals, the thymus, the flora, the skin, various acids.
_The biggest thing is to avoid stress as much as possible. Stress can really suppress the immune system very quick.
>Vitamin C is great for helping to maintain the adrenals, thymus and white blood cell activity. Natural sources are always the best.
>Zinc is also very important for maintaining immunity. Although I recommend sticking to 50mg supplemental zinc daily since doses over 100mg daily can suppress immunity. And you will have to factor in dietary zinc as well as zinc in other supplements. So taking 50mg supplemental should keep you well within the 100mg limit with other sources.
>Adaptogenic herbs are excellent for boosting the immune system.
_Herbs rich in >polysaccharides will boost white blood cell activity. This is good as long as you do not have an autoimmune disorder. These herbs include >aloe, most >seaweeds, medicinal >mushrooms, >astragalus, >schisandra berry, etc.
>Licorice root is great for boosting interferon levels.
>Amla berry significantly raises superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels, which responds to interferon producing hydrogen peroxide that stimulates white blood cell activity.
_Watch your sugar intake. Sugar and vitamin C require insulin for transport. Excess sugar locks up the available insulin preventing proper transport of vitamin C to white blood cells for their proper function.
_Maintain your stomach acid.
_Maintain your intestinal flora with >probiotics and >prebiotics.

Health / OZONE

My GF said she was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor. I read somewhere lately that brain tumors are often a false diagnosis, when the actual condition is brain dehydration, I think. So I don't know if her diagnosis was correct or not. But I found one of James' old Curezone posts on ozone for brain tumors, which I'll quote here.
__OZONE FOR BRAIN TUMORS
https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1538404#i
_I really like ozone for brain tumors because of how readily it passes in to the brain tissue.
_I have not seen any fantastic units on the market.  Most are hot corona or UV units.  Cold corona is the best, but they are very difficult to find and many manufacturers claim their units are cold corona when they really are not.  The good news is that since this is not going to be used internally you can get away with a hot corona device.
_You will need an ozone unit that has an output tube so the ozone can be blow in to the ear.  He would lay his head sideways so that the ozone will blow in to the ear and sink.  Ozone weighs more than air.  The ozone will rapidly cross the tympanic membrane entering the brain, eyes, vascular system, etc.
_I recommend repeating this 20 to 30 minutes at a time 4 times daily.  Use a rag though around the ear to help keep the ozone out of the face and lungs.  Since he is going externally he can actually get away with using an aquarium pump instead of an oxygen tank if he does not have access to a tank.
_When he gets a unit and gets ready let me know what he is using and I can give you more specific instructions based on his set up.  I will need a link to the type of machine he is using and know whether he is using a pump or oxygen tank.
Then I found the following claim online, partly paraphrased.
How to Get the Benefit of Ozone Therapy for $100 or Less?
https://thepowerofozone.com/how-to-get-the-benefit-of.../
1. Carnivore diet
_The carnivore or ketogenic diet can get you the same effect or even better effects as ozone therapy without spending a single extra cent.
2. Hydrogen peroxide baths [soak for half hour or so]
_Add 2 cups of 35% H2O2 to bath [or 24 cups of 3% = 12 pints of peroxide]
3. Drinking ozonated water
Ozone Generator recommended by thepowerofozone.com https://tinyurl.com/OzTherapy [for $125 or so]
can be combined with oxygen source and produce pretty decent ozone concentrations.
4. Oxy-powder
magnesium peroxide powders, or MgO2: Oxy-powder, Homozon, Ozovit
I recall that James said to avoid magnesium oxide (MgO) and magnesium hydroxide (MgO2H2) because they burn the intestinal lumen and he said to use magnesium malate or citrate instead. But I don't know if MgO2 would also be bad like MgO and MgO2H2. I suppose it probably would be. And I guess the same would be true of epsom salt, MgSO4.
The article goes into a bit more detail, but I'm just showing the bare bones of it here.
I'm most curious about #3 there, I mean the ozone generator it suggests. It says people have said they got pretty good ozone concentrations from that cheap unit. So would that be a suitable source of ozone for ozone ear treatment of brain tumors?
